The eighth Bionicle graphic novel is unique in that it is made up of entirely original stories from the Bionicle universe instead of reprints of the comics that had been released. That in and of itself is enough for any serious Bionicle fan to pick this up. The three stories included in the volume, The Fall and Rise of the Skrall, The Exile's Tale, and All Our Sins Remembered, focus on the Glatorian, Agori, and the Skrall on either Bara or Spherus Magna. Greg Farshtey penned all three, and did a good job adding some depth to the universe by explaining some crucial backstory. The first two stories were illustrated by Christian Zanier, who captures the sets accurately. Stuart Sayger drew the artwork for the final piece - I realized I'm still not a fan of his style. It's very abstract at times and lacks detail at others. He tends to make the Bionicle characters look more robotic and mechanical than I feel they were meant to be. I found his depictions of the Elemental Lords to be interesting though. As I said in the beginning, these stories are entirely new and this is the only way to get them. They're not the most compelling stories, but if you're a completionist or want some more insight into the history of the universe, give it a read.
