Unpopular opinion: I never liked Usopp going against Luffy for the Merri. I understand his feelings, but he never even stopped to consider that Luffy and the others were feeling the same

Absolute perfection. Love this volume so much. All of this drama for just a ship. Yet I care immensely. Pure brilliance. (It gets ruined a little bit later, but what happens here and now is still great).

This arc is so painful. First because of the Merry. And due to the tensions in the crew. I do think Luffy handles it as best as he can. But it hurts to read anyway.

(massive spoilers) This was a good volume, we continue with Luffy rescuing Usopp from the franky family and in a great bit of payback..he, zoro, sanji, chopper fight them to gain revenger for usopp and defeat them and its so cool, the art shines there and then we have Usopp recovering, Luffy says they will have to abandom "Going merry" ship, Usopp-Luffy fight over it and in one of the greatest moments of one piece, its their friendship on the line and the battle is emotional like anything but Lu (massive spoilers) This was a good volume, we continue with Luffy rescuing Usopp from the franky family and in a great bit of payback..he, zoro, sanji, chopper fight them to gain revenger for usopp and defeat them and its so cool, the art shines there and then we have Usopp recovering, Luffy says they will have to abandom "Going merry" ship, Usopp-Luffy fight over it and in one of the greatest moments of one piece, its their friendship on the line and the battle is emotional like anything but Luffy wins. Meanwhile Iceberg is attacked and so the suspicion is Robin with some masked guy and so its Carpenters vs Luffy while he is fighting Franky (whose a cyborg) and the battle is epic. There were some good moments in the volume like usopp-luffy fight and those memories they had and Usopp wondering what too do next, Franky fighting Luffy and he is entertaining like anything and the art and colors here were just fire and some of the best ever. Oda is bringing the stakes and emotions to another level with this volume!

5 Stars for sure. This damn Volume. I love this crew way too much and the plot is so freaking amazing. Water 7 is truly a worthy arc. I cried. I laughed. I love seeing all the connections and how several aspects of this arc are still relevant YEARS later.

The assasination of Iceburg was also shocking for everyone but not me of course, haha, I enjoyed this volume a lot. and yeah... 4 stars!

The good: -Usopp stubornness it was a good element in this volume, usually annoys me. -Usopp vs Luffy. -The nakamas are falling apart. -The concept of divide and conquer is teased for this arc. -What happen with the major of Water Seven. -Frankie's powers. The bad: -They are moving very slowly, the story of Nico Robin was only teased again, since the volume 33, they are teasing something about her but they just don't get to it. Volume 35 covers chapters 328 - 336. Things start to really ramp up in this volume, and it doesn't look like the plot will slow down any time soon. The Straw Hats' money was stolen, the Going Merry can't be fixed, and Luffy and Usopp can't agree on what to do with their ship. The first major fight between members happens, and it's as heartbreaking as the first time I watched this happen. This arc has some of the most memorable moments in One Piece. And the "collapse" of Straw Hats is one of them. The emotional part of the arc and tense moments between Luffy and Usopp. The good stuff! I was expecting it to be a little bit longer, but my memory mislead me. Wow! This might be the second most heavy hitting emotional moment of the series thus far, just falling under Nami's backstory! I don't want to spoil it, but its the first time we have seen a fracture in the Straw Hat crew, and the first time we see Luffy realizing the weight of being captain. Wow! More notes for personal use, not so much a review. - Probably the only reason why didn't get the full five stars was because it was DEPRESSING. I don't like it when Luffy cries, because it tears at my heartstrings. No, seriously. It does. - The Mugiwara pirates gunning for revenge was very fitting, though, and the Franky House got what was coming to them. NO MERCY. - Meanwhile, Iceberg, the mayor of Water Seven, has a bit of trouble with the government. Clearly they want something Iceberg has, but More notes for personal use, not so much a review. - Probably the only reason why didn't get the full five stars was because it was DEPRESSING. This obviously doesn't not sit right with Usopp because the ship did come from his woman, and there are a lot of memories on that ship. What can I say? The Mugiwara pirates are a bunch of sentimental people. It's adorable. - So, an argument ensues, which pits Usopp versus Luffy, and well...Luffy wins, Usopp leaves, people start crying. I just want to hug them all at this point. - On top of that, Aqua Laguna is coming, which is like...a huge storm that happens once a year. - On top of that, Robin is missing, Iceberg gets shot, and Franky goes after Luffy. Honestly, these pirates cannot catch a break!

4.5 I was not sure what to rate this vol. I was pleasentley surprised by how good this vol was! Emotions are running high as Luffy has decided to get a new ship. However, this causes tension within the crew members and ultimatley, it pits off Luffy against Usopp! Meanwhile, anything that can go wrong, does! There is an incoming high tide and now Robin is part of an attempted assissination of the Water 7 Mayer; proptmting the straw hat Pirates to become targets for arrest and attack! The emotion in Luffy and Usopp's fight was well done. Particulalry everyone else's reaction to the battle - tears, not being able to watch, yelling for them to stop, etc. Was so surprised at how easily and determined both were to end the other!! Their friendship seemed so easy and fragile to break, despite their strong ties. Also enjoyed the well thought out strategy Usopp used to fight against Luffy. He really gave it his all. All in all, one of the best volumes by far. Look forward to see what happens next! Especially seeing how things have taken a somewhat unexpected and dark turn!

For me, One Piece is best Manga ever written. The story always touch my heart, it is a combination of faithful friendship, laughter, loyalty and action. Some people might find this manga as silly and pointless (I’ve heard this before) but they never truly read the Manga and therefore judging it simply from the cover. I’ve been in that position too…and thank God I finally looked beyond the cover and found the greatest adventure any Mangaka ever written. After being told that the Merry-Go is beyond repair, Luffy and Crew turn their attention to the small matter of a massive amount of their loot being stolen. The loss exposes a weakness in the crew and soon they are forced to confront it. Meanwhile, outside forces make their move on Water Seven and Luffy & company get caught in the crossfire.
