Sarah from Rain on the Roof introduced me to Class Comics some time ago. I’ve been hesitant about buying since I’m not sure of the electronic format but I took a chance. I bought 2 comics and the process to read them isn’t exactly painless. Is it worth it though? Read on and decide for yourself. A few things to know out of the gate. Should you choose the electronic route like I did, the comics are DRM. Class offers its own software to read the comics and when you make your purchase, they send you Sarah from Rain on the Roof introduced me to Class Comics some time ago. I’ve been hesitant about buying since I’m not sure of the electronic format but I took a chance. I bought 2 comics and the process to read them isn’t exactly painless. Is it worth it though? Read on and decide for yourself. A few things to know out of the gate. Should you choose the electronic route like I did, the comics are DRM. Class offers its own software to read the comics and when you make your purchase, they send you an email about how to download and install the software. This is incredibly easy and hassle free but the complication comes that it requires an activation code to read your comics on it. This code is manually sent to you by Class Comics during their working hours. So if you’re like me and feeling like you want some visual porn in the form of comics at midnight, think again. You’ll have to wait to read them even if you buy instantly. The code came the next day and once you click on the link, you can read your comics happily. This is not a labor intensive or complicated process mind you, but also not the ease of instant gratification that electronic versions usually offer. The first comic I chose based on Sarah’s recommendation is Initiation #1, Higher Sex Education. Judging from the donkey dicks on all the covers of Class Comics, I wasn’t expecting much more than visual porn. That’s exactly what Initiation offers, no more and no less. Initiation loosely uses a new college freshman as the basis for the story but really there is nothing but identical bodies getting it on in various situations. The dialogue is stilted whenever it’s rarely not a sexual expression or moan or slurp. There’s no character development or plot line, this isn’t a comic in the regular sense. There are different setups that stay true to college fantasies from the professor getting it on with two students to a frat house with some typical paddling and punishment scenes. There’s an interesting and creative scene with a double ended dildo that’s totally unbelievable but who cares? It’s still hot. This is pure visual porn in near orgy conditions. So going off that definition, does the story deliver well for what it is? The sex is pretty hot and delivers to those fantasies that enjoy the depicted body type. It skips over the boring aspects of college and focuses on those fantasies most have. Remember your teacher giving you a bad grade and you secretly wanted him to spank you for it? Yea it’s in there. The colors and details occasionally feel too simplistic and the background detail unimportant. The artist seems to have chosen to focus on the bodies, the sex, and less about the surroundings. Since that’s the focus of the story, I can’t really say this works against it but it does create a somewhat blah feeling at the end. Nothing bad but nothing especially memorable. This is especially true with the busy panels that are filled with so many bodies that it feels almost a blur at times. I appreciated the comic more when there are fewer people in each panel and less of an overwhelming orgy. The other compliant I had is all the bodies look near identical. Now, I figured they were all going to be donkey hung and they are, but they are also allchiseled, slender, hairless bodies that blend together. I had a hard time remembering who was who – not that their names are really important – since they’re virtually identical. Perhaps when all you care about is sex, sex, and more sex for purely visual pleasure, this doesn’t matter at all. Up to you to decide. As a shift from the predominantly superhero stories featured on Class Comics, I think regular readers will really enjoy something more contemporary. It offers the visual porn that readers want and likely will greatly enjoy without worrying about a plot. It’s a nice change of pace and succeeds in being simply hot. I enjoyed it but forgot about it almost immediately. Thankfully I can –now- get instant gratification with the comics so I’ll try the second comic I bought (Zahn .. all those piercings. Yum.) and perhaps a more superhero dominated one to see.
