Garrett is a cop with a sense of humor and a submissive side. Dane is a doctor with a take charge attitude. Aaron is lost. I found myself tearing up and aching for Aaron and hoping he would take a chance with Garret and Doc. I really enjoyed this book. I felt connected to the three boys and the sex scenes were hot. The story itself is good although not completely solid. The missing info on the backstory is not crucial but it left me curious about Aaron. If gr had half stars I would have rated this on 3.5. Only because it was a little too short so it felt rushed. I wanted to spend more time (and I think it should have taken more time) with all three of them building and strengthening a full partnerhip/relationship.

Aaron has no one to help him he reluctantly moves in with the two men, and they do all they can to keep in a constant state of arousal in hopes of moving him from the guest bedroom to their bedroom. But Aaron is still grieving for his lover David, who died two years before. The story was nice, the guys were sweet, the D/s was mild, I guess it was just a little to short, I don't know I wasn't quite as invested in the guys as I wanted to be, but it was still a good read and I'm glad I got another m/m/m fix.

This was a well done m/m/m story, but I think it would have been so much better if it had been a full length novel and we could have really seen the relationship grow between these three. It was a nice story and I think the three of them fit well together.

Rating: 5/10 PROS: - I liked that at the start of the story, Dane and Garrett have already been discussing opening their relationship to a third partner for several months. It’s difficult when one man forms an attachment before the other and he then has to try to convince his partner to bring another man into their relationship. It’s easier when they’re already on the same page when they meet the third guy. - It also amused me how single-mindedly they pursue Aaron once they set their sights on him. CONS: - Aaron is recovering from a pretty serious motorcycle accident for the duration of the story and is in and out of drug-induced sleeping spells, so most of the conversations he has with the other two men don’t last very long. This means that they’re not very deep conversations, which also means that the other two guys are basically still strangers when they take him on as a full-time partner at the end of the story. - Everything happens too quickly. The guys decide they want Aaron based on a “gut feeling,” they broach the top of an unconventional relationship with him only a couple of times, he puts up a token fight before agreeing… There’s potential here, but it needed to be much more developed to be really good. Overall comments: I was drawn to the characters, particularly at the start, but after the first couple of scenes that felt brushed-over, I began to feel let down. And that feeling lasted through to the end. There’s some heavy, serious stuff here that really could have used a deep, intense story; the surface treatment it gets just doesn’t do it justice.

When I read the description of how Aaron lost his partner I wanted to cry out in pain for him… yes I know he isn’t real but it felt real. This book is a bit different then the last Annmarie book I read… and that would be this is a MMM book and the other one I read was a MFM but they are all the same to me with the hot erotic… Lost in a book is where I always want to be

This is a sweet story about moving on after the death of a partner. The sex is hot and the connection between the established couple is strong and evident while the grieving partner is sympathetic. The sex is hot and the connection between the established couple is strong and evident while the grieving partner is sympathetic. Mostly well written with a few holes in the story and emotional connection, nonetheless this is an easy, enjoyable story that will appeal to fans. Although this wasn’t entirely successful, it does open my eyes to a new author I’d buy again. The book opens with Aaron being involved in a dramatic and painful motorcycle accident. Nearby cop Garrett happened to see the accident and was the first on the scene. Garrett instinctively feels something for the injured Aaron, a feeling that is later reiterated by Garrett’s partner, Dane. Although the two have a full and very satisfying relationship, teasing into light D/s, they have been talking about adding a third and Aaron seems to be that person. Unfortunately Aaron’s not so sure he can love again. The story is a shorter novella (~85 pgs) and doesn’t do justice to the full concept in my opinion. The established relationship of Garrett and Dane along with their light D/s is well crafted and shows the strong love between the two. However, the reason for wanting a third in their relationship is never explained. Whether it’s due to their opposing schedules, wanting more variety in the bedroom, or another reason – this is a muddled part of the narrative. They are very receptive and instantly want Aaron into their relationship while knowing almost nothing about the man. This is a weakness in the story since within a month all three are deeply in love and that emotional connection is definitely missing. The declarations of love between Aaron and Garrett and Dane seem false and too soon. Part of this is due to the fact that the narrative skips over the recovery time in a few hops. This is to fast forward from the time that Aaron is unable to have sex to when he can fool around again but even this was too soon for his injuries. At the same time, supposedly the three men develop a deeper emotional connection but that is surprisingly never told or shown. Instead the evident lust dominates the story, which isn’t bad since the author can write smoking hot sex scenes and the touch of D/s is light and wonderful. The enjoyment of reading these scenes and the relationship between Garrett and Dane do help keep the story entertaining and somewhat makeup for the lack of a deeper emotional connection with Aaron. For his part Aaron is a sympathetic character struggling to get his life back together two years after the death of his partner. Aaron is trying to move on, which is admirable and sets him up to be open to the relationship between Garrett and Dane. However, Aaron’s only concern is whether he’s ready to be in another relationship and doesn’t seem to question where he’d fit in with the two men, or if jealousy is an issue or where he would be with the light D/s dynamic going on. The only real concern Aaron had was his perpetual horny nature coupled with an inability to properly masturbate. This definitely contributed to his emotional distance with the other two men but the witty dialogue kept this a quick, fun read even despite these problems. Overall I’d easily suggest this as a decent read with some fun, hot sex between gorgeous men. Although clearly Aaron would be too hurt to actually have sex so soon and the threesome wasn’t entirely established, that isn’t likely to turn too many readers away. You’ll still enjoy the narrative regardless.

This novella mixes two elements that usually are not my cup of tea, a D/s relationship and a ménages. And already you have probably understood that both elements are not dealt in an usual way, since probably it’s the first time that I found this mix, I think it’s embedded in a D/s relationship to not be a ménages, the relationship between a Dominant and a submissive is so tight and particular that it’s not easy to add a third party. And already you have probably understood that both elements are not dealt in an usual way, since probably it’s the first time that I found this mix, I think it’s embedded in a D/s relationship to not be a ménages, the relationship between a Dominant and a submissive is so tight and particular that it’s not easy to add a third party. Here it’s possible since, even if without doubt Dane, a doctor, has a Dominant attitude towards his partner Garrett, a patrol officer, for them it’s more a game, in the light version of the word, than a real 24/7 bond. Dane likes to order around Garrett when they are at home, and probably Garrett likes to be a bottom and doesn’t mind to “play” with Dane. Garrett is a gentle soul, it’s not wonder that he is a patrol officer, I wouldn’t be able to see him like a tough cop; he is more like a neighbourhood cop, the one who responds to the call of a nanny to save her kitty or something similar. On Dane’s side there is probably also an element of relaxing, to let it out all the tension gathered after a day as ER doctor. So no, Garrett and Dane don’t have an usual D/s relationship and for this reason there is space between them for a third man, they even say it aloud, that probably they need Aaron to fill up the void that sometime they have working different shifts: it’s not exactly a romantic explanation, but it’s one that probably works. Aaron is still mourning the loss of his partner David two years before, but he is probably on the rising slope, he is ready to move on, and Garrett and Dane stumble upon him in the right moment. Being incapacitate after an accident to which Garrett was a witness, help the couple to convince Aaron to go home with them to recover. The near proximity with a committed couple put Aaron in a continuous horny state, and since Garrett and Dane are quite clear in their offer to include him, Aaron has not even the “cheating” factor to help him. And since his mourning period was always at the end, neither that prevents him. It’s an easy victory for Garrett and Dane and Aaron doesn’t oppose much resistance. The only doubt that I had at the end of the story was what role Aaron will take in the relationship: even if Dane and Garrett play at D/s between them, it doesn’t seem to me that Dane did the same with Aaron, if not for being maybe a little more forceful than a normal partner. It’s possible for Aaron to have an ordinary ménages with them, while Garrett and Dane continue to play at Dominant and submissive? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002WTCIWU/?...

I was hoping for more with this book. There just wasn't much substance there or opportunity to really get to know the characters or feel connected to their situation. I originally gave this two stars because, going by goodreads star system, I felt that this book was "just okay." But then I started looking at ratings I've given other books and I felt that to be consistent with my own ratings in this genre I should bump it up, because I did like it more than a lot of books I've given 2 or 3 stars I was hoping for more with this book. Why it took me years to finally read this, I will never know. Starting Over was exactly what I needed right now! God, those guys! Hilarious, adorable and just super sweet. I just wish there was a little more, just a bit (or a lot). *greedy* It was super light on BDSM or rather D/S and I really wanted to see how their relationship will turn out now that they're three! :( *greedy greedy* Why it took me years to finally read this, I will never know. I kept coming back to this book to "read or not" for awhile now. What kept me away was that it was a novella. Boy was I surprised! I really liked this book. It was a surprise to see some of the dominance play through in the book as well. I can't really say that a three way relationship doesnt work in a dynamic such as Dom/Sub. 3.5 stars This is one of those stories that has such great potential to delve into the gritty emotions that come up in new relationships. Especially when one is in mourning. I really enjoyed this book BUT it would have been so much better as a full length novel. The relationship could have developed slower and emotions be explored. It was still a real worthy short story. But I want MORE. Yet another book that is marketed as BDSM yet you need a magnifying glass to find the kink in this one. It's a sweet little fluffy tale but so implausible that I can't really recommend it. If you want a 30 minute read that doesn't strain your brain then this is the short for you. If you like a believable plot; decent character development; & a realistic development of the relationship; this isn't the book for you. Not dreadful but definitely forgettable. Very entertaining novella. The story line could easily have supported a full novel. M/M/M - so the character development was a little rushed and can there ever be enough sex scenes in a menage book?
