The first half is like the third of four "Norman Osborn escapes!" stories. It fails because Spider-man fails to consider Osborn to be a menace. And so then it's not clear why anyone would consider him to be a menace. (view spoiler)[ This is especially weird because of where the Peter Parker character ultimately goes. Dead from a Norman Osborn escapes! (hide spoiler)] The second half -- we finally learn that Liz Allan is (view spoiler)[ Firestar? I guess (hide spoiler)] It wraps up some loose ends The first half is like the third of four "Norman Osborn escapes!" stories. It fails because Spider-man fails to consider Osborn to be a menace. I seem to recall not liking these stories as much in singles the first time round, but read here there's a lot to like. Partly it's the switch to Stuart Immonen on full time art duties. At the time I was really against his style but I've come around. I still don't like his human characters as much, Pete in particular looking a little odd on occasion, but his action scenes are incredible. The stark black outlines, slight angularity and so awesome Spidey shots really sell it. The stark black outlines, slight angularity and so awesome Spidey shots really sell it. The scene with Pete, GG and Kitty falling from the building are brilliant, creating real tension. I still think the Goblin story is a little underwhelming but it does draw it up and the ending is nicely handled. Short, shocking and succinct with the aftermath placing in the classroom for some emotional effect. The second collection involving Johnny, Bobby, Liz and her new found mutant powers (settling something that has been brewing for a long time now) has some great character moments (with Kenny in particular) really highlight what makes this series so different. The Omega Red story seems a little redundant but the Shocker story adds nicely to Herman's already pathetic character with some real pathos. A slim but good volume, with pay-offs for the fans, leading up to the end of Ultimate Spider-Man. Well, for a short while anyway.

I was a little underwhelmed by the Green Goblin story. I kind of felt like a repeat... It was interesting to see how Fury's absence plays out. I assume it's from what happened in Ultimate Power. I, as always, enjoyed the teenage melodrama. Especially now that it's more than just Peter Parker that's a super hero. And it was very interesting to see Kenny's character get fleshed out some more, as well as the shocker. It really feels they are working up to something big with the Roxxan corp, but at t I was a little underwhelmed by the Green Goblin story. I kind of felt like a repeat... Although I don't like Stuart Immonen as much as I liked the previous artist, he is almost as good. I think my favortie thing about his art is the way he has the thicker black outlines around characters, it makes them stand out and look really good.

I really enjoyed it. It was really well-written and the pictures are great. I really like spiderman and comics, but if you don't really like comics then you probably won't like this. One of the things I really liked about this volume is that is includes a lot of other characters too, including the X-men and the Human Torch. If you like comics, read you'll probaly be satisfied with this comic series. I really enjoyed it. It was really well-written and the pictures are great. Nearing the home stretch for the series and it's... amazing how little time has passed in-world. Kudos to the team for being principled and working to wrap this story up at an appropriate time. This entry was good, particularly because of how well it integrates the mutant storyline with Peter Parker's. Another fantastic volume of the Ultimate Spider-Man collection. At its best, the volume was very good; the Osborne plot, the tragic classroom scene and the development of the Shocker were really well done. At its worst, this volume was very bad; the plot of issue 120 was painfully forced and not done well. Mostly, the volume was alright.

The Ultimate Spider-Man series is a fun read, with fun art. If you've gotten this far in the series you already know you like it, so no need of reviews really.
