This is the final book in the Women of Justice series. This one features Kit Kenyon the last of the three sisters. I found this book to be very similar to the second book in the series, Don't Look Back. I was disappointed that it was also about a serial killer and had the same creepy feeling of the second book. If you don't mind somewhat gory, creepy suspense then you would probably enjoy this book.

This was my favorite book from this series! It was exciting, sweet, full of action…all around awesome. And not quite as much gory detail (to be blunt) as some of the books had. My favorite of the three…I highly recommend it!

I loved this book so much!!! A very suspenseful, well-written, and with a touch-of-romance Christian book. I enjoyed this book but I did like the second one a little more. I would recommend to 15 and older for some midly graphic descriptions of murders.

Even though I did guess who the killer was early on in A Killer Among Us, there were still quite a few nail-biting scenes. I have to say, one thing that slightly annoyed me with A Killer Among Us was when Kit would do foolish things (like going somewhere alone when she knew someone was after her). Those types of things always seem to frustrate me. The romance was really sweet and I loved how the main characters from books 1 & 2 were in A Killer Among Us. Overall, I loved A Killer Among Us and recommend it if you enjoy romantic suspense novels with some creepy elements. Great read! *I did not get this book for review - I read a library copy. Again, some grammatical/editorial issues...who's for whose, nauseous for nauseated, and sentence fragments. And a few more loose ends...the book needed a bit more detail added in. Otherwise a great end to the series!

WOW! I loved, loved, LOVED this book!!! I found it nearly impossible to put down! While this is the first book I have read by Lynette—and the third in a series—I was instantly caught up in the drama and while enough backstory was given so I was never confused, I am now itching to get the two previous books and read of Samantha and Jamie’s adventures in detail! By the time I got to the end of this book, Lynette Eason was firmly written in my list of favorite authors, and A Killer Among Us is now WOW! I loved, loved, LOVED this book!!! By the time I got to the end of this book, Lynette Eason was firmly written in my list of favorite authors, and A Killer Among Us is now sitting on my “favorites” shelf. Lynette has some awesome, strong characters! I tried to pick my favorite…but they are all so wonderful! Kit, Noah, Samantha, Connor, Dakota, Jamie...everyone! The Women of Justice series has an amazing cast of characters that you will NOT forget! The two that A Killer Among Us focuses on, Kit and Noah, will instantly grab your heartstrings and not let go. I fell in love with the two! Kit is a brave heroine that I respected and I loved how she didn't have the 'I don't need a man, I'm tough enough to take care of myself' attitude. She was tough, but she respected Noah and relied on him as a partner. Noah made an awesome hero! Totally loved his ‘hard on the outside but sweet on the inside’ personality. My kind of guy! The storyline was intense. Jumping from one murder scene to the other, the reader never had time to grow bored. Oh no! Not for one minute! I did have a hunch as to who the serial killer was, and was so excited when my hunch proved correct in the end. I love a good mystery! The sweet story between Kit and Noah only adds to this books awesomeness. Never overpowering the mystery or suspense (which is exactly how I like my suspense books) it still had enough tension between these two characters as they each struggled with feelings from their past and each other. While some might think that knowing a person for a little over a month is way too short to be thinking of marriage, when I read all the things they went through in this book, I was not surprised. I always love a writer who can get me right into the characters head, making me think, feel, and react to exactly what that character is going through…and Lynette did just that! Her writing style was engaging and direct, bringing vividly to life Kit and Noah’s surroundings and emotions. This being a crime thriller where they are tracking down a serial killer, it's obvious that there will be a bit of violence, blood, and gore in here. But it wasn't that bad. At least, not for me. :-) There is once when Kit and Noah uncover that there is an affair going on between two people, and anther time where they discover students using drugs to get through law school...but that was it, as far as questionable content goes. The author handled it well and, as long as the reader is okay with gory scenes, I consider this a very clean book. I could rant and rave about this wonderful suspense book all day, but let me wrap up in saying…GET THIS BOOK! I am a big lover of suspense, so if that is your favorite genre also, I highly recommend Lynette Eason’s A Killer Among Us! It is well worth the money spent to buy this book!

Having enjoyed Lynette Eason’s first book in the Women of Justice series, Too Close to Home, I was excited to have an opportunity to listen to the third book of the series, A Killer Among Us. Those that have read my reviews in the past and are familiar with me are probably wondering how in the world I chose to do that without reading the second book of the series. I will very likely go back and read that someday, but skipping that book didn’t take away from my enjoyment of A Killer Among Us. I will very likely go back and read that someday, but skipping that book didn’t take away from my enjoyment of A Killer Among Us. The same things I loved about the earlier book, were alive and well here. For example: *A strong heroine – Kit was downright stubborn at times which actually made her charming and gutsy. As far as her professional life is concerned, she fits the law enforcement bill perfectly. Personally, she is on a bit of shaky ground as she recently discovered things about her family she needed time to digest. Even so, she is “all in” for her case and in her new relationships. *A genuine hero – Noah, Kit’s new partner, doesn’t know what to think of Kit. But his genuine interest in her as a colleague and a woman was so sweet. I was intrigued by his character and couldn’t help but cheer him on in the case and in his interest in Kit, the woman. My favorite aspect of Noah was his faith and how he shared it with others that seemed to need it. *Key secondary characters – I was thrilled to get glimpses of what was going on with characters that I read about in Too Close to Home. A Killer Among Us had a great mystery to it. I didn’t realize until late who the actual murderer was and that is important to me when reading this genre. Many details were involved and many murders in a short amount of time. Sometimes it was almost hard to believe that all of the activity that was happening throughout the book could happen in such quick succession, yet the pacing felt good throughout. I listened to the audiobook version of A Killer Among Us. The narration by Kate Zane was very enjoyable. Rating: B Note: I received a review copy of this title courtesy of the audiobook publisher, Tantor

You don’t have time to listen to me yap with Lynette? Okay I was totally enamored with the characters, loved her narrative, and enjoyed the prose. I am a sucker for character driven fiction, you know that by now, and this is just that, really good character driven fiction. The thing that also makes me smile as I read this is the Christian bend to it. I love it! How she and other authors of this publisher can carry this off time and time again is just amazing. Now there is a serial killer on the loose called The Judge. He has a planned execution for a number of individuals where he will be the Judge, jury and executioner. And either Kit or Noah is on The Judge's list. "A Killer Among Us" is a thriller, no doubt about it. Kit and Noah's lives are in great danger from page one and the danger grows with the body count. Just when you think you might know where the story is heading Ms. Eason tosses in another turn which you take at high-speed on two wheels. There are so many wonderful themes in this book especially God's love and forgiveness. "A Killer Among Us" reminds us that God never abandons us or forsakes us even when we turn our backs on him! Ms. Eason makes her characters so real and you root for them to complete their mission and you root for their romance to blossom. Ms. Eason knows how to tell a story that keeps you flipping the pages and guessing as to who the bad guys really are. This is a wild ride read and I recommend it highly. While I am sorry that this book concludes the series I am looking forward to Ms. Eason's new series. Kit and Noah are targeted for two completely different purposes, but as they devote time and energy to finding the person behind the killings, they discover there is more than a common goal between them. Grisly murders, recently discovered family issues, and her attractive partner keep Kit's mind occupied. Will they find The Judge before he finds them? Can she ever forgive her mother for the past? And will both of them live long enough to consider more than a working relationship? I enjoyed A Killer Among Us by Lynette Eason. The plot's pace was perfect – not crazy fast, but not boringly slow. As the evidence grew, so did the twists of the plot and the sense of suspense. The characters were well-written, especially Noah Lambert. He managed to be the hero that is often prevalent in Christian fiction, but not in a preachy or stereotypical way. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of romance in the book. Most crime fiction I've read has a only a hint of romance. A Killer Among Us, while not an over-the-top romance, had lovely little romantic moments that led to a beautiful ending. A Killer Among Us by Lynette Eason is quite descriptive and therefore more poignant than other comparable Christian suspense books. I actually got creeped out during some of the scenes involving The Judge. Because of that, I would not recommend this book to anyone under the age of fifteen. However, if you can handle some gruesome details and a few minutes in the mind of a deranged serial killer, you will probably enjoy this crime suspense novel. Despite the creepiness, I would read it again. Available May 2011 at your favorite bookseller, from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. Once you start reading A Killer Among Us, you'll have a hard time putting it down. There is a ton of action and suspense that had me guessing who the killer was the entire time. This book reminded me of watching the TV show "Criminal Minds" where you get to see inside the head of the killer as well as watching the detectives work the case. I enjoyed the tidbits of a glimpse in to the killers mind, he sure was psychotic. The main characters were enjoyable; I was completely immersed in their lives right from the start. I really admired Noah; he was such a Godly man and always made an effort to remind Kit as well as others of God’s love. The spiritual threads in here were perfect. There was a lot of action going on, but here and there was a mention of God's love and forgiveness. A Killer Among us reminded me that God never abandons us or forsakes us even when we turn our backs on him! Very inspirational! The romance was sweet and desirable. I felt like the romance moved a little fast considering it all happened within a few weeks but I wouldn't change anything about it. Very clean and enjoyable! I am looking forward to reading more by Lynette Eason. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy Christian Suspense with a touch of romance, you will not be disappointed. I received a copy of this book to read and review from the author. My review is not biased by the fact that I was given this book. I HONESTLY read and review any book whether bought or given to me. They get off to a rough start, due to Noah’s initial lack of respect, which Kit quickly nips in the bud. Three weeks into their new partnership, a grisly murder pops up. Even with both using their distinguished talents, they are thrown into a tailspin as additional murders begin to occur. About the time a commonality in the victims is identified, the next one blows their theory out of the water. More help is brought in as they determine they have a serial killer on their hands. The killer, who is identified as the Judge, is crafty in evading the investigators. Your interest is piqued by Lynette’s multi-layered and intense plots and twists, keeping you enthralled in the chase to the very end. You find yourself grieving with the victim’s families and struggling with the exasperation of the investigators’ inability to speedily track the killer down, as well as their exhaustion due to the number of murders occurring. Throw in the simmering romance between Kit and Noah, the fact that the killer is also after the detectives, and you have one riveting story that keeps you reading late into the night! This story is heart-warming on a different level, that brings the reality of the whole situation into context. One that both Kit and Noah will learn. Noah’s faith is vital to all that is going on, despite the gruesomeness of the murders and the devastation to the families. It’s his faith that unnerves Kit initially. But gently opens her heart. I couldn't even begin to describe how anxious I was to read and review the 3rd and final book in the "Women of Justice" Series ~ "A Killer Among Us!" Lynette Eason has quickly become one of my Favorite Christian Suspense Authors for sure! While this book is the last in the series it easily would read as a stand alone however, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read the other two ~ "Too close to Home," and "Don't Look Back." A Killer Among Us introduces us to Kit and Noah. Kit is a High Profile Negotia I couldn't even begin to describe how anxious I was to read and review the 3rd and final book in the "Women of Justice" Series ~ "A Killer Among Us!" Lynette Eason has quickly become one of my Favorite Christian Suspense Authors for sure! While this book is the last in the series it easily would read as a stand alone however, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read the other two ~ "Too close to Home," and "Don't Look Back." A Killer Among Us introduces us to Kit and Noah. Kit is a High Profile Negotiator and Noah is a Detective with not only excellent instincts, but a godly man, and an example to all of those around him. When these two come together as partners, they both have to learn how to best work with one another. Noah's previous partner had a fatal accident and he still carries the burden and feels responsible. Kit is a strong woman and an excellent negotiator, yet harbors so much pain from her past. Together, these two make an amazing team and the more time they spend together, the more they realize they are attracted to one another. Noah prays Kit can find forgiveness and that God can work in her heart. As they continue to work on the case, they quickly learn they are dealing with a serial killer and may be hunting not just the innocent lives of the law students, but quite possibly, Kit or Noah as well! I have loved this series. A series about Family, and finding God, despite difficult situations and hurts in your past. I love how Lynette weaves forgiveness and healing into the lives of not only Kit and Noah but Jake, Samantha, Connor, and Jamie! If you like Suspense and Fast paced Action these are the books for you! The only thing that could make this the full package is to add a good romance in and Lynette has done that perfectly! If you are a CSI fan, or Criminal Minds strikes your fancy then don't walk to your nearest bookstore.....RUN! Grab the Women of Justice Series and a glass of sweet tea and enjoy these books!! You WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Kit is still struggling with her role as an adopted child and getting to know her biological family in addition to getting used to a new partner. Noah is all about God, and Kit doesn’t want anything to do with a God that would allow her to be given up for adoption. But when the killer has them pinned, then only one who can possibly come to the rescue is God…but is that enough? A KILLER AMONG US is the third book in Ms. Eason’s Women of Justice series, but it easily stands alone. I did enjoy getting reconnected with Sam and Jamie from the earlier series, and figured that Kit would be the heroine of this book. I also figured out who the killer was right away, and couldn’t believe that the police hadn’t figured it out before they did. Still, the suspense kept my interest and I read this book from start to finish in one day, neglecting my own work. I couldn’t put it down. The romance isn’t as strong in this book as it was in some of the other books, but it was there, and there were occasional really sweet moments. I totally enjoyed this book from start to finish. $14.99. 350 pages.

Spending every waking hour working on this case Kit and Noah soon find that there is more to their relationship than that of just partners. Secretly Noah is praying for Kit's heart to be changed by God because he cares for her. All the while Kit is trying to hang on to the anger against her adoptive mother so that she does not feel guilty about starting a relationship with her two sisters and birth parents. As they uncover new evidence and more bodies turn up they find themselves in a web of danger. Just as they think they have it all figured out they find something new that just doesn't quite fit. Honestly - I was so tempted to turn to the last page and see who the killer really was. There were so many twists and turns that I did not fit the pieces together until close to the end. This is an excellent book. Available where Revell books are sold. Thank you Revell for this review copy

Ooooooh! Y’all, this one gave me the willies even while I was sucked into the story and couldn’t stop reading to find out what happened next. This is perhaps Lynette Eason’s best book ever. The hostage negotiation was sublime! It’s a tough career, which I think was beautifully on display. I’m so glad the folks who go into that career do so, because they are such an integral part of rescuing people from volatile situations. The author of this book did a fantastic job of showing the struggles such a career, such an incredible responsibility, demands. Serial killers are really out there, y’all, and this book shows just how unaware we often are of such evil deeds. I liked the reminder in this story to be always aware of my surroundings and who and what are going on around me. One of my favorite things was how the leading man worked to overcome past prejudices due to hard experiences. His willingness to learn and retrain his own mind was a wonderful reminder that every day is an opportunity to be better than I was yesterday. The suspense in this one gave me chills, and I enjoyed the action and crime-solving duo. It was fun trying to figure out who was committing the gruesome crimes. Trigger warning: There is mutilation involved in the crimes in this one. If you’re squeamish, this is not the book for you. Content: drugs, talk of marital affairs, alcohol

Kit Kenyon finds herself in a hostage situation. A husband is threatening to kill his wife because she wants to leave him and take the children. Kit thought she had the situation under control, only to have it end badly. Noah Lambert and Kit are thrust into a string of gruesome murder cases. It seems that this serial killer deals out his own justice. He left the following message on his latest victim that said “Life’s a laugh. How does the death penalty feel? An eye for an eye.” As Noah and Kit Kit Kenyon finds herself in a hostage situation. A husband is threatening to kill his wife because she wants to leave him and take the children. It can be read as a stand alone novel. Kit was the more dominant of the two. This might have to do with the fact that this series is focused on women in authoritative positions. I liked this. If Kit had been a push over than I would have been turned off by her. You can tell that Kit and Noah have a thing for each other. Though, they do not let their relationship get in the way of doing their jobs. Mrs. Eason finds that right balance between mystery and romance. Often times in these sort of books the romance can become the focal point of the story when it should be the mystery and than the romance. If you like mysteries than check this book out.

I can't believe HE did it! That jerk was a complete psycho. The author left a few clues to the serial killer's identity, but I sure didn't guess The Judge as him right away. This book has believable characters, real tension, complete with clever plot twists and turns. Just a hint of Kit & Noah's sweet romance, Jamie & Dakota's newlywed status, and Samantha & Connor's established marriage, complete with baby. I really enjoyed reading the sisters' stories. One by one...Noah is always pointing hurting people to his counselor, that poor pastor probably needs some help. I know I would if that magnitude showed up on my doorstep. Thoughts on the adoption issue...I stopped reading the book at that point b/c it's still too fresh for me being on the other side of the coin. However, 3 weeks later, I began reading from that point on with a new perspective. "Oh, I bought you a house," says Noah, mumbles incoherently while in the hospital. I think this is one of my favorite sayings in this book. I am glad Lynette Eason introduced me the sisters and their respective husbands, but sad to leave them on the shelf. Sam, Jamie, and Kit gave me a roller coaster ride into the minds of serial killers, near death experiences, and ring shopping.

Lynette Eason's Women of Justice series gets wrapped up with "A Killer Among Us" and what a wrap up it is! I enjoyed reading the book, but unlike the first two books I was still guessing til the very end who the bad guy was. With the first two I figured it out half way through. This one I found out when everyone else did. I am looking forward to Lynette’s next book.

I have been seeing this authors books on Goodreads, and other book sites and when I ran across a copy of "A Killer Among Us" at a bookstore, I bought it. What a delightful surprise it is. There is no sexy scenes, no violently gory acts, no mention of how great criminal stuff is. Instead it is a book, written from a woman Cop's point of view, that describes the problems and turmoils of being an officer of the law, especially a female one, in this day and age. I loved being able to hate the bad guy, without all the angst that you usually find in mystery/thrillers, and that justice reigned without fail. The side love story was nice too. But most of all, I loved that this book has a plot, not just a bunch of words thrown together, but a real start, middle and ending plot. I will be hunting for more books by Lynette Eason. I recommend everyone who enjoys clean reading to do that also.

In this third installment of the Women of Justice series, Kit, a hostage negotiator and cop, is partnered with Noah to find a killer who is targeting law students. As the evidence is analyzed, Kit and Noah realize they are involved in the serial killer’s plan. Can they solve the case before they lose someone they love—perhaps each other?
