While the writing was not exceptional, the story of Laura and Almanzo's relationship after the events of "The First Four Years" more than makes up for it. A sweet story. Some new facts I enjoyed all the new information, the reason I only gave three stars is because once again this author, like so many others, felt the need to fill the pages of this book by quoting Mrs. Ingalls-Wilder's books and his own previous books a lot!. I just wish writers would write their own material, even if it means it's a short book. If a writer doesn't have enough of their own original material to fill a book, then they either need to do more research, or maybe not write the book at Some new facts I enjoyed all the new information, the reason I only gave three stars is because once again this author, like so many others, felt the need to fill the pages of this book by quoting Mrs. Ingalls-Wilder's books and his own previous books a lot!. Its a quick read and seemed to be written at an elementary level. It was a good love story of a beloved children’s book author. Did have too many quotes that I felt could have been left out as they are from other books about Laura or her own books to begin with. Did give a cute down to earth true love story of Laura and her “Manly”.

Not Worth Reading This book is poorly researched. It treats the "Little House" books as fact rather than fiction. It is written for children at an age level younger than those who read the writings of Laura. Not Worth Reading This book is poorly researched. I love the Little House books and have read them over and over so any "new" writings about Laura Ingalls Wilder get me really excited. This wasn't really new, and kept repeating over and over how in love Laura and Almanzo were. Kind of disappointing, nice to visit with Laura again though. Felt a little wrong to be reading about the private life of a private woman, but her stories and her life gripped me and I couldn't help but be curious.
