I liked the whole idea of this book, but...it was just filled with too many sex scenes. Now how can there be "too many", you ask? When you start thinking "oh no, here they go again" then you know the lovin' is getting in the way of the plot... The plot: Beautiful, bosomy psychologist Belle strikes up a clandestine romance with her handsome neighbor Sean. Sean is a renowned, powerful U.S. Attorney General, about to prosecute a well-known terrorist (someone of the magnitude of Osama Bin Laden). Beca I liked the whole idea of this book, but...it was just filled with too many sex scenes. Because of his career and threats made against his life, Sean doesn't want to get close to any woman, and certainly not fall in love, because to do so may jeopardize their life as well. But Sean can't resist Belle, and Belle can't resist Sean. Belle is a virgin (technically) and Sean is determined she remain that way until the big trial is over. But that doesn't stop them from doing everything but...Oh yeah, they get verry creative. Things are going great, but then tragedy strikes. Sean is killed in a car bombing. Belle grieves for 15 months. But then one day while out walking her dog, she meets a handsome stranger...who reminds her of Sean. Jack Caldwell's his name, and he's a lawyer like Sean, and was best friends with him. Jack's a recent widower...but he has some secrets. Belle and Jack hit it off--there's definitely some mega sexual heat brewing. But is Belle attracted to Jack because he reminds her of Sean so much that she thinks he really is Sean? Or is she ready to believe that there's no logical way Jack could be Sean? That's about it. Jack does something that reminds her of Sean, and Belle thinks he's Sean. "you're Sean--why won't you admit it?" I'm not Sean--quit thinking that!" Jack gets mad because he doesn't like being compared to her great love Sean. Belle apologizes and insists she knows that Jack is not Sean...until the next time he does something or uses a phrase that only Sean would. Is he Sean or is he Jack? Is Jack really Sean or does Belle just wish he was? If only Jack would let Belle pleasure him orally, then we'd know the truth (seriously)! Jack is a rather dominant, forceful lover, and he convinces Belle that she's a perfect submissive. He takes her virginity, and then we're off to the (sexual) races! It's one creative sex scene after another, as Jack tries to sexually convince Belle that he's not Sean! "I'm going to f*** you. I'm going to f*** you the way that I f***--selfish and hard, the way that your precious Sean never would. I'm going to f*** you because you've got a tight, juicy little p**** and I want to blow deep in it." Yeah...that's our sweet-talker Jack. Anyhow, you get lots of scenes like that. Jack is going to do his darndest to make Belle forget all about Sean. Do you think he can? Does he have enough sexual tricks up his sleeve (yes, he does) to convince Belle that he and Sean are two separate people? Will Belle get her way and will Jack submit to her orally? Jack and Belle, ready to start 'exorcising'... Yes, these two are hot. Yes, Beth Kery can write a sex scene hot enough to make you squirm. My only problem with this book? There were too many of those scenes. They got in the way of the plot. Too much 'exorcising' Sean's ghost, if you will.:) The writing is quite good as it usually is with BK, the plot I enjoyed (although the ending was kind of far-fetched), and I liked the characters of Belle, Sean, and Jack well enough. Some tighter editing, and this book would've worked a lot better for me, moved a lot quicker, and would've earned another 1/2 star. I was entertained enough for 3 1/2 stars Warning: this book contains explicit sex--both oral and anal; graphic language; some spanking and light bondage; a dirty-talking hero; creative sex with a menthol candy stick and sex with the heroine's hair. Yes, you read that right. Not for the faint of heart.

4.5 stars I read my first Beth Kery book a few weeks ago, with this one being my fifth, and I can officially say that she has become my favorite romantica/erotica authors; if you like alpha heroes she's the writer for you, and no one writes hot and sizzling scenes like she does. I mean no one. Makes me turn up the A.C. and dig out my fan, but oh does she make it worth it! ;-) *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge First, let me say please don't judge a book by it's title, because I think this title is a 4.5 stars I read my first Beth Kery book a few weeks ago, with this one being my fifth, and I can officially say that she has become my favorite romantica/erotica authors; if you like alpha heroes she's the writer for you, and no one writes hot and sizzling scenes like she does. The main characters are likable, the chemistry between them leaps off of the page, there is some surprisingly good humor, and the book is well-written. The focus of this book is the developing relationship between Belle and Jack. Even the mystery subplot (is Jack Sean? is Jack Jack? etc.) revolves around them. I thought the subplot was very well-done. I had a theory early on, then we learn something that made me rethink, then I adjusted the theory and ended up being right after all. The thing is, it still kept me guessing, because although I was pretty sure I was right, I was never 100% positive. There are a few other books I've read that have a similar setup, where you're not really sure who the hero is or is not: Lora Leigh's Wild Card , Lisa Kleypas' Stranger in My Arms , and Christina Dodd's Lost in Your Arms . One thing that bothered me was the section where we're told about Sean and Belle's relationship once they get together at the beginning of the book. They're together for 3 months before Sean is killed and from what we're told about their sexual relationship during that time, it seems pretty uneven. Belle is a virgin, though she's in her early 30s, and Kery obviously wants to keep her a virgin until Jack, because the way she makes that happen is very contrived and transparent. I usually like inexperienced heroines, so didn't have a problem with that, but what I disliked was that from what we're given and allusions / flashbacks to that time, it seems like she was doing a lot of giving and not much receiving. That bothered me. Wasn't the case later on and that part takes up a very short section of the book, but still, seems an easy thing to change (or clarify) that I wish she had. { Purchasing Note } When I was browsing online to find where I would purchase this, I saw that it was $9.19 as a Nook book ... and $1.99 at the Ellora's Cave website. All of the other websites, even if they offer it cheaper than $9.00, still do not beat the EC website, so I would suggest you check it out. I've learned to check out their website to compare before buying their ebooks someplace else - would recommend you do as well! { Beth Kery Recommendations } * Wicked Burn (4.5 stars) * Release (4 stars) * Explosive (3.5 stars)

But as their relationship develops, she finds herself questioning her own sanity because of her crazy, impossible thoughts that this Jack Caldwell is actually her Sean Ryan! Of course, Jack becomes upset with her beliefs. He refuses to share her with a ghost and wants Belle to love him, Jack Caldwell! Will she continue to persist with these thoughts and push Jack completely out of her life? And that's what kept me turning those pages...I had to know! Now, I like steamy-hot romance, and this is erotica, but I felt this was such a fantastic basis for a story and wanted much more! From the beginning to the end there is lots of sex...pages filled with smokin' hot love scenes...so much that I too found myself skimming through to get to the story. (your review nailed this one Auntee!) I liked that their relationship was intense. I liked that their relationship was monogamous. I liked how Jack states, "You're Mine" in the throes of passion! There is a small amount of BDSM with consensual restraint (restraints ok:) and spanking (just not my thing:) And while the pages are filled with smokin' hot love scenes, I wished for more tender, loving moments with this couple. Still...even with "hair" sex, I liked it:) (And I believe this is my first read that included hair sex....lol)

Wow!!! Hot,but tastefully done and with emotion and heart!! Really liked the heroine in this romances she had character and depth. She was sweet but new her sexy side too. Great story. The H dies, their relationship was very brief, then h meets another man. Trouble is that she feels the same connection to the H as she did with the dead H. How can that be? Very short, sweet, steamy mystery. Enjoyed it a lot.

They start falling in love, and then he is killed by a car bomb. He was prosecuting a terrorist. A year later Belle still grieves for Sean but has dated others with no sex. Jack moves to town to work for a law firm doing mergers and acquisitions. He and Belle meet and are immediately attracted to each other. He reminds Belle of Sean. Most of the book is hot erotic sex between these two. He ties her up, spanks her, and includes rear door activity. Jack is angry with Belle when she accidentally calls him Sean. REVIEWER’S OPINION: I liked the overall plot, but it’s not developed much. Also there is not enough character development for me. Jack desires Belle because she is “the most gorgeous woman he ever laid eyes on.” Belle desires Jack for similar reasons. There were a couple of arguments/fights that didn’t do anything. I don’t know why the author put those in other than something to write about between the sex scenes. Most of the reading is lots of edgy sex. He’s the alpha dominating one. She easily submits to any and everything. I admit I skimmed some of the sex scenes. DATA: Reading time: 3 ½ hours. Kindle count story length: 4509 (398 KB). Swearing language: strong, including religious swear words. Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: 14. Setting: current day Chicago and Kenilworth, Illinois. Copyright: 2007. It was one of those books where I hadn't realized I reached the ending until I turned the page and there wasn't anymore. The rest of the pages were previews for other books. That being said I felt like the ending didn't really exist. I couldn't stop talking about the book over dinner with my bff so she asked to borrow it. Belle had only a few months of bliss with Sean before his death. Because they had to see each other in secret, she wasn’t even able to grieve as normal, a chance to go to his funeral or even to his grave site to say goodbye. A year later she’s dating a lawyer from a local law firm, but she’s tired of fighting him off at every turn. When she happens upon a handsome, mysterious man while walking her dog, she has such a visceral, sexual reaction to him, something that hasn’t happened since Sean, and Belle had only a few months of bliss with Sean before his death. Because they had to see each other in secret, she wasn’t even able to grieve as normal, a chance to go to his funeral or even to his grave site to say goodbye. A year later she’s dating a lawyer from a local law firm, but she’s tired of fighting him off at every turn. When she happens upon a handsome, mysterious man while walking her dog, she has such a visceral, sexual reaction to him, something that hasn’t happened since Sean, and it frightens her as well as arouses her. How can she want a man with the same ferocity she’d wanted Sean? Never thinking she would see him again, Belle is astonished when she learns that man is Jack Caldwell and is the new lawyer where her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend is employed. It seems Jack has the same riotous attraction to Belle as she does to him, and he bursts his way into her life with a sexual intensity that leaves her breathless and wanting more. But being this intimate with Jack plays havoc with her mind, she knows his body and hands already. Can he be Sean? Jack is incensed that Belle would think of another man when she’s in bed with him and he’ll teach her to think of only him making love to her, only him in her life. At last, good erotica that gives you a story along with it. Beth Kery does an excellent job of balancing the erotic with romance and plotting. No sign of gratuitous sex anywhere and she also gives us light but very interesting BDSM. Her characters have plenty of depth and are well written. I really enjoyed Belle and Jack. Jack is a straight talker, an upfront kind of guy and Belle learns so much at his hands. The concept of the story is one we’ve read before — to a point. We’re given twists and turns that keep it all fresh, however, and it keeps us reading. Kudos, Beth! Well done!

I had flashes of interest in the heroine and her story but the sex scenes overwhelmed the plot like sludge washing up on a beach. One of Beth Kery's early books, before she went into mainstream publishing and started churning out bland serial erotica-lite for 50 Shades fans, and one of the best. This was...weird. I liked it well enough, but it was an odd story. I can't really give any details without giving away the entire plot. It was a hot and engaging story, but I wasn't wowed by it. Also, one thing that kept coming up that made me laugh me was the heroine's skin being described as "apricot". Correct me if I am wrong, but an apricot looks like this: I just kept imagining her with bright orange skin! This was...weird. I liked it well enough, but it was an odd story. I can't really give any details without giving away the entire plot. It was a hot and engaging story, but I wasn't wowed by it. This sexy, romantic book was a terrific read. I couldn't wait to take this journey with Bella and enjoyed every page of this heartfelt story. Mild BDSM is included in some of the hottest sex scenes I've read in a while. I really liked these characters and was sad to finish this book. If you are interested in reading a lovely story with lots of passion and romance, take a look at "Exorcising Sean's Ghost". This sexy, romantic book was a terrific read. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. The story went from a bit farfetched to way OTT. Nevertheless, I was hooked from the beginning. The H is too die for. He was sexy, possessive, jealous, and dominant. There were some great sex scenes and some I was turned off by but I still liked this story immensely.

Entertaining for sure. Hot sex scenes. The scene with the candy stick was weird. But the ending was very sweet...and while I know a lot of people thought it was predictable, I didn't see it coming. :) That's all I will say. :) Entertaining for sure. Hot sex scenes. I read this because I am on a Beth Kery binge before the release of Exposed to You. This isn't a bad story. It's ver erotic and I liked the emerging relationship. However, the scene where Jack fucks Belle's hair was just weird to read. Given the cheap price, it was a decent read. Meh. Nice sex scenes but the heroine annoyed me with her constant "Sean is that you?! Sean? Sean? SEAN?" moods. Man, if I was Jack I'd have left a looong time ago. The heroine really really got on my nerves. Meh. Nice sex scenes but the heroine annoyed me with her constant "Sean is that you?! Sean? Sean? SEAN?" moods. Nice story but required a little to much suspension of belief.
