Pre-read it before I gave it to my cousin. Definitely one he will love.

Not really well written. Crazy how they can recapture 6 villains so quickly. Really underestimates the challenges that these villains are supposed to create.

Someone clearly had a lot of fun writing a children's book for Batman and Robin's crusades. The puns are outrageous but they fit into the very young audience, reminders of cheesy lines from the Batman TV series. The artwork is such fun, full color, creatively detailed considering the audience. They did a good job to keep the kids enthused by breaking text segments into boxes and charts ala comic-book style. There's a nifty little intro of the main hero players before the book starts, then one for the villains as they break free. It's a short thing but should be perfect for the very young, who should find this book funny, lots of fun, well written for their age, and tons to look at if Batman is a hero of theirs. There's also the funny pairings for the villain that may sound plausible for little kids, but the adults know makes no sense at all, such as the Penguin going to take over the zoo.

This was a nice book to read to my special needs teenager whom loves superheroes and especially Batman. However, this one wasn't near as good as the others in this series of books. This one was kind of 'jumbled' for lack of better wording. All the villains (and I mean most if not all of them- 6) escaped from the asylum and they are all doing crimes within the city. Batman and Robin on every other page is catching one. There isn't really a story to each just that they go find them and catch them This was a nice book to read to my special needs teenager whom loves superheroes and especially Batman. There isn't really a story to each just that they go find them and catch them done, the end. No excitement to the story line etc like the other books. I found it to be to fast and busy for my liking, and although my son enjoyed listening and looking at the pictures I don't think he enjoyed it as much either. (Although we'll probably read it several times in the week we have it from our library) Not a bad book but not as good as the others in the Penworthy Batman series.

This book is an adaptation of the old Batman cartoon where he is pitted against the biggest villains in Batman history. Very nice.
