A beautiful mind, an inquisitive and searching mind. A mind that is never still and eyes that see more, in a way that most never will or can. Nina Romano captures these snapshots of humanity and with her word artistry she allows you to be a bystander, allows you to feel that you are there, seeing the world through her eyes. Just by reading her delightful words you can feel the emotions she wishes to portray. A book to be read. Again & again. Thank you Nina.

This was a lovely book of poetry. The writing in this book is thoughtful and insightful and full of humor and reflection. I loved this book way more than I thought I would. I know that I am usually pretty hard on poets, but this book was lovely. Two thumbs up!

Coffeehouse Meditations by Nina Romano is an absolutely sumptuous book of poetry. Ms. Romano’s poetry is full of sensual longings with reflections on the past and meditations on the present. Her poetry is fresh like the first spring’s aroma of an array of scented flowers after the crocuses have bloomed. Ms. Romano’s use of metaphors, language, and poetic cadence makes for a wonderful book of poetry. Sometimes, as I read Coffeehouse Meditations, tears welled up my eyes, and at other moments, while reading I reflected on my youth and younger days. This poet conveys a deep connection to what she observes and reflects on. I highly recommend Ms. Romano’s poetry book, and I really look forward to reading more of her poetry.

I loved Coffeehouse Meditations. As a Starbucks patron, I really enjoyed the coffeehouse poems---- I could visualize sipping my latte while people watching. Then in the second part of the book, Romano takes us to lands far away for a beautiful trip through her lovely poems. I recommend this book for poetry lovers as well as people like me who are more inclined to read fiction. It's fun to pick up poetry, understand it and be throughly delighted. Nina's poetry celebrates language--and all of our primal urges--love, intimacy, hunger and adventure. Her work is for any reader, not just poetry snobs! Romano manages to transmit reality in the face of everyday happenings in her poems. Things that pass us right by get snagged in her viewfinder.
