Absolutely horrible :( It says "This is the first part of the wildly popular erotic novel, Incubus Master" but it felt like a middle of a book. I checked and double checked and it certainly does say "Part 1" in what looks like independent series, but I am fairly certain there is at least a couple of books that came before "Incubus". I couldn't understand what was going on and why and was very confused by the end. Poor editing certainly didn't help. The writing didn't impress me at all. This is no-go author for me even if the series were lined up perfectly. There was also an insane amount of sex, for which I simply did not care. UPDATE I read more reviews. Apparently, this is not a stand alone series (or a book) *rolls eyes* You need to read Winter Demon and Dark Prince first, though I am not sure in which order.

I thought "Winter Demon" was the best yaoi series offered by Yaoi Press, so when I stumbled across this short story, which features Figaru from Winter Demon, I bought it. I'll admit - the 99 cents price tag significantly impacted my decision to take a chance. The story was very good. Readers are introduced to a new main character, Jinady. He's been held prisoner by a clan of incubi until he's rescued by Figaru. There are some interesting developments concerning Figaru, which are revealed indirec I thought "Winter Demon" was the best yaoi series offered by Yaoi Press, so when I stumbled across this short story, which features Figaru from Winter Demon, I bought it. He's been held prisoner by a clan of incubi until he's rescued by Figaru. There are some interesting developments concerning Figaru, which are revealed indirectly. In addition to the hot sex scenes (warning: there is some non-con) you'd expect from Yaoi Press, there was actually a story too! Readers need not have read Winter Demon to enjoy this, but it does add to the overall picture. There are also one or two illustrations in each novella that spice it up even more. However, a serious drawback to Incubus Master is the price. This first installment is only 99 cents, but hereafter each short story is $2.99 - and there are already 7 parts. That's almost $20 and I'm not sure it even ends with 7. And, this isn't like a series of independent long novellas. These are short stories, and each builds on the other as though it was one novel split into chapters. The second literally picks up immediately after part 1 ends, etc. Like when Stephen King released "The Green Mile." This makes it far more expensive than regular M/M fiction - or even yaoi novels that have multiple volumes. I'm torn - I really enjoyed the first three parts I have read (and ended up buying 4 & 5), but readers should consider the full cost before getting sucked in. I understand that these novellas are something of an experiment by Yaoi Press to help with the costs of a small press. And I'd like to support that effort. I love getting more stories with characters I enjoyed in yaoi manga (I ordered the Saihoshi sequel as well) But they should really considering lowering the price to $1.50 per story to make it more reasonable.

I'm seriously enjoying the build-up here. The author is creating an imaginative and believable world, and a compelling main character in Jinady. It's also pretty original. It's not sword and sorcery fantasy, though that's good too, and it's not like Aurthurian type fantasy, it's just it's own world. Not much is explained, but you aren't confused. You can just go along where the writing takes you. So far it looks like a land where incubus have the power and humans are used as food for them. The fi I'm seriously enjoying the build-up here. The first sex scene managed to be very arousing even if the characters didn't like each other. I've always liked the incubus concept, and demons needing sex to fuel them. It's also my thing for humans and demons to be getting together. I'm cool with tails and horns and stuff like that. It's kind of more sexy 'evil erotica.' The illustration was extremely naughty. It looks like pro art, and has that nice yaoi pretty-ness. I'm a fan of the writer's work from her Winter Demon series. I knew I was going to like this. I'm glad Kindle lets you get it on the PC now! Thrown straight in with absolutely no warm up to whatever is going on (some pretty man dude is made prisoner by incubus not succubus, in about as many words)... sex scene, end. Yep, about 20 pages long (I think) and three chapters with one graphic. I have to say that this was a little out there for me. And to be perfectly honest not particularly steamy or sexy as far as I am concerned. If you are going to publish porn in the written word I think that it should at least be good, hot porn. Soooooo strange book to start a year indeed....😀😀😀 Reading more reviews now I understand it would have been much easier to understand context if I have read Winter demon and Dark Prince. But it was what it was - clusterfuck of "what's happening? " We start with long term (1year) rape/slavery. Than our MC is saved and I'm like, ok, everything will start now!🤗 But noooooo we end up in the same shit again... everyone fucks everyone. And it's in slippery line near rape all the time. Sometimes that line is crossed.... and this is hard limit for me....🤔 Every character has so many previous interactions, secrets, sex/hate/love feelings with other characters that in the middle I lost track and desire to understand anything at all. In the end I found some time to power through it all to the finish line. Because there should be some light in the end of the tunnel right?? Ohhhh noooo it isn't. It ends with the cliffhanger. Cha! Suckers!🙄

Wow. It honestly doesn’t surprise me in the slightest the amount of shitty things about this book, especially coming from this author. I don’t know how many times I have to write it in my reviews, but clearly this author isn’t getting the constant Grammarly ads the rest of us are, because otherwise I’m sure she would have either bothered to actually fucking edit her shit for once, or let the program do it. Oh, and then there’s the plot and world building that barely make any sense to begin with. Wow. Oh, and then there’s the plot and world building that barely make any sense to begin with. Where do I even start with the holes that should have been explained. Do both succubus and incubus need to feed? Do the sucubus feed via killing or do they drink blood and if so, why is it only them and not the incubus? And then there’s the fact that all the rape is jusified because it’s okay to rape a rapist? Like what the actual fuck? Does that suddenly not make it rape?

3.5 OK, so I don't know if I don't have the whole first book or what, but the version I have (from Smashwords) only went as far as the first line of the description (Jinady was forced to be a sex slave to a tribe of winged incubi for a year when he’s rescued by the regal demon Figaru.) It ends with the group en route to the village. But at only 20 pages long the book would be hard pressed to accomplish all that the description sets out. Perhaps that is the description of the whole series? Perhaps that is the description of the whole series? I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of serialisations. But I thought that with the exception of the sex scene, which seemed to consist almost entirely of "oh," "ah," and "uhn" the writing was pretty good, the story was shaping up to be interesting and the single illustration was alright. However, at a nickel a page I am unlikely to finish the series unless I come across a legitimate free copy somewhere.

I really like Yamila Abraham works'. This is no exception. The 1st book I believe pulls you into the world the author creates for Incubus Master. I like how she mainly focus the P.O.V. of one character mostly to see through their eyes so you know only what they know. (It's not always the case, though, I guess P.O.V is limited... I don't know how to describe it) I personally think this was really effective regarding information you gather throughout the series. Short story or first part of a series where human Jinady is saved from murderous succubi and incarcerated as an incubi's...concubine would be the most apt term. The caves in a sheer mountain and no humans there his new life. When things happen and one Figaru enters and I think he will be a main character for future episodes. I'm going to get more of this to read when time. I have three starred it as short, and not a complete story, I would rather have a complete book. Very sci-fi/fantasy erotica. Unfortunately, a good part of the story was unclear as this is just a part of the line of stories. Definitely should NOT be read alone.
