So here's the WARNING: DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNLESS you enjoy really depressing messed up stories where the happy ending you end up hoping for is the death or suicide of the main character which the author ends up on not delivering on. Yes. I was secretly hoping that the main character was going commit suicide just to end my torture of having to finish the book. I feel terrible saying that too but it's a fictional horror story, and it feels very fitting for this type of story. I keep on wondering why the author wrote this book. I wonder if she has a vendetta against the sparkly sexy vampire books. I haven't read Twilight but it does make me wonder if she wanted to write a book to prove a point or something similar to that. I read a lot of fantasy and romance books because I enjoy taking a break from the stresses of real life which this book did not do. Oh, and although there is sex in this book, I found that the hottest scene was the first scene with the boyfriend at the beginning who has nothing to do with the rest of the torturous story. ** Warning Spoiler ** Please only read this book if you think you would enjoy reading about how a normal girl can be manipulated into falling in love with her captor, who not only turns her into a monster (though I believe he was reluctant) but also impregnates her. Once that situation calms down the heroine and her captor uhhmm... sorta hero, who she now loves, are then controlled and raped by a religious nut in a cult. The crazy evil religious nut does end up getting away with it, since she just leaves after her man is killed. The story ends with her locked up and still pregnant. Uhhhggg is right.

This is a strange one. Lisa Lane introduces an unusual world where vampires live in a closed community run by an evil religeous nut. Our heroine, Karen, just finished her graduate degree and has gone to the family summer home to spend the summer and figure out what to do with her life. She arrives to find her parents have been delayed and that she must spend the night in the creepy house. She soon meets the evil vampire family that wants to destroy her father because he killed one of their own. This is a strange one. She arrives to find her parents have been delayed and that she must spend the night in the creepy house. She soon meets the evil vampire family that wants to destroy her father because he killed one of their own. She is turned by one of the sons for the purpose of having her father kill her. Billy, the son, is not as cruel as his father and decides to help Karen. Everything goes to hell pretty quickly from there. Karen escapes and misses the fate that befell her mother and brother when they are turned and killed by Daddy Dearest. This story takes twist and turns that baffle the mind. Billy can reach out to Karen on the dreamscape where he goes and steals the powers of other beings on this plane. Karen is on the run from Billy and his family and the reality that she is not only now a vamp but a pregnant one at that. Before Billy can find her, she is abducted by a man and his wolf as she continues down an Alice In Wonderland rabbit hole. Billy rescues her from the man and wolf (I use the terms loosely) only to innocently take her to the vamp community where they meet a destiny that forever changes who they are and devestates their relationship. This is a novella that moves swiftly yet covers an amazing amount of ground. There is graphic sex but the book is not erotica. I truly enjoyed this story because it is a fresh perspective, it's well written, and you really can never guess what will happen next. The love between Karen and Billy comes from violence and has many chilling qualities, thus I would not call it a romance book. Make no mistake about it, this story is dark. The book ends in a cliffhanger but two more books have already been published in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit differant then most vampire books I have read which made it unique. I like the way Billy and Karen interacted thoughout the book. And all the other characters throughout the book were very intesting. I look forward to reading the next two books.

I have just finished "The Darkness of the Night" trilogy by Lisa Lane And wow are they good …………….. They are called erotic novels and I certainty added a few extra facts to my education ……..(blush) …………. But then I am a lot more innocent than how I come over on my blogs ………… shut up I am! And no I am not going to tell you the bits took me by surprise you will have to read them yourselves! Well these are the very fist erotic novels I have ever read, and page 1 chapter 1 book 1 ….well if you can get I have just finished "The Darkness of the Night" trilogy by Lisa Lane And wow are they good …………….. Well these are the very fist erotic novels I have ever read, and page 1 chapter 1 book 1 ….well if you can get past this page without having to fan down your reddening face you will love all of it …… ………. I am no expert but I would say this is sexy chick lit and is fine for late teens er late, late teens ok ok early 20s onward, and the reason people may guess that it is female sexy erotic is by the title of the second book: Cosmic Orgasm ……….. male porn would have an entirely different type of title more about boobs. How can I explain myself? …. It is erotic chick lit in that it is not porn …… and it has lots of emotions in the plots …………. Heck this is hard to explain ……….it is the difference between male and female sexual fantasy ok ………….. you try and explain that and you have your own answer……… all I can say is that it pushed my buttons on being a good read. So on with the story while I cool down ……………. It is good ………… very good the plot evolves nicely between the 3 books starting with the main character becoming a vampire in book 1 through to a climax of the plot at the end of book 3.

One star is a star too many. I wonder how this book, and I use the term loosely, got out of its author's drawer and published. A shopping list is way more exciting and a cardboard figure in the dark has more depth. Nothing makes sense outside the author's wish. Notice to readers: rapes galore maskerading as love...plus rape of the usual kind. Moreover, it starts with a sex scene and end...well, it doesn't end.. There's simply no more story.
