Saw a dirt cheap copy of this in used bookstore. They also had a book by Stephen Fry for the same price and I only had money for one. This book is a book of Regrets. Most of these are hilarious and perfect for getting writing inspiration from. Some references flew right by my head seeing as how I'm not American. Felt some bemusement and gratefulness that I'm ace and have never been in any situations like these. It's like being an alien watching a train wreck. Saw a dirt cheap copy of this in used bookstore. A collection of text messages sent, presumably, late at night by the drunk, high, or otherwise inebriated. There were some doozies that made me laugh, but after awhile it was too much of the same thing (I think about 98% of these end in puke or other bodily fluids being spilled). There's really only so much you can say on the subject of being smashed out of your mind and waking up in a strange place next to the most physically revolting excuse for a human being ever. Or maybe it's just funnier if you spend more time inebriated, or high, or waking up in strange places with no memory of the events that transpired to get you there. I had enough around the chapter entitled, "Tequila" (which is about 40 pages short of the bitter end). Would have been more interesting, perhaps, if they'd also included texts that were just plain weird.

This one was, perhaps, a touch more entertaining than books based on websites tend to be. At least some of these were sent while drunk. There are multiple references to sex and booze and drugs, which is half the fun. The book is loosely grouped into categories, but well worth reading straight through. One massive mistake I noticed: so there's this final section of texts for all 50 states in the USA, with the text for each state accompanied by a silhouette of the state in question. Look at the text for Oregon. Yeah, that silhouette is NOT Oregon. It's Washington. (Yes, they repeat the same silhouette for Washington.) This is either some joke that I'm not getting, or a truly epic failure on the proofreader's part.

We've all done things or said things that we wish we hadn't, but what saved us from humiliation was that no one else knew about them. This book was great! I loved reading them out loud to my husband while he was driving on long car trips. This book is not for children to hear. We laughed out loud constantly. I even bought this book as a birthday present for my friend who is not much of a reader. My daughter says there is a web site with these also but I like having it in book form to take with me. This book can be picked up and opened anywhere to read from. It is separated into chapters of texts on similar topics. Hysterical!

This was okay. It was a good concept, but overall I didn’t laugh a lot. There were a few that I giggled or smiled at. Some my mouth dropped open because I was so shocked with what was texted. But overall I’m not sure this is my humor. I kind of felt like I was reading something in 4chan or reddit—a bunch of selfish, mean jerks texting each other. Some texts were mean roasts. Some were about drugs. I dont know—maybe you will find their selfish behavior and drunk party stories and bad decisions funny. However,I mostly was shaking my head in wonder at how helplessly stupid and callous and uncaring some people are. If the stories are true, then I’m a little sad with how low so many people stoop. It also didn’t help that I could imagine some people I have met, who I dislike, could easily text any of these things. Maybe you can too. Overall I recommend giving it a try. Some of it was fun and humorous and I like the concept. It’s a quick and short read. I got this from my library.

This book was absolutely shocking. The messages we send to each on a night of folly; some of the messages were just so outragous I honestly couldn't comprehend what was going throught the minds of the people that were texting. Having recently read Lauren Leto’s Judging a Book by its Lover and enjoying it I decided to see what else she had released and I came across this little gem of a book. It isn’t a big book by any means, I believe you would call it pocket sized but it is pocket sized full of fun. It is hilariously funny to the point that I was making funny noises whilst reading it as I tried to contain my laughter. If you read this book then I have a warning. I borrowed this from the library. yeah it's not exactly highbrow (not that my other reading is necessarily highbrow) and it's all available online, but it was free and Lauren Leto is my new girl crush so why not? classic feel-good sleaze in compact form. not to be read on buses, trains, or in front of overly sensitive elders, or basically anywhere where people are prone to reading over your shoulder. but it seems like a great educational resource for middle schoolers and a potential source of co I borrowed this from the library. yeah it's not exactly highbrow (not that my other reading is necessarily highbrow) and it's all available online, but it was free and Lauren Leto is my new girl crush so why not? classic feel-good sleaze in compact form. not to be read on buses, trains, or in front of overly sensitive elders, or basically anywhere where people are prone to reading over your shoulder. but it seems like a great educational resource for middle schoolers and a potential source of comfort after a night out. Is there an audiobook version of this? Dramatic readings preferred.

This book was funny... does that make me a blight on society.. maybe.. but who the hell cares. You only had a cell phone back when I was in college if you were a drug dealer, but had we all had cell phones, this book would have been a glimse into our world. I sent it to a few college buddies and they all agreed... we might not have been the brightest bulbs in the lamp but we had a great freakin time none the less..lol..

Pretty much the same stuff you find online but in print format. Still funny, mainly because I hadn’t read some of them in a while and because I can’t believe that there are people like this in the world. I recommend reading it in the bookstore instead of buying it. Most of the entries are still on the website, so it’s a skip unless you’re a major fan and would like a physical manifestation of the texts.

I did not follow the website, so I wasn't sure what to expect from "Texts from Last Night." Honestly, the catchy title drew me in and made me want to read this. It was funny and cute. An alarming number of the texts featured in the book originated from the area code in which I live, so that was pretty surprising. Anyway, I definitely recommend this for anyone who is having a crappy day and needs a laugh. It works! I did not follow the website, so I wasn't sure what to expect from "Texts from Last Night." While some of the entries were laugh-out-loud funny, I can't help but think, "Wow, there are some crazy, thoughtless people out there," and now there's a book (and website) that glorifies it. Many of the entries just had me shaking my head in disgust (I mean, who rubs poison oak on someone's sheets so that they can see who hooked up with who?). Sigh... This book is genius. I admittedly have never heard of the original website before reading this book. It kept me laughing on each page. It is a collection of the best drunken, party animal, stoners texts to friends or accident slips to the wrong people. I highly recommend this book for anyone who knows how to be silly and who's open to obscenity cause this one's got it all, man. This book is genius. This is an easy to read book for when you need a good laugh. Some of the jokes are not appropriate for parents, but they might just over their heads and they don't realize how dirty the message is. I love this book. I originally heard of TFLN through twitter, and then I bought this as a gift for a friend because it was exactly her sort of thing (and a few of these texts even reminded me of her!). She loved it, and we both got plenty of laughs from it. It's definitely worth a flick through, and is sure to entertain. I love this book. Well, these were pretty funny. But terrible. So many were just terrible. I had to read them with under the assumption that everyone was writing them with a heavy dose of sarcasm to come away with any hope for the future of humanity. That being said I laughed out loud so many times it was ridiculous.

Too much bathroom humor which I don't like, but (should I be ashamed to say?) I still thought this was very funny. I'm so thankful we didn't have smart phones, texting, etc. back when I was in my 20s! People will never again be able to deny or live down anything they *allegedly* have done...it is all documented now! Too much bathroom humor which I don't like, but (should I be ashamed to say?) What can I say, I absolutely loved this book. I pretty much carried it with me all day until I was done reading it. Several times I was laughing so hard that I was unable to breathe. The absurdity and stupidity of humankind rocked my world. This is a definite picker-upper for those bad days.

I was very disappointed by this book. I felt like I was reading someone's inside joke or things could have been funnier if I would have known the whole thing rather than a sentence or two.
