Ezra is the fresh breeze Roman never knew he needed. The sweet, shy guy who works and lives extraordinarily organized and brings the needed structure into Roman’s life. As Roman’s housekeeper Ezra is dedicated to his tasks, he doesn’t need distractions around, like the beautiful man Roman is. Ezra’s body has strong reactions when Roman is around. He’s confused and knows he has to be honest about it. Oh my goodness, Ezra, he took my breath away, he touched me deeply, and Roman, I wish I could tell him in an early stadium, it will be alright, everything will be alright! Ezra is the most honest, endearing, organized man, he stole my heart at first sight. Roman is the kindest and considerate man, he’s mesmerized by Ezra and has protective and even more, possessive feelings for him. “If you make fun of him for this, I will squeeze your testicles until they pop.” A life carefully planned, structured, safe, that was the most beautiful thing to watch! Throughout this story you can see the plan unfolding, Roman made a grand gesture it was so so thoughtful!! I want a Roman for myself oh my, what a man. There is so much pure love between these two, it was overwhelming I had thick goosebumps! The author created two beautiful lovable personalities, to watch them grow closer and closer was everything! It was a super romantic, super sweet story, full of tenderness and delicious sexiness. This story will get a top place on my romance shelf! Note to the author: Can you give Jay his own story? I loved him so hard!

You enjoy one character bending over backwards for another for the first time ever in his life and expecting nothing in return. You enjoy awkward names pre- during and post sexy times such as, long dong, pleasure hole, etc. (I will admit that some of the sexy times are very sexy). You believe the term “cutie” is underused and should be thrown out at every single possible moment when describing and referring to a grown man. If any of the above apply to you, then dive the hell in to this sickly sweet morass of cream pie. If not, then, I suggest not clicking on the green button and scrolling on down.

Enjoyed this one up until the point that sex got involved, and then it seemed to take over the story...as I'd suspected it would. Daddy/boy kink is definitely not my favourite [I probably wouldn't have pre-ordered the story if I'd known], and I found myself wishing for the early days of Ezra and Roman's relationship, when it was just an opposites attract/age gap/interracial 'romance', focusing on Ezra's quirks due to him being on the 'Spectrum'. 3.25 stars. 5 stars Y'all, this book was so sweet! It's a low-angst, boss/employee age-gap romance. Roman is a retired NFL player turned restaurant owner that is introduced to Ezra via his best friend who currently has Ezra as his housekeeper. Ezra is a young, neurodivergent super genius that loves cleaning and space and is just oh so sweet. The change between them becoming boss/employee to friends to more is beautiful. I definitely recommend this if you are new to Laura's works or have been reading her for a while. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next! Also totally wouldn't mind a story about Jay and his love life. 😏 * ARC provided to me by author in exchange for an honest review *

In this book we meet Ezra, an adult in his early twenties, who is autistic. He sometimes reads like a younger person than his actual age, specially when it's about the usual, daily stuff that for the average adult isn't such a big deal. Well, to Ezra things that sound simple to others, can bring him In the Moment, meaning he's unable to deal with it and he overreacts. He can't handle surprises and unexpected happenings, but he's exceptional at organizing things. He's also very bright and he loves programming and strategy games and space travel. Alan Turing is his programming adult and he admired Steve Jobs for always wearing black so he didn't use up his brainpower on deciding what to wear. Because of his organizing skills, he's the best housekeeper one could wish for, and when he comes to work for Roman Reynolds, a retired NFL player, Roman soon discovers Ezra was exactly the kind of person he needed in his life and hadn't realized. And in the beginning that goes for getting his stuff organized, but as the days go by, he starts to realize Ezra is exactly what he needed in his life, and not just for cleaning and getting his stuff labeled and put away in the right places. A friendship develops and eventually turns into more. What I really loved about their relationship was how it developed organically. Roman was so understanding and patient. He realized immediately that Ezra was special and that he needed to act differently in order to earn his trust. There was a lot of talking and he never tried to push Ezra into doing something that could get him In the Moment. They had Serious Talks and when things were important and Ezra needed time to process, Ezra made a list with questions or things he had on his mind and he wanted to share. It made life easier for him and it made it easier to develop a relationship with Roman, first based on a respectful employer-employee relationship, later growing into so much more than that. What I also loved was when Roman met Ezra's friend for game night and he realized how bright they all were and Roman started to feel like the inferior one, the one left out. It was the other way around and I loved how the author showed us readers how it must feel like for an autistic person all the time, every day. And last but not least: the interracial aspect of this story. It's not specifically pointed out, but it's there and we should see more of it in m/m romance. This book was so sweet and endearing. I loved Ezra's innocence, and admired his bright mind. I loved how Roman treated him and how they grew together. There's hardly any angst here, just a story based on character development and growth. And the heat!! Phew...the sex was off the charts HOT! It's a beautifully written story, but in all honesty, I've come to expect that from a Laura Lascarso book. She has the ability of telling a story in a very engaging way, using sublime, poetic words. Highly recommended! I received an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review

But then I couldn’t put the book down at all. I’ve never read a book with a neuro-diverse MC, and by no means I’m qualified to know if it was an accurate representation. Although the way the author portrays Ezra seems that it comes from a place of respect and research. I love him so much, his bluntness made me laugh more than once during his conversations with Roman. And Ezra’s friendship with Jay felt so genuine and lovely. Roman, on the other hand, was the perfect match for him with all his protectiveness towards Ezra without treating him like a child. The way their relationship started and kept growing was just so pure and genuine ♥. Before I finish this review I feel that I’m in the obligation to say that this book being cutesy doesn’t mean it’s not steamy AF.Don’t come here thinking this is just a sweet story with them only holding hands cause you'll get a surprise (whether it's a good or bad one it's up to you). **Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a free and honest review**

Sweet and sexy with autistic and POC representation I love romance novels with neurodivergent characters and this book is the perfect example of why. Roman was so sweet and amazing with Ezra and found him to be attractive and lovable even though other neurotypicals might think him odd. I love that neurodivergent characters tend to just say what they want and don’t like to or are simply unable to play games. I can really relate to that as someone who tends to just put my feelings out there and deal with the consequences. Ezra was a fun character too. At first he comes across as sort of innocent and childlike, but he knows exactly what he’s doing and knows how to rock his assets. I think a lot of authors portray autistic characters as being kind of childlike, which I don’t think is necessarily accurate in general, but it works here because these guys have a bit of a caretaker daddy/good boy vibe going. The only thing I didn’t love was at the beginning, Jay and Roman seem to be taking advantage of Ezra a bit with giving him the sexy football uniform and that made me a little uncomfortable. I do wonder after finishing the book if Ezra was fully aware of the effect he had on Jay and Roman in his skimpy outfit, but I don’t know. I’m not convinced. I think it would have been more fun if cleaning in a skimpy outfit was his own idea. I still loved the book though and thought it was just a really fun, sweet and sexy, low angst romance.

I started this book at night, before bed, and I couldn't put it down, and read way too late into the night. I regret nothing. First, I would like to say this book is sweet. If you are in the mood for an angsty, dark read, this isn't the book for you. Move along to something else, and maybe come back to this at a later time. It's worth coming back to. The story has two interesting MC's, mostly because we don't see them represented enough in romance books. Roman is a POC, a retired professional football player, who owns several restaurants. He admittedly likes taking care of people, especially by feeding them. This gave me an awe feeling, immediately knowing this big guy had a soft heart. I'm a sucker for that, I admit it. Ezra is neurodivergent, and likes order, charts, organizing, and cleanliness, and dislikes loud noises, crowds, and soft touches. He is hired to be Roman's live in housekeeper, while he finishes up his college degree. This is an age gap romance, but I liked how it wasn't the main focus of the story. While Roman is attracted to Ezra from the start, and Ezra to Roman, the story focuses on their initial friendship, getting to know each other, Roman understanding how Ezra's mind works, and what he needs. The relationship moves naturally into a sexual one. And, the sex is hot! I mean, many flames hot. Ezra is a buttoned up as they come, but when he's having "sexy time" with Roman, he's got a dirty mouth on him, and a long list of things he'd like to try. In alphabetical order, of course. This story made me feel good inside reading it. It left me wanting it to never end, and I immediately downloaded the "bonus scene", and devoid it. I loved that Ezra's differences were never an issue for Roman to get past, and he never tried to change him, to be what most people would label as "normal". He just loved him as he was. I finished this book with a smile on my face. I'm looking forward to reading this author's backlist, and her future books.

Having Ezra be part of a friendship group too that Roman can feel insecure in comparison to, also helps to keep the characters three dimensional and avoids infantalizing Ezra. The theme of the games of Risk between them and Roman's friend Jay was a very pleasing one! I also liked that when Roman does overstep (in a well-meaning but patronising way) he is readily called out too. My only major quibble was that it did feel at the beginning a bit ethically shifty, especially about Ezra being given a provocative outfit to wear, and especially Jay's involvement believing Ezra to be unaware of the motives. Jay redeemed himself a lot later but that initial sense of manipulation wasn't great. Overall I did enjoy this opposites attract romance and especially the lack of savourism and the depth given to the main characters.

I don't generally read fluffy contemporary romance because it almost never hits the mark for me, but this book was different. I loved the slow burn, and more importantly the slow burn made sense in the context of the story. That is to say, the plot isn't slow because of misunderstandings or miscommunication. It was more like a natural progression of something that was clearly expected but still needed time to develop to its fullest, and I enjoyed that very much. It felt like an unusual narrative choice that was well executed because it was the best choice for the characters involved. Other than that, I like how we're seeing more autistic characters in romance. I loved Ezra, and I also loved how the other characters were open and accepting with him (as everyone should be, but you know? It's not something you see in mainstream medias). Jay was so good, too, because it's so easy to have the secondary jock character falling back to the usual stereotypes, but he was so sweet with both Ezra and Roman while still being his playful self. 10/10

It reads over a few months as they build a beautiful friendship based on taking care of each other in their own unique way. And then when Ezra finally realises he can only think of Roman, Roman is elated to finally get his chance to take care of him in every way he knows how. The exploration and kink between them is light and tender and so very sweet. As is their ability to communicate honestly and openly - which, I was glad to see helped them avoid unnecessary drama or angst. Hats off the the author for this wonderfully crafted story with warm, loveable characters who hold each other tight and never let go!

I loved the development of their friendship, the questions they asked each other, taking time to understand one another. Roman was so protective of Ezra, his alpha ways coming into to play where Ezra was concerned was endearing to watch and I think caught Roman by surprise. Trust was a huge issue for both of them and I admired their steady progression toward realizing they could count on each other. Their honesty with one another and openess was extremely sexy and it transferred into the bedroom once they decided to be together as a couple. They took care of one another in different ways and they both grew from that. Low angst, sweet, honest conversations and some dirty talk that will melt your panties round out this romance 💜💜💜

Also, if it wasn't explictly stated to be an age-gap story, I wouldn't have thought that Roman was 10+ years older than Ezra, as there is a pretty huge lack of maturity there. And I'm sorry, but having your entire house rigged up with security cameras is one thing, watching your housekeeper clean your house in his skimpy uniform you've provided is squicky. Not to mention, I don't think 'frugal' was being used correctly. If you are calling an outfit 'frugal', I would assume you were talking about the cost, not that there was a scant amount of fabric.

    - Interracial romance - Age gap - Opposites attract: Big, strong ex-NFL player x small, sweet, nerd college student - Possessive MC - Neurodivergent MC - Slow burn - Light kink and daddy play So many good tropes in one book! I loved his thinking so much, it was straightforward and so intelligent, made me realize the world would be better if more people thought like that. Roman was the perfect protective partner. Bigger, strong, possessive, and jealous, but so sweet to Ezra! He tried very hard to understand Ezra's needs and his way to see the world and provide only the best for him. It was amazing to read their dynamic. What a great surprise it was to see how naughty Ezra was! I loved his sexy time plays and his lists.

Jumped straight to my favorites list! This book was AMAZING. I’ve never read a book by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but the blurb sounded promising. Boy, did it deliver! Both characters are so very lovable in their own ways, and so perfect for each other. I loved Ezra’s Serious Talks when he needed to discuss things. I felt the subject of Ezra’s autism was handled very well. Obviously it’s a big part of his life and relationship, but it was (happily) never really treated as a disability or something that made him less than. If anything, Roman wondered if he brought as much to Ezra’s life as he brought to Roman’s. The ending left me satisfied and with a big grin on my face. This is a favorite I’ll return to again for sure! Now I just have to hope that Jay gets a book. 😁

So Great! Wow I absolutely loved this! Could not put it down. This is my first book by Laura Lascarso, but it will definitely not be my last. I loved both MCs for very different reasons. Ezra was just a fabulous character with his direct style of speech, his lists and serious talks, his honesty and compassion, his intellect and independence. Roman was a gentle giant with a heart of gold that wanted to be loved for who he was and not his fame or fortune. They were just perfect for each other. This was just such a wonderfully romantic, beautifully written love story. I highly recommend it!

A Joyfully Jay review. 3.25 stars As this book opens, we get a glimpse of Roman and where he is in life currently and we also get a feel for Ezra. Ezra is smaller than the two football players and Jay sends Ezra to clean Roman’s house in short shorts and a tight-fitting football jersey. Roman likes how Ezra looks and is only offended that Ezra is wearing Jay’s football number and not his own number and the way Jay talked about Ezra came off as being manipulative. The style here was a departure from what I have read previously from this author and the relationship between Roman and Ezra might work better for another reader. Wonderful This is one of the best books I have ever read. The author portrayed the autistic character with respect. It’s so refreshing because so many times when autistic characters are portrayed in books, it’s as “look how far he’s come! He can do so much in spite of”, and that’s totally disrespectful to actual disabled people, who are worthwhile just because they’re people, whether they “overcome” anything or not. It was just so wonderful to see an accurate portrayal of an autistic character and to see him find love with someone who sees him as an equal. The other thing I really loved is the slow burn aspect was done very well. It read realistic, and there was no weirdness with the employer/employee thing like I thought there might be. It was wonderful, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Ezra is a sweetheart. He is smart , shy and also is autistic. His analytical mind leads to some laugh put loud moments as well as very tender moments between him and Roman. This unlikely pair worked so well together. I loved the age gap aspect of the couple Roman was so devoted to Ezra's needs and wanted to make sure he was protected. The author knew how to write some pretty steamy love scenes. These boys could talk dirty! There was little drama but the book flowed well and I had a hard time letting go of this couple.

So, it is easy to say that yes, this book floated its way onto my top 20 of 2021 list and I don't mind adding the hard copy to my very selective shelf. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

Just Delightful I loved everything about this story. Everything. I am not usually one for a slow burn, but it was necessary and right here. (One could even argue that it wasn’t that slow of a burn, more like two forces slowly navigating toward an inevitable conclusion.) Roman and Ezra absolutely complimented one another. I feel like I could gush about Roman and Ezra for hours. They really were perfect for one another. I’d also like to see a Jay story in the future. This was a new to me author and I will definitely be reading more!

Sweet characters and respectful representation! I’ll start off with saying I wasn’t a fan of the whole Ezra wearing a skimpy outfit while cleaning thing. (This is in the first chapter, so not a spoiler.) It felt a little too much like taking advantage of Ezra’s gullibility and Roman was never honest about his intentions up front. Otherwise, I really loved this book. It was very sweet and romantic, full of patience and understanding, and had zero angst. Ezra and Roman are lovely together. I liked that these two were so open and honest with each other and talked everything through. It didn’t take away from the s3xiness factor at all. I’m not an expert on autism, but I thought the representation in this book was well-written and respectful. Ezra never felt different because Roman treated him equally and with respect from the beginning. I’m definitely going to check out more books by this author!

This book really made me think, and I like that a lot... I’ve read books with spectrum MC’s before, and they’ve been been great about empowering and celebrating those qualities that make them unique. This had a few scenes that made me stop with a clutch of unease, but then gently pointed out I wouldn’t question them if Ezra wasn’t on the spectrum... So, overall a good general M/M romance that I enjoyed, but better because of the subtle challenge to re-examine ableism and even race. The almost afterthought references to interracial romance let me focus on the characters and other things - is that great or terrible? I received this book early as part of a promotional giveaway, and is my first by this author. I’ve put more on my TBR list, and am looking forward to them!

Such a good read! MILD SPOILERS. I loved this one. The pace of the story was perfect, I feel like many authors feel the need to narrate every single day of their characters lives, but this book spans over a year, without a single jarring jump ahead in time. It flows naturally, and grows into a flawless portrayal of two flawed, kind, smart, beautiful men. I loved how Ezra’s autism wasn’t an in-your-face device used by the author for shock and awe. Love the chapter titles, editing and publishing are high quality, which is rarely seen in self-published works. I could've used a little more warning on POV switches but their voices are so different it wasn't a hardship. Ezra might have too many exclamation marks in his inner monologues. Zero angst, as promised, most of the plot is moved by the development of their relationship and Ezra's quirky personality. This is a purely character-driven story.
