HI-LAR-I-OUS. Finished it in one day, it was that good. Okay, so warning; it does have nudity, but nothing is ever shown. (besides bras and underwear, and some...skin.) Both of the love interests in this book were definitely swoon-worthy. Soshi; Riiko's friend and smexy glasses boy! Who irritates the living daylights out of Riiko (and she does the same, if not more, to him) but secretly cares for her. Night: The 'mail order Night Lover', who is basically the perfect boy. Protective, adorable, hot, a little horny, sweet, kind, caring....the list goes on. (Also, always willing to suddenly rip off his clothes) Of course, he was programmed with all those skills. I wouldn't have included the 'strip club' scene probably, but I guess it's another example of Night's (the 'doll') protection of Riiko. Though I hated reading about it. If you're looking for a fun, cute, adorable, hilarious manga read, pick this up! (If you aren't too embarrassed to)

The first volume in Absolute Boyfriend is tons of fun. High schooler Riiko is sick of being rejected by other men, so when a strange man gives her a card for a special website where she can buy a robotic boyfriend, she figures there's no harm in signing up for the free trial. Unfortunately, things get complicated fast. Absolute boyfriend is an over-the-top romantic comedy series filled with laughs, slapstick, and a touch of romance and drama. This review is for the series, volumes 1-6. This is a story about a girl who orders a robot. A hot robot who is absolutely devoted to her. I've never been a fan of Yuu Watase's art, but the appeal of this story speaks for itself, right? For the most part this was enjoyable. However, it suffered from some over-the-top mean girl action. The girls bullied Riiko horribly because they wanted Night for themselves. I do not like that! Girls don't turn into rabid beasts just because they like a guy! The girls bullied Riiko horribly because they wanted Night for themselves. I do not like that! Girls don't turn into rabid beasts just because they like a guy! Another plot point I had trouble with involved rape. (view spoiler)[There was a newer model robot trying to make moves on Riiko, and one day she woke up in a hotel bed with him thinking they'd had sex. She can't remember anything though, so she spends all this time agonizing about whether or not to tell Night. THEN the whole thing is dismissed with a cursory "Don't worry, he didn't do anything to you!" (hide spoiler)] It was so lighthearted and not treated as anything even remotely disturbing. However, I liked the idea of a love interest completely and totally devoted to the main character, so loyal he's never swayed by manipulative attempts to separate them. I also liked Gaku-san, the weird, comedic relief salesman. Soshi was a glasses-wearing cutie. While I did NOT cry at this manga, I just found out the show is on Hulu. MAKE ME CRY, SHOW. I dare you...

I like all the little author notes in the far left column every once and a while, Yuu is an inspiration ;) Before this I read the manga series Couple which was also cute and some sexualness, but Couple was more funny and more pervy lol, but Absolute Boyfriend has a better story!

After freaking out (What high school girl wouldn't?) she gives him lessons on reactions, emotions, and how to live a daily life. Riiko is extremely lovable. She's witty, fun, smart, and independent. Helping Night puts a bit of stress on her, but she deals with humor and looking on the bright side of things. All she wanted was a boyfriend, and now that she got someone with all the qualities girls want, what’s there to complain about? She starts caring for Night, and when women hit on him, she gets fiercely (and adorably) protective. Riiko cares for people, and doesn’t want them to get hurt. Her best friend Soushi confessed his love after Night showed up, so there’s a love triangle in the story as well. Night… ohhhhh boy. Again, he’s every womans dream. At first he’s very calm, self assured, and not hassled easily. After a while with Riiko, he shows more emotion and tries to please her in different ways then when his system first started. In time he starts caring about her too. Night becomes extremely protective of Riiko and sometimes tries to fight her battles. They both become a team and end up having tons of fun together. It’s a great read for people who want to sit down for a romantic comedy, and there’s only six books in the series so it’ll take you about six hours to read all of them. You’ll love Riikos fierceness and Nights quirky actions. I recommend this book for all comic readers. Absolute boyfriend is one of the most popular Shojo mangas, so get your hands on it while you still can!

Although the mail order boyfriend she named Night tenjo is built to Riiko's specifications, she did not think through what the Nightly Series.01 model would wish to fulfill. Riiko fails to read the fine print of the contract and misses the return time for Night Tenjo. Now, the weird salesman is demanding payment of $1 M dollars. Riiko doesn't have this kind of money. With her parents away on business, Riiko must now figure out how to pay of her debt and hide her boyfriend from her neighbor, Soshi, who is secretly in love with her. Will she succeed in getting the salesman off her back, will Night stay with her or will she realize that a real boyfriend was only an apartment away? Riiko is a smart and spunky character that I know teen girls will enjoy getting to know. Comments: While this manga is entertaining, I have to mention that it contains sexually suggestive situations, but noting I don't think teens won't be able to handle. Riiko has a good head on her shoulders and makes all the right decisions. Night, well, he's just a freshman that wants to make his girl happy in every way possible. His mannerisms may seem pushy but he has the added features of obedience and protector that make him charming. I wish I had time to read the whole series.

Absolute Boyfriend Vol. 1 is a romantic comedy series. This manga used almost every teenage fantasy as a theme- having the perfect boyfriend. I envied Riiko for a considerable time. The two boys in here are really hot especially Night. DAMN! An instant gorgeous, adorable, sexy, (a bit) horny boyfriend ordered over the Internet & FOR FREE! Man, if such thing really exist other than those pedophiles & posers in the world wide web, a girl's life would be one magnificent and exciting journey! Hahaha. This manga is an absolute fun read. Its the best work of Yuu Watase for me for I found the two I've mentioned above melodramatic. Highly recommended for romance manga readers. I'm revisiting this manga nowadays. AND I'M HAVING A GRAND TIME.

"He couldn't know!", we all think. But, later on in the volume, we find out just what kind of friend that Riiko's best friend, Mika, really is. But, shouldn't Riiko be happy Ishizeki turned her down? After all, she has the gorgeous glasses-guy, Soushi, waiting next-door for her at home. But, sure enough, as obvious to everyone around her as it is that Soushi pictures himself as Riiko's soulmate, poor Riiko considers gorgeous Soushi as nothing more than a friend. Sometimes, things happen that can change your life forever. While walking one day, Riiko finds a lost cellphone ringing. Luckily, she soon finds the owner, Gaku Namikiri, as well. And, thus begins the biggest adventure of Riiko's life, as he hands her a mysterious card-shaped CD-ROM, telling her that it leads to their super-secret website that can bring her the boyfriend of her dreams, exactly as she wants him. Riiko seems slightly disbelieving at first, but quickly changes her mind when she sees that the "Absolute Boyfriend" comes with a FREE trial period of 3 days. She gets giddy, and chooses over 80% of the available options, thinking she'll just return him in 3 days. Sometimes, you've just got to open your heart, and give someone a chance. But, Namikiri makes her a deal...if Night can gather data from other girls, she can keep him. So, the adventures begin to unfold as Night "protects" Riiko, and starts attending her school. Sometimes, you just have to read a series yourself to see what everyone is raving about.

She tells him all she wants is a boyfriend and he hands her a card to a website where she finds a free 3-day trial for an ideal boyfriend. Laughing it off as a joke, Riiko chooses every personality option and orders one. To her surprise, this is no joke, and a giant box addressed to her shows up the next day, a naked man toppling out calling her "girlfriend." Now it's a matter of who will Riiko choose? Night, the gorgeous, devoted, talented mystery man, or Soshi, her long-time friend who's always looked out for her? Absolute Boyfriend has impressed me for being what it was. Yuu Watase admitted in this volume to making up the plot as she went along, only having the overall idea for Night in her head. For something created on the fly, this is very good, even with the happenings ensuing in a weird, choppy fluidity. While it's definitely not the smoothest manga, the story and characters are compelling enough to leave a lasting impression. The artwork is also beautifully done with lots of attention to detail and focusing mainly on beautiful men. I will definitely continue to purchase this manga. For a lover of romance manga, it's definitely worth it.

So what is the story? Well apparently, there is this girl named Riko who has no luck in getting a boyfriend at all. So instead she returns a cell phone to this guy and he tells her about this website that will create her ideal boyfriend. Thinking it is just a game, she creates one and he arrives in a box naked the next day. Uh . . . ok. So she kisses him and has a free three day trial to do whatever she wants but when she goes over her trial period she ends up owing the company Kronos Heaven 100,000,000 yen. So in order to pay off her debt the doll Night is given a ring to study people's emotions. I kept reading this manga series and I'm sitting here thinking that it isn't bad, I will admit that this is very creative. The romance between a robot and a human is very interesting. While Riko realizes that he is just a doll and she placed qualities she wanted in a boyfriend inside him, she can't help herself when she falls in love with him because he is nice to her and treats her unlike any other guys who keep rejecting her. There is also Night who begins to develop human emotions but there's a side effect, his machinery begins to break down and he isn't able to function. As a result he becomes sleepier and will eventually die. Aside from the story the characters are not so bad as well. Riko is clumsy, simple-minded, kind, and very hardworking. She gets really shy around Night since a lot of times he takes off his clothes in order to sleep with her. She also has feelings for her childhood friend Satoshi which changes into a love triangle. Night is the perfect boyfriend for Riko because she designed him. He's charming, dependable, intelligent, athletic, good-looking, sensitive, and completely devoted. Even being a robot or a doll he begins to develop feelings for Riko and grows human emotions. Satoshi is Riko's friend who develops feelings for her and that's about it. He doesn't have as much of an interesting personality but he isn't bad. He's nice and I think that's good. Miyabi is very interesting and my favorite character. She doesn't care for love but loves money and being independent. She received scars on her back from a fire and believes that no one will love her because of the scars she has but Night is able to comfort her and give her advice. Gaku is pretty funny at times and Yuki is Gaku's boss. The company Kronos Heaven is weird because the people in charge of the company are small children and look VERY young compared to Gaku and Yuki. The boss is even the baby. How they keep the company running I have no idea. There's also a little bit of drama. Riko has a frenemy named Mika who has been secretly spreading rumors that Riko is a slut dating boys just for their money. She only goes after guys who are taken by other girls. There really is no reason to have this character belittle Riko because Riko is not harming Mika or is a threat to her. But whatever, that drama doesn't last long. There's also the stupid love triangle that I'm starting to get tired of. It's completely unnecessary because even when Night dies she doesn't return Satoshi's feelings. She keeps her love for Night and that's it. What's interesting is that the romance between Riko and Night doesn't last because in the end Night dies. Yeah, he gets fixed after they had sex and then he suddenly dies. Wait what? Yep. That's the end. It's just thrown in there. Well that's all I got. It wasn't bad at all. I do admire its creativity. But this just didn't do it for me.

I felt sad when he was leaving for Spain but then he came back because Night asked him to take care of Riiko. AND THE NOTE! THE NOTE! That note he recieved from Night. T.T There were many events in the story that made me laugh because they were so darn funny; like all those times when Night gets naked. There were many events that made me sad; like when Night died T.T . There were many events that made me go "Awwwwww! <3"; like all those times when Night said I love you to Riiko. There were many amazing events in the book. I still remember most of them in my head now. <33333333333333333333333 The series was funny and witty and romantic and sweet and actiony and thirlling and just simply amazing. I don't think it coukd be any better than it already is. I had a great time reading it and hope that many other people will read it an enjoy it too. I recommend this manga to everyone, including boys. Who cares if it's a shojo manga? It was freaking great! So go out there and read this manga called "Absolute boyfriend".

*Mild Spoilers* My first flip through I hated the story and thought it so shallow. A few shoujo manga later and it looked by far much better and I enjoyed the read through. It is an unusual love triangle as she doesn't even realize her neighbor, Soshi, likes her and Night is so perfect he makes you dissatisfied with the truth of how men are. I believe though this contrast is what makes this manga so appealing to women. Riiko is okay, but really a stand in for the contrast. I hope she can grow as a character and see those around her as they really are. I love how deliberately watchful Soshi is and Night so delightfully odd. Soshi does what he does out of genuine caring; while Night is what a perfect would be like: Can Soshi learn enough to capture Riiko with his genuine nature or will Night somehow become genuine? The inclusion of the best friend, Mika, as a mastermind out to ruin Riiko's happiness was quite unusual as shoujo rarely have deliberate villains. Also fascinated by Ishizeki's duped role of sidekick. BOTTOM LINE: Cute but with problems.

When you want a boyfriend none are around, that is just how Riiko feels. On the path of desperation she signs up for a free trial for a robotic boyfriend. What can go wrong right? Nope, wrong! Riiko receives the extravagant Night, a hot and sexy man that only wants to please her. Seriously this is one of the best manga I have ever read! It is filled with romance and comedy and enjoyable characters. I fell in love with every aspect of this series right from the beginning. There is an interesting love triangle that also develops, I had a hard time choosing which guy I would end up picking, you will have to see for yourself. Riiko is just a doll! No, not literally, but cute nonetheless. She is always looking on the bright side of things and is protective of the ones she loves. Night is the epitome of every girls dream guy. He is so adorable when he is learning all of the different emotions and things Riiko is trying to teach him. Night is really cute when he starts becoming overprotective of Riiko. I really wish they would make it into an anime!!!

Oh my God! This was sure something, hilarious as hell, fluffy as stuffed pandas and unicorns, swoon worthy love interests like you can't imagine, sci-fi combined with love and humor in one manga. Seriously awesome manga read. I'll say, this is what? my first, second? manga. I'm not specially a anime fan, yeah, I've watched some series, but I've never really gotten into it, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out I loved this and finished the six volumes in one day. Yup, addicting stuff we got in here. Note: For all of you who want to read this, yes, there is nudity, but they don't show any actual parts, just skin, lots of skin and underwear. But anyways, if you decide to pick it and read it and you aren't too shy or I don't know something to read, then you won't regret it. Addicting stuff we got in here, handle with care. Camila out.

Oh my God that ending! And THAT BITCH! Ohhh I can't wait to read the next volumes of this series. I love it already. I can totally relate to Riiko and her lack of self-confidence especially when it comes to men and romantic relationships. But I do hope that she sees her worth before the end of this series. I really like her and I love Night! *heart eyes and adoring sighs* The synopsis for this book/series caught my interest and it did not disappoint! 3.5 stars. Initially I had a little trouble getting into the story but the more I read, the more I liked it. The storyline was a little crazy but I've grown to like Night. He really is being the Absolute Boyfriend. To me, it's obvious that the next door neighbour likes our girl, but she's being a bit oblivious at the minute. And then that last page! Her "friend" of all people! It has definitely made me intrigued enough to carry on the series. It's only in 6 parts so I wouldn't think it would take me 3.5 stars. I avoided this series at first, because I'm not a fan of Yuu Watase. I got it off Manga Takeout because I found out there's going to be a new drama based on it starring Hiro Mizushima. XD I really loved it! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. If you were turned off by Fushigi Yugi, you should still give this a shot. (At least, that's what I say after reading vol. 1. Hopefully future volumes are still this good!) I avoided this series at first, because I'm not a fan of Yuu Watase. Didn't think I would enjoy this nearly as much as I did. I thought this manga would be very generic and the premise sounded silly, but I found the characters to be really entertaining. This isn't something revolutionary, but there are enough hijinks (I especially liked the frequent appearances of the our friendly salesman!) and cute boys to make requesting additional volumes for some light weekend reading worthwhile. Ok do let me tell u this manga stuff takes me 30 minutes to read. So I am a YouTube sims fan and watch sim series on YouTube and there was one based of this series called perfect boyfriend by bluewhitecherry! So I was in the library returning things and stumbled upon this book! And I love it so! Thought the robot in this one takes it's clothes off more and is a little more human. I've been a Yuu Watase fan for a long time now. I like the way she incorporates humor to lighten the plot when the mood gets too heavy. The art tends towards a realistic style, especially in facial expressions and clothing, which I appreciate. This is a solid romance, with a girl who's not sure of her own feelings yet!
