Normally, this would be the part of the review in which I give a plot summary, but I don't really have a clue. Vampires, werewolves, the witch Bathory - her of the virgin blood bathing - and more plot lines and events in time and space than is good for a comic. It would have been challenging to get it all in one novel, but this is an entirely different format. So we have a few panels, then a panel informing us of a different time and country, a few panels, next change. So we have a few panels, then a panel informing us of a different time and country, a few panels, next change. Too much in too little space. I know I started reading this series about ten years ago, and that doesn't help, either. No attachment to characters, and I felt like the author and drawer Hans Steinbach assumes you would know far too often as is reasonable. Another problem is that every panel is overladen with details, which is good, but not everywhere we got panels around words so sometimes instead of being able to read, you have to search. This guy needed loads of practice as he wrote and draw this.

It's more than a little confusing. I have no idea who most of the people are and they seem to die so fast that it doesn't matter anyway. I have no real attachment to the characters, though I suppose I'm rather fond of Ein and Dahlia. I like the concept behind Ein. Sometimes I like the art, sometimes I don't. I’m loving this series! I’m reading each book in 20 mins. It’s my first manga I’ve ever read and it was a good start to the genre. I might pick up more manga in the future.

The plot seems to be coming together a bit better for me. And I finally got the Christine & Dahlia thing straight, had the names backwards I guess, last volume I was trying to sort out which was which & wondered if they were the same character possibly reincarnated or something.

It is okay, I think I was expecting a bit more. The storyline is a little difficult to follow.
