A lovely read! I read this book in stages, wanting to digest it slowly. I liked the idea of keeping each region that Schultz visite distinct in my mind, so read one section and then mixed in another book, followed by another section. Schultz is a lovley writer and her capacity to capture small town prairie life at the beginning was astounding. I also thought the point where she described the struggle of an American soldier visiting Hong Kong was quite poignant. All in all, a great read from an A A lovely read! A beautiful view of what it is like to see China through the eyes of someone who has always dreamed of the journey.
