Christ on a cracker! There were so many OMG, WTF, and Oh no he didn't moments that I don't even know where to begin with this one! Just when you think this series can't take another turn, the author throws another twist right into the mix. Rafe and Isa, after discovering a new piece to the puzzle, return to where it all began - Chicago! Think you had it all figured out at the end of book 2? You're in for a surprise lol! There were so many things I did not see coming and new wrenches are thrown in that take the story in a whole other direction! This series just gets better with every book. The push and pull and the fiery romance between Rafe and Isa ramps up even more in Until Retribution Burns. I love Isa and her growth has been phenomenal thus far, but I feel like we still are waiting for that one moment where she emerges as the queen she is and shows her true power to those seeking to destroy her. I want to see her step out of Rafe's shadow and show that she's not just his little woman kept at home from harm. I want to see her protective instincts and that fiery temper come out in the face of their enemies. Can we, just for a moment, talk about Rafe?!?! At first, I was like he's so jealous and possessive (insert starry-eyed stare) but I think we've moved WAYYYYY past that now! This man gets better and better! He will gladly punish or kill anyone that touches, wrongs, or hurts his woman be it friend or foe. He wants to stamp his ownership on every inch of her body and in every way conceivable so that anyone looking at her knows exactly who she belongs to. Oh wait, it doesn't end there. He ALSO wants HER to stamp HER name on every inch of HIS body so anyone looking at HIM knows exactly who that delectable body belongs to! *Swoon* He's unapologetic about it and at times he takes it a bit far. Still, he recognizes his faults and doesn't hide his true nature. And if there was an Olympic sport for sex, this man would win every freak gold medal available! This series has hands down some of the HOTTEST freaking sex scenes I have ever read! Adelaide Forrest deserves her own gold medal for thinking this stuff up! I am both excited and terrified to see where she will take us in book 4!

Just keeps getting better! The plot thickens! Isa and Rafe are on the hunt for answers, but danger lurks and it will keep you on your toes! Until Retribution Burns starts at the exact same moment that Until Forever Ends leaves off at. It starts at a major "what the F" moment and ends on ANOTHER "what the holy hell" moment. Rafe is the alpha of all alphaholes. With each book, I keep thinking that he has hit his peak; what ELSE could he SURELY do, right? Wrong. I am so very, very, very wrong. Rafe is determined to make Isa his in every way possible, with whatever mark possible. But, crazytown isn't a one-way street. He is just as obsessed with marking HIMSELF as hers. I have to give him some major props for his level of commitment and dedication to the "what the F". In this book, we find out the true story behind Rafe's father's obsession with Isa. And, of course, Rafe has his fingerprints all over it. Isa has major bomb after major bomb dropped on her in this book. But, surprisingly (or not, after all, this is Rafe's reina) she comes out swinging stronger on the other side. The end of this book...apparently Rafe is rubbing off on me because I have a perverse sense of satisfaction. Someone is about to get their just desserts and I am going to love reading every minute of that. Assuming that, if you are this far in the series, you are well aware of the triggers. To say this book is dark is like saying that the sun is bright. But, if it hasn't hit any triggers yet, it most likely won't by this point. Can't wait to read Book 4!!!

4.5 stars Rafe is back and just as possessive as before but now his princess is transforming into a queen as they both uncover some secrets in their respective history. I continue to enjoy this quasi mafia romance of these made-for-each-other lovers. This book, this series, continues to deliver on fiery steam with Rafe’s dominating prowess — probably one of the more sensual series I’ve read. Another biting cliffhanger as I look forward to the next book and Isa and Rafe’s realization as this series concludes.

We pick up where we left off with that cliffhanger in Until Forever Ends with Isa’s freak-out surrounding that picture. The crazy keeps getting crazier, and the obsession keeps intensifying. This books basically takes us back in history and we delve deeper into not only Isa’s accident and Rafe’s childhood, but how the families crossed paths in the past and how they might relate to each other following Rafe and Isa’s marriage. Rafael is still a lot. I love an alpha-hole as much as the next girl, but this man is a lot. He’s over-bearing, overwhelming, dare I say selfish too. He’s just over-everything. I get that he loves Isa but sometimes he was unfair. While he claimed to have her best interests at heart, it sometimes felt like he failed to empathise or even listen to anything that she wanted or thought about anything. He wanted everything from her, and he wanted it now, while he gave very little back. He kept secrets and God help Isa is she dared to react or feel deceived by him. When the details of that photo were revealed and Isa run away from him, did that really warrant a carving? Especially because he’s keeping secrets that are a lot more lifechanging than anything she’s ever done. And I’m sure Isa won’t be allowed to process her feelings about them when she finally finds out or react in anyway at all. Isa on the other hand, while I loved seeing her growth since she’s been with Rafe, I do wish she could grow a spine when dealing with him. She can’t seem to hold him accountable for anything. When she found out what Rafe did when she was unconscious, I expected more from her reaction. If someone did that to me, there would be hell to pay. If I couldn’t get to him, and clearly, she can’t get one over Rafe, I would fuck his shit up at least. You know, cut his designer suits into strips and set that shit on fire, slash his tyres, break a few windows, chug his whiskey down the drain, bust a few windows. I know its juvenile but at least I won’t just exist and be a spectator in my own life like Isa and it would make me feel better. Do that a few times, it’s bound to change something I know Rafe wouldn’t have let it go on for long but fuck me, I sure would have tried. She just carried on like such a violation had not been visited upon her body. Can I just say Because without it, I don’t know what would become of these two and their marriage. Is Odina’s behaviour really simply because of what happened to them when they were kids? Her reaction seems way excessive for something like that. Did something else happen to her to cause such hatred and self-destructive behaviour? She’s a lot but I think what Rafe did in that cliff-hanger was fucked up. But no bother, I’m sure Isa will forgive him easily enough. Also, who’s charred body was in Isa’s dad car at the gate?

Even though Rafael says that things are different this time, that he is as much shocked as her, she is inclined not to believe him. They have no option but to search for answers now. Overall Opinion : Holy shitttt… I don't think I can ever have enough of Rafael. The man is literally at the top of all anti heroes for me! Adelaide Forrest strikes again! It astounds me the way this author always writes such amazing books! This series is my top read by her and by God, it just keeps on getting better and better. I don't know what to think because she doesn't give us any clues! Every book, every chapter is a shock in itself and I can't even tell you guys how much I am loving it. The ending of this book is a cliff hanger too and I can't believe the ending myself. I am back to square one now, begging this author for my next fix for this series!! I need it sooooo much. I would highly recommend this series to all the psycho hero loving people! Rafael is someone you don't want to miss meeting. She's naive at best, gullible teenager looking to be herself and stop pleasing her family in all probability. But is she really being herself with Rafael? He's molding her to like his sexual tastes, how he likes his woman to dress (yes she's unable to select her own knickers ffs!!), where she goes and what she does is all meticulously controlled by him. At one point the book insinuates that maybe she has as much control of him as he does of her. This is utter nonsense. Rafael is obsessed with her, and she certainly has no control. This story isn't dark, it just pathetic. A dirty old man obsessing over a teenage virgin. It's like tasting an unripe strawberry, until you taste a juicy ripe sweet strawberry, how can you compare? I doubt Isa would be given the breathing space to compare. Their relationship grated on my nerves throughout most the book, however something happened 70% in that I couldn't cope and skim read to the end, to be done with it. I don't know if I'll read the next instalment, a small part of me wants to know what happens, a bigger part of me doesn't want to read anymore of the toxic relationship between Isa and Rafael. I love a dark romance where the woman grows a backbone (and doesn't succumb to whatever she's put through because he made her cum), and the man shows cracks of weakness because the love he feels softens him, whether he like it or not. Its almost like a transformation between the two, as the female strengthens, the male softens and they meet somewhere in the middle. This series unfortunately has no female empowerment (unless Rafael allows it and calls Isa 'mi Reina'.. although he's also quick to point out it will always be on his terms). It's just one way traffic from the sociopath besotted with Isabel, not my kind of dark romance.. if you can even call it that.

This book has left me speechless! I am having such a hard time composing a review because I don’t know how I’m feeling about this third instalment of Beauty in Lies series. I felt uncomfortable reading this want some respite somewhere in the book and almost feeling like there may be a moment of levity and then not. And yet, I couldn’t put this book down! I think I’m still in a bit of a book hangover from Until Retribution Burns. The story only get more dark, intense and twisted. It’s revealed that Isa and Rafe’s pasts have always been intertwined and now, they need to figure out what was Miguel’s bigger end game. The set up a perfect, the story is written flawlessly and the author Forrest has such control over her characters it down right chilling. I’m in complete awe! Il Diablo scares me and I’m scared for Isa, but she has more power and control over her husband than she thinks, her way to achieve this may be to become just as dead on the inside as Rafe is... That is if Rafe ever lets her. I need to give this 5 stars. It’s nothing like I’ve ever read yet in the comfort of the dark mafia romance reads that I love so much. As Forrest goes to test Isa’s limits, I felt like she was also testing mine, and well, I only respond in two ways when an author tests my limits, if they’ve skillfully crafted this in their writing, it’s an automatic 5 star read. The alternative is I DNF the book. This is certainly a book that I couldn’t DNF. But, if you have triggers, heed the warnings. They are very clear and at the start of this book. For those who love having their reading boundaries tested, enjoy, this a truly a reading treasure!

Adelaide Forrest masterfully sets the perfect environment for shattering secrets, uncovered truths, lies, deceit, lots of action, extreme and dangerous circumstances and some gore in the middle, keeping the readers wary and engaged to figure out where, in reality, the couple's connection truly began. At an emotional level, we get to see Isa's aknowledgement about herself, her sense of morality and where her loyalties lie, finally addressing that her before was not her at all, rather someone that lived and behaved for the others. Even in Rafe's 'clutches', Isa now has the freedom to embrace her nature and completely stop pretending, something she did her whole life. Rafe has secrets too, burdensome, things he concealead in order to preserve Isa from the fact that nothing was as she always believed, but will these skeletons be their downfall? How will Isa regard Rafael's demands of absolute truth when he, himself, holds so valuable information that she has no knowledge about, but is bound to discover? A very well formulated narrative with everything and everyone perfectly placed in order to fortify the plot and energize the web of intrigue, actively involving the reader in the quest for answers and possibilities, because, at this moment, we all want to know! In the end.....the sureness of more twists and turns and the most sought-after Grand Finale! I received an ARC and am voluntary leaving my review. All opinions are my own.

While there, Isa was also able to see her family, and this only serves to show how different she is from them now. The world that she's built with Rafe is much more passionate and she's able to be herself a little more, but she's also constantly in danger. I like that this book was focused more on Isa, and she's able to interact with her family and friends; it really shows how she's changed from being a "good" girl who was always perfect, overcompensating for her twin's actions. Isa's mom expects her to be the perfect daughter, and her grandmother expects her to continue her Menominee heritage, but they rarely let Isa live her own life. This book shows the chasm that's now between them, and Isa standing up for herself shows her growth and also her loyalty to Rafe. Rafe continues to be the same: he's merciless towards his enemies, overprotective towards Isa, unforgiving and unapologetic about his actions. He still has a lot to learn about his relationship with Isa, and he really needs to treat her like the queen he continually calls her. There's still secrets between them, and has to learn to treat her like an equal rather than an object he puts on a pedestal and must protect. We find out here that Rafe has actually known Isa for much longer than we think, and I can't wait to see all the parts of their past revealed. "And what was love but a mutual obsession?" TW for dub consent, torture. Dark romance.

We also get to see more of Isa’s family and their reaction to the marriage which I’m sure you can imagine how well that goes lol. A not so shocking surprise also occurs that I can’t wait to see unfold more after everything Rafe has done since he abducted Isa originally. Plus we get to see some of our favorite Bellandi’s which is another amazing series so yay!!! We of course get kicked off a cliff at the end but thankfully it was a little less of a heart stopper then the last one. (Please don’t take that as a challenge in the future Adelaide). I cannot wait for Until Death Do Us Part comes out which will be the final book in the series. Fingers crossed Rafe and Isa finally get the HEA they both deserve after all they’ve been through in the past.

This series gets better and better. Oftentimes, in series that have numerous books in them on the same couple, there is a tendency to let off the steam or have the quality of writing seem tedious because the story runs out of impact. I wasn't sure that the Bellandi series could be topped in regards to the over-the-top personality of the leading male. I was wrong. I shouldn't love Raphael as much as I do but, sweet holy titfire, there is something about him that I LOVE. I, also, appreciate that Isa is the perfect match for him. These two are passionate and I love that. This book continues the mystery of what has been plaguing this couple and the things that are discovered in this book are doozies. I thought I had it all figured out but nope, not even close. I like it when a book does that. I also love the possessiveness of Rafe that borders on almost obsession in regard to Isa. I cannot wait to get answers in the final book. I cannot recommend this author enough. There is a reason that she is one of my favorites when it comes to Mafia-type romance. She isn't sugar coating anything and manages to show the fierce loyalty and passion for family mixed with the criminal underbelly that will do anything and everything to protect those that they love.

I usually avoid duets, trilogies or, in this case, four books but like many @adelaideforrestauthor fans I started with the Bellandi boys and, well, they were the gateway drug into Rafael and Isa’s story especially after she popped a teaser in one of the books. Anyway, Until Retribution Burns answers many questions left over in Book 2 but not all of them. This is Book 3 of the devilishly enticing 4-part series. To be honest, I’ve read only upto trilogies so far, and I feel that in a long series, sometimes stories tend to drag, and I’m rushing through to reach the final revelation. But for this series, the journey is so enthralling, I’m in no hurry to reach the destination! The main reason for this is the character development! But for this series, the journey is so enthralling, I’m in no hurry to reach the destination! The main reason for this is the character development! Isa’s character has come far from what she used to be, or what she “had” to be; shocking everyone (sometimes even herself) in the process. As more of her layers unravel, and she transitions from the currently ostensible Queen to the actual reigning ‘Mi Reina’, this game of chess will take an interesting climax! “Isa was a queen of nightmares, finding her home in the darkness within me.” As for Rafael, he is just as villainous as he used to be, but in case anyone has doubts, this book will remind you why he is ‘El Diablo’, the DEVIL. He's grooming Isa to become powerful, but it will be interesting to see how he reacts when she truly achieves it. Special mention to Adelaide Forrest for the chemistry between Rafael and Isa. Even at book 3, it’s just as fresh, exciting.. and dangerous! Warning: This series is not for sensitive/faint-hearted readers, and it’s one big story, so please start from book 1!

I never write reviews but for this one, I'd to. I'd so much hope for this series when I read the first book. But all went spiralling downward in book 2, and book 3 just pissed me off. A story can be a dark romance without relying on abusive theme. And this one, out of hundreds I've read, just crossed the line. Really? Will it kill y'all to be a bit more realistic? Why do you have to turn the heroine into a mindless nymphomaniac everytime the hero pulls shit like this so you can continue with the story? It's abuse, it's not pleasurable, and it's certainly not pleasurable to read. In the first book, I expected the heroine to be a fighter, but she greatly disappoints in subsequent books. It pissed me off that the hero gets away with all the abuse and the heroine doesn't makes him work for it. This theme would've been fitting if Rafe was the true villain and in the end, the heroine would've managed to kill him, run, get therapy, and live her life or just died. But we all know, Rafe is the anti-hero, and no matter how shitty the way he treats Isa, they'll still be together in the end, all will be forgotten with an orgasm.

This series just keeps on getting better and giving me more constantly!!!! We are back with Isa and Rafael, and boy oh boy are we still on this emotional rollercoaster with these two!! After that bombshell at the end of the last book, we are now finding out just how evil Rafael's father was!! We learn more and more in this book about Rafael's past and his upbringing, and also what drove him and Isa together too. We also get to see more of Isa's family in this one too which was nice. This series has had so many twists and turns, ups and downs and I honestly can't fault this series! I've devoured every one and I cannot wait to see what book four brings as this one also left us a big mahoosive cliffhanger!!!! Isa has grown so much in such a small amount of time between books and I love her so much, and do not get me started on Rafael, Jesus lord Mary and Joseph he's something else!!!! But by god he is everything you could wish for in a Primal, Dominant male lead!!!!! He is possessive when it comes to his mi reina, and will kill anyone who touches Isa or even dares to come close to her. I honestly cannot wait to see where book four takes us, cause I really don't wanna get off this rollercoaster at all and I know I'm gonna get a bad case of book hangover when this series comes to an end!!!!

Traveling back also brings Isa’s family and her best friend Chloe back into the equation and shows how they deal with Isa being married to Rafe. One of my favorite parts of this book is how Isa stood up to Chloe. My favorite line from the book is something Isa says to Chloe about making choices: “you can’t want me to make my own choices and then complain when I do.” Isa is young but she is growing into herself. In this book, Isa and Rafe finally talk about some of the things that happened while she was unconscious. To me, it was unsettling with how she just let it almost go. Sure she was mad, but not indefinitely. Taking her choice away. It just wasn’t what I thought would happen. The ending like I said was a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what will happen with Odina.

Wow!! I just love the direction this story is going! It is dark and twisted in every sense of the word! There is so much action and plot progression in this, the third book in the Beauty in Lies series! The tension and angst between Isa and Rafe is almost unbearable at times. How can one man be so dark, possessive, dominating, controlling, manipulative and yet still sexy as sin?? Seriously he gets better and better with every book!! I love how despite who and what he is Isa still challenges him at every opportunity! I just love the push and pull between them and especially Rafe's reaction when Isa pushes him too far!! This series is literally one of the best ever with all the right feels for a dark romance! At the end of every book i am left begging for more.......roll on book four, it cant come soon enough! Wow Adelaide Forrest again make her magic trick and I'm in trans after finishing the tird book. From now I will say again that Raphael Ibara is number one! I didn't read never in my live such a character like him. Maybe I will repeat myself over again but he is the love of my life literally! I adore him and his crazy mind. For anyone else maybe his method for showing his love and care are mega extreme and they can't tolerate such a behavior like his, but to me he is perfect in every way. The meeting with her family was painful, but I was glad that she make perfect klear to all that she love Rafe and will never left him. In the book there were a lot more things that surprised me a lot, but of course Raphael handle them again. And of course the end! This cliffhanger literally finished me in all ways. I don't know how I will survive until the last book be release. I had the opportunity to receive an ARC and this is my honest review! Thank you again Adelaide Forrest for this experience.

I have been wracking my brain on how I could do a review on this book and give it the credit it deserves. Adelaide leaves you wanting more. Loyalties are tested. The question is....can you handle the burning flames with Isa and Rafe? I would give this book and entire series so far more than 5 stars if I could. Everything Adelaide touch’s is a #1 seller. Her books have everything alphas, love, action, twists and turns, hate, betrayal and manage to leave me breathless. I will be so sad when this series ends but it will stay in my favorites forever! Pick up this series and read.....don’t wait too long, you might get burned by it but the flame is worth it!

I am not a fan of dark romances. The angst, brutality and usually the sheer monster of a hero is not my idea of a fun reading experience. This series and Rafe are the exception, probably because Rafe started out the series as slightly elevated version of the type of heroes I love; OTT possessive, and a little crazy, but still on the right side of the line in the sand for me. As each book progresses and Rafe sheds another layer of facade to reveal more of his true nature, I followed because like I am not a fan of dark romances. Now, it doesn't matter how much a monster he is because he is Isa's monster. Isa herself is again faced with new revelations that she has to process; new betrayals and trials that show her struggling, and stumbling at times, but ultimately growing from. She is a revelation as a heroine and I love her. I truly TRULY hope that she has a showdown with Odina and slaps that biotch down. I NEED this to happen! I loved that no matter what was going on around them, and it was a lot, the obsessive and almost unhealthy love and connection that Rafe and Isa shared was there. I am on this ride to the end because I HAVE to know how everything ends.

I am equally scared and excited for the final book and where it takes Rafe and Isa. Counting down the days!!

In this third book, we finally get to know the whole picture from the past that took Rafe and Isa on a common path. Honestly, I had no idea where the writer could take this story, so I was all the more surprised by how skillfully she turned things around. I was thrilled. In the third book, we get answers to many questions from past two books, but we still don’t get a real conclusion to the story, as the fourth part, Until death do us part, is coming in June.
