I am probably biased as I am a Packers fan but this is a simply written book that every leader should read. Lombardi’s quotes are famous from a leadership and motivation perspective. Lombardi Jr.’s book uses some of these quotes to great effect when presenting the three stages of good leadership, namely self-knowledge, character, and goal setting. As Lombardi said “I would say that the quality of each man’s life is the full measure of that man’s commitment to excellence and to victory - whether I am probably biased as I am a Packers fan but this is a simply written book that every leader should read. Quick easy to read book. I took 3-5 chapters each day, read then, tried to dissect and really understand each one. I liked this approach versus just flying through 15 chapters over 2 days and being done. Lots of great topics and “lessons “ ...however many are very standard practices. Overall 4 out of 5 stars seemed appropriate.

Great reminders for all Coaches / Leaders, simple easy read "If you settle for nothing less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in your life." Lombardi said it simple but said and practiced his values very well. A more concise version of rules and principles of Jocko Wilnik. Alot of them overlap.. almost as if its tried and true. Loved the football twist for obvious reasons.

I don't know what I was expecting from this book - but whatever it was... it was not a book about a college football coach and how it can be used to "create" and "perfect" a leader in the business world. I guess I was hoping for more of a book that would use more of the famous football coach's quotes and teach and apply how he used these principles and how we can use them in our everyday lives - not necessarily in a work-type setting. I think that I didn't really enjoy this book because it seemed like it was written for a commercial approach: Sell a book about my famous father. Apply it to a business model. Encourage said manager to buy book for everyone on his team. Make lots of money off of someone else's success. Granted, if I were currently working and IN the business profession, I may have appreciated this book for more than what I currently got out of it.

This is truly a pocket book. It is small enough (114 pgs.) that it will fit into your pocket or purse. Coach Lombardi's son has put together 26 rules the great Packer coach used in his life and tought to his players. It is a book that a leader should probably carry around and refer to often. I have trouble with these little primers because they rarely reveal anything I have not read many times before. It is a book that I will probably loan out to someone interested in learning more about leadership who is just beginning their exploration. So, in summary, this is a great little book for someone beginning to study the field, and for those who have been studying the principles it can be a great book to pull out for a refresher course.

I was disappointed in this book that it was more oriented towards leadership in the business world and not towards Football leadership. I was hoping to have many more examples of leadership principles from coach Lombardi's great coaeching career. They were some of the principles that I found to be helpful but felt in general that the author was taking all of the current leadership principles and trying to apply them to coach Lombardi. I read this cover to cover and highlighted things as well. It was very inspirational. I never really knew much about him besides knew he was THE football coach in Green Bay. His son writes the books, and they are filled with great leadership tools and quotes. Plus it was easy to read and had some cute cartoons, and stories. It turned football leadership styles into useful life lessons. (I loved it, and I hate football!)

Take the winning principles from the most-honored and respected football coach ever. Take those same principles and apply them to your sports teams, non-profit groups, or business ventures. This book provides a simple outline that can be used to apply leadership principles into any area of your life. Highly recommend this book to coaches and business leaders who want to experience Super Bowl type victories.

This book is short and sweet. Each section is divided up evenly, with a formulaic approach to each topic. The chapters aren't long, the notes aren't much, but he covers the essentials if leadership in 26 lessons. I would have liked to see fewer lesson with a little more depth. The anecdotes from Lombardi's life were a nice touch, but ultimately I feel like the author is capitalizing in his father's work without having some much on his own. This book is short and sweet. A very neat pocket book - doesnt take long to read, however, like with any book, it's imperative to take nuggets away & apply them. With the structure of the book being very easy to digest, this is not a hard task at all. Well worth the read! Amazing book. I finished it in one sitting. Motivational, inspirational, and necessary for eveyone in a leadership position. This one got away from dry leadership theory and got back to basics like personal character and leadership by example.

An easy, short, great book, on leadership. The author discusses some of Lombardi's beliefs on leadership and how he taught them to his football teams. Great read!
