I stumbled across the Landmark series in my research for my boys’ curriculum for this year. I got excited about what I read and decided to start collecting them without having ever read a book in the series. 😬 Well, this is my second Landmark book I’ve actually read and I’m loving them so far! This particular volume was fascinating and I’m planning on researching what has been discovered since the book was published. I may not agree with all the conclusions made but that doesn’t mean the book do I stumbled across the Landmark series in my research for my boys’ curriculum for this year. I may not agree with all the conclusions made but that doesn’t mean the book doesn’t have merit. It is a great extremely well-written starting point into researching early man for middle-schoolers as well as anyone who would like an interesting introduction to the beginning of our species.

Fascinating book. Has a interesting take on the age of earth. Very much evolution but with the age of the book it presents it much more as theory than books written with an evolutionary slant today. Written in story form it takes lots of liberties in filling in things we don’t know but just conjecture about ancient men. Brings up some very interesting discussion questions for reading along side a young person who is well trained to thing critically about that they read.

This was pretty good. It's easy to find in libraries near me. I'd like to see an updated edition with an afterward explaining what new things they know now.

This was so strange. It felt like a wacky radio play version of an inaccurate but enthusiastic anthropology pamphlet for dummies.
