I read the first two chapters. Farmer does a great job of hyping Pico as the consummate, supreme syncretist or all of Western history (perhaps of global history, Farmer insinuates). Leaving that grandiose claim aside I felt like the best moments of the book were the keen psychological insights into mentality of an individual embarking on such an effort, the responsibility and sense so trepidation and genus such a mind must feel under the weight if such a project. If you like books like this you'l I read the first two chapters.
