It always seems that about halfway through the semester, I need a reminder of why I want to go into nursing. And this book did not disappoint. I cried during the stories. I laughed. I sat back and thought about the impact we can make as nurses. I liked that there was a variety of stories and a variety of perspectives. It's sometimes nice to hear from patients rather than only from other nurses. Overall, this book was just what I needed as I gear up for my last seven weeks of nursing school. Wow! I found this to be surprisingly moving, poignant and heartening. A great read for any nurse, whether "seasoned" like this one (20+ years) or fresh out of school! It is truly lovely. ☺️ Wow! I love reading Chicken Soup books at the gym before work and this one didn't disappoint. Working in the medical field, I was excited to see that there was a second volume for nurses, though I am not a nurse myself. While there weren't a whole lot of humorous stories, not unexpected for the subject matter, there were definitely some that made me smile in a heartwarming way. Likewise, there were definitely many stories which brought a tear to my eye. If you are a nurse or know one, I highly recommend this book, as it is a reminder of all the wonderful things these men and women do when others are at their most vulnerable.

This volume contains the tell-all experiences of nurses, from rookies to experts and it also covers a wide range of nursing roles from school nurse to hospice nurse as well as the experiences of patients themselves. This book brought tears to eyes. Every pain is familiar and palpable. A dying patient. A newborn with extreme medical condition. Vehicular accidents. Patients with Cancer. Stories about hope, love and life. Somehow, I see right through them. One of those midnight reads. A lot of stories about pregnancy and young children which seemed to make up the bulk of many chapters. Would have liked to see a few stories on chronic illness in there but perhaps that's reserved for another book? A good read for people who need inspiration in times of sickness and suffering. I think what I have read was the 'first dose'. Nonetheless, I love the stories and the quotations before the beginning of each story. I like to read and to listen to stories about love, survival, hope etc.. I think what I have read was the 'first dose'. I enjoy the short experience stories of this book. As a nurse, I relate to many of their experiences, so it brings back some good memories. There are some experiences that are funny but mostly very heart warming.

Loved this book and all the stories. At the time of writing this review, I am a nursing student and all these stories confirmed the many reasons why I chose to become a nurse. Some made me cry, all made me smile. I hope there will be a 3rd dose!
