How I've missed my favorite aliens! I have missed these characters and this world so much so I dove right in. I love Lily and her 4 aliens. They are ridiculously cute! Then cue mate #5 Atuk. The development with the kids had lots of ups & downs which was pretty realistic. I laughed...I cried (don't judge)...I swooned I've been a long time fan of the Chosen series, having read and reread the original three books multiple times. Those books released years ago so I never thought there would be a fourth book even though I desperately wanted this story to continue. I happen to be on the FB group and Stacy made a post that she was *surprise* working on a fourth book and I've been politely stalking her since then. And folks? Book four did NOT disappoint. If you're in the tldr camp, below is my quick synopsis. If you want details, then by all means, read on! 😘 Ratings Character building: 👽👽👽👽👽 World building: 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (oooh, this one was shiver inducing) Suspense: 💣💣 Action: 🍿🍿🍿 Drama: 👀👀👀 Romance: 💓💓💓💓💓 Multiple POVs: YES Ending: HFN (open for more coming!) Cliffhanger: No (or...only if you want there to be one 😉) The Deets: I was a bit worried that since so much time had passed, the writing may have changed or the characters may "feel" different. None of that was true. Turning page one was as smooth of a transition as if it was a continuation of book three. I was instantly back in this world with its fascinating planet, unusually sentient plant and animal life, and sweet alpha males. Book four has less action and suspense than the original trilogy but it's by no means lacking in intensity. Instead of constant danger, fighting, and running, book four is more of a relationship book. There is the growth of the original group settling into the Shevari tribe and figuring out how to integrate but keep enough distance so their unique relationship does not create problems with the tribe. There is the growth of the tribe, figuring out how to accept and appreciate Lily's differences. There is the angst and sweet romance between Lily and Atuk as he struggles to believe anyone could ever accept and desire him with his differences. Book four is a downright sweet angsty steamy story. Sweet Heat One of the primary reasons I'm so enthralled with this story is the sweet alpha vibe of the guys. I'm not generally a fan of enemies to lovers or stories heavy on domination/humiliation. Sometimes you just need to read some "sweet heat" and the guys in this story are the perfect blend of sweet and alpha. They are growly protective while at the same time being appreciative and respectful of their woman. I love every single one of them. Unique Heroes I appreciate that Stacy builds the harem over time (other than the initial three which come as a package deal). With that slower approach, and the multiple points of view (which she does seamlessly), we really get to know each character. For all that these guys share the same traits of being sweet and protective and curious, they never blend into the same character. They each have their own "voice" and they each bring something important to the family. It really feels like a family. I find myself grinning and swooning through all their interactions. These guys are not just side characters to the fmc. They are main characters, with there own damage, fears, insecurities and dreams. World Building I love the way Stacy describes the plant and animal life. This planet is so lush and beautiful in my mind. From the dancing flowers to the beautiful Arrawaa bird (possible deity?). Even the way the planet interacts with the inhabitants is fascinating. Not to turn this into a social platform but it's interesting to read about a reverse society, where the females are the dominant gender and males who struggle with "perfect submission" are ostracized. Bottom line, no society thrives under domination/subjugation. If you're reading reviews on book four then you've most likely read the other books in the series and know that in addition to writing this story, the author created a language for the native people. I sort of loved that in this fourth book she's using more of the Shevari language (with less translation). Sort of forcing us to learn the language, lol. It's working though. I'm picking it up! If you made it to this point let me leave you with my FIRM recommendation that you put aside other stories in your tbr and jump this beautiful sweet heat story right to the top!

So much love to share! I love being back in this world with Lily and her unusual Shevari mates. Lily is attracted to Atuk, a male she is caring for as a healer. Atuk feels the same attraction, but he is so conflicted, and unsure of acceptance. This is one wild ride! There are ups and downs, as each one deals with their feelings, troubles of other sorts must be heeded, young ones to be guided - so very much happening. Atur and Sahas are sweethearts, with delightful personalities. It’s interesting So much love to share! I love being back in this world with Lily and her unusual Shevari mates. He’s quite an amazing creature, behaving so well, acting like another caretaker for those adventurous kids. There are truths found here that resonate to all - be yourself, not who you think others want you to be. Words to live by.

Another HIT by Stacy Jones. I have been waiting for this book and it didn’t disappoint. I had all the feels, it was funny, romantic and it even made me cry. It was definitely worth the wait and now I have to “patiently” 😅 wait for the next one. Do read it.

She's been training as a healer with Drrak's and Arruk's mom since Arruk told how she healed his broken branches. One of the families she's looking after is Skaa's. Her males are pining and fading. She and the guys have adopted the kids. It's one thing to know you might lose a patient, especially on a primitive world, but absolutely knowing you will is heartbreaking. Siir and Rokan just keep getting worse, but Atuk seems to be almost getting better. That can't be, right? The bond is supposed to be permanent. One way, the guys being completely bound to her, but permanent. If Atuk is getting better, what does that mean? Best case is the kids get to keep a dad. Worst case is they'll run the whole family out for breaking tradition. But she's hoping he does heal, because she's seen something in him that calls to her. Something that says he needs her band of outcasts as much as they need each other. Spoilers ahead. Oh, I've been waiting for this since I read 3 and felt Atuk was cheated out of his story. And even more so after we met Skaa in Aria's books. There's so much going on in this book that it's hard to decide what makes me happiest. I loved getting to know Atuk. I adored getting to see the family day to day life. The kids, oh, goodness, night and day. Atur is another outcast in the making and has been taken in by the perfect family. Sharas is a diminutive despot and is lucky enough to have enough alpha males riding herd that she won't be a complete terror. I also see the makings of another Akksha in her. She knows things, understands things with a wisdom beyond her years. We are taunted with the idea of the werewolf still alive and lurking, training pantari for nefarious purpose, and who he may be colluding with. A broken thread is mended. One that readers were sad and upset over in the first book. Watching the tribe learn tools like whips, spears, bows and arrows, true defense with knives, and devising better defenses and traps is so interesting. Lily accelerated their development. And in ways that allows the males more independence and ways to contribute. And that cliffhanger... It's marked and separate. You have the option of leaving the story on a HEA, or continuing a few more paragraphs past that and realizing just what is about to happen. And just how shook their society is about to become. Ms. Jones runs us through the gauntlet in this book and it's worth every tear and giggle.

I had reservations... or should I say high expectations? I absolutely love the Chosen series and was happy with its conclusion when it came out in 2018. It was a story that I would often go back to when I needed a palette cleanser after a slew of bad reads or if I simply needed some good and lighthearted love injected into my life. When I heard our illustrious author Stacy Jones planned to write another book in Lily and the guys story I was excited but also had insane expectations with how in love I am with this series. Whew boy did she deliver! Now the story doesn't feel complete without this book, without Atuk as a part of this family. We get the same voice and flow and how the story builds that we see in the previous books which I feel is a pretty big accomplishment with nearly a three year gap between book 3 and her inspiration to write book 4. It was so just amazing getting to know Atuk and falling in love with him just like Lily did with the other guys. I thought Drrak was the last piece to their group and couldn't think of any other dynamic that was missing, but I now I know Atuk was needed and will actually be that final piece (don't make me a liar Stacy! Or do, you'll be awesome doing it). As far as other aspects of the book, we see Lily and the guys progression with learning each other's language. With how much I have read the series and loved the Shevari people, I really felt my learning of the language grew too which was an unexpectedly fun aspect for me - but she does still give a lot of context for the most part if you aren't as familiar. And oh gosh, the kids! They added such a fun unexpected element to the story and it was fun learning about them too. We also get some surprises and an optional cliffhanger in the bonus scene (have you read her Taken series yet???). I am excited to see there will be more from the Chosen world and I cannot wait to see the journey this amazing author will take us on. I cannot recommend this series and author enough!

To start, to say that I adored this 4th book of Lily and her guys doesn't seem enough. Originally, book 3 in the series had an epilogue that included a brief mention of some of what happens in this story and I was fine with that, I didn't know what I didn't know. Now having read Native, Lily and Atuk's part of her love story needed to be shared, it was such a beautiful journey of forbidden feelings, worry over others' judgement, and finding acceptance and true love. There's also plenty of love and support still going strong between Lily and her other 4 mates, although Tor is still scared of her eyebrows which will never cease to crack me up. Also, steam, cause yeah, these guys do that well too. Mixed in with the love story, we also see the impact that the battle from book 3 has had on the tribe's lives. Lily is active as a Healer and sadly, we see the devastation of Skaa's disappearance on two of her mates. We also get amazing time with Skaa's children as they've been adopted by Lily and her mates, who have a lot to learn about parenting young Shevari. Side characters help build a more complete picture of daily life and I'm really hoping for one of these side character's own love story at some point. There's also more to see of this alien planet and wildlife, plus an absolutely amazing, heart-full feeling surprise close to the end that had me tearing up in happiness. Ms. Jones's Chosen series was my first foray into aliens that look like aliens romance and this series will always hold a special place for that, in addition to how amazing it is. Native is a wonderful and emotional continuation of that story. Ms. Jones just knows how to write all-around fulfilling tales of main characters falling in love with the perfect alien men for them. I hope she never stops. As a note, there is a glossary at the end of the book that's super helpful and there's also character art for visualization of each of Lily's amazing men.

No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities. Overall: 5-stars I'm SO happy Stacy has decided to continue the Chosen series! I always felt the epilogue of book #3 (Tribe Protector) didn't really wrap things up. And, even with this book, there are so many plot points that still need addressing, although I'm happy Lily's new mate, Atuk, finally gets his story told. I'm also thinking there will be a cross-over with Stacy's Taken series (first book: Aria's Awakening), although No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities. Atuk’s story......ooooh wow, and his picture my my so that is what a perfect Shevari male looks like, yeah now we know why our other guys were outcasts. No book in this series has been a dud, like how is that possible.......and there’s going to be more, yes yes please. That cliffhanger, man! Don’t want to put spoilers so will give a generalized review of the things I love the most; the multiple POVs, how sweet and loving the guys are, the individuality of the characters, Lily is amazing btw, character growth, how the family keeps growing, how flaws and faults are handled, no unnecessary drama or angst (like I can’t handle any drama right now, even in novels, especially actually) and so much more. I wonder if Lok and Rork will join the harem? This series has officially joined my best Rh list.....sooooo good!

Unexpected series addition I loved this series when it first came out and devoured each book as soon as it was released. I loved learning about this new world with Lily and reading her navigation of her newly mates males. I never even thought that a book 4 was on the author’s radar. While I do love this series, Lily, and all the shevari aliens, this book wasn’t exactly my favorite. It was much more domestic than the previous books with Lily stepping up into the role of adoptive mother to 2 orphaned children. It is mostly showing the daily lives of Lily and her men with the added drama of a new mate, adopted children, and pets (for lack of a better name for Trrar, Shussh, and Seri). Because of the more subdued pace of this book, I did feel as if it dragged a little bit in some parts. The ending though has definitely left it open for another book within this world and I am curious to see what else the author has in store for Lily and her family.

Giddy! This book had me totally giddy. If you haven’t picked up on it yet, I’m a rather big fan of Stacy Jones’ books and this one did not disappoint. The Chosen series is one of my all time favourites, and getting another chapter in Lily’s story was absolutely awesome. First of all, seeing Lily and her guys together and part of the tribe, I’m totally giddy. Lily being accepted and valued as a healer, settling into her new life, was so wonderful. But he was never quite the same as them. Somewhere along the way, he SEES Lily, and Lily sees him. And everything is just wow, and hot, and sweet, and ..... and he’s having to find the courage to open himself up to her. And she’s facing her feelings for him. And they’re all facing the possibility that this all might be a problem with the tribe! All while being parents to two newly orphaned children. And I just could not stop reading! I love Lily for her kindness and strength and pragmatism. Her ability to face things head on with caring and thoughtfulness, has me constantly longing for things to work out for her. Atuk is patient and considerate, and a wonderful parent, and I was constantly longing for things to work out for him too! (And I can’t not mention that there’s some HAWT scenes in there!) This story had me hooked, it just flew by, and seeing all their relationships develop and come together was so heartwarming. I loved getting back into this world, and I’m sure to find myself having another reread of this whole series.

I don’t often count down the days for a book to come out, but I just can’t get enough of this series! The depth and character development are excellent and refreshing in an RH. The world building deserves a nod as well. I’m stingy with my 5 star ratings but I enjoyed this book so much it was tempting to ignore the few things that bothered me and give it anyway. Happy to get book 4 I read the first 3 books ages ago, so quite a good surprise to see book 4 come out now. Not surprising to see the author admit that book 4 hadn't been planned, although I admit I did check a few times in the months after the first books came out. I thought book 4 was a good continuation, I enjoyed meeting the characters again and seeing how their lives had changed and how Lily and her men were fitting in with the tribe. I was so glad this book got out just when I needed a warm hug. The plot is slow-paced and revolves around the family life of our girl and her guys. What about Atuk you say? So glad the series is continuing! I enjoyed the first three books in the chosen series and I am so glad the author has chosen to expand the series. Completely binged this book. I’ve loved this series so much, so was excited to know there was going to be an addition to the series! It really doesn’t disappoint, the world created is amazing and really imaginative. There’s so much detail that it feels real and fascinating. I’m definitely gutted I can’t jump in and be there myself! Would definitely recommend this series, and this book if you love detailed world building, creative alien creatures and super steamy RH scenes 😍🖤

Lily and her men are back! If you loved our heroine and her loving guys in the previous books you will enjoy this new addition immensely. Not only we get to see Lily and her mates daily life develop but we also get know more about some minor characters in previous books and some old ones that return. Finally Lily feels more at home with the tribe yet she still fights with her feelings of not belonging but her family is always there to remind her she’s home. This story is part of a series but, as I have not read any of the other books, it can be read as a stand alone. There was a lot to love in this book. The characters were complex and so loveable in their own way. There was humour - both teasing and just plain funny, some secrets that had to be kept and tension that came with those secrets, a beautiful, swoon-worthy romance and some action with a twist. I was so happy when I realized this book was coming out, I adored this series and I hated how the third book ended because it left so much opened. Seeing Lily and her mates grew as a family was so cute, it was slow paced and we got to see how they manage as a family. Atuk's backstory was very emotional and it was so sweet to see him and Lily bond and eventually mate. I felt a mixed of both happiness and annoyance at knowing this is not the end, although in reality I should have seen that because s I was so happy when I realized this book was coming out, I adored this series and I hated how the third book ended because it left so much opened. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. So happy this didn’t end how I thought it was going to. But I’m also confused…what was the deal with the magic bird? We’ve got no idea what that meant still. What’s going to happen if/when Skaa comes back and Lily has adopted her kids? Is Skaa going to live with them? Also, I wanted more of that dang bronze bird man. Where has he been this whole time? Just living alone in a bird man nest somewhere? How has he survived on his own? SO MANY QUESTIONS. Here’s hoping they’re answered in the next book.

Hardships of being a parent Stacy Jones delivered another amazing story. Just when you think things are going well for Lily and her chosen they discover parenting isn’t as easy as they thought it would be. Lily, Arruk, Frarr, Tor, Drakk, and her new chosen Atuk must find them before it’s too late. My favorite book in this series so far!! I think BECAUSE it wasn't originally planned, it came from a depth of feeling in the author that isn't always there in a book. Books that just HAVE to be written because there's more story to tell seem to turn out amazing!! I cried more than once during this book, where I didn't cry at all through the rest. I liked the other books well enough, but this one stood out from the others. Well done!! My favorite book in this series so far!! I.wish the book wasn't over. Really great addition to the series. Fantastic read! I did have several moments of serious annoyance when there were too many Shevari words in one sentence. Having to flip back and forth to the glossary or get a second device to translate so that I would know what was happening completely yanked me out of the story. Thankfully the author is usually good about making what is happening clear and it happened a few times. I.wish the book wasn't over. Really great addition to the series. Fantastic read! Lily the main characters adventure continues in this book although it’s more tribe/ family based. Oh f you’ve read the previous books you have to read this book and if your a fan of alien, RH, dated mates, I would recommend this series x

An enjoyable sci-fi romance. This installment of the series had vivid world building and nuanced characterization. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot. I probably would have preferred a more exciting plot with danger or adventure elements, but I know a lot of other readers of sci-fi romance don’t enjoy space opera elements to the extent that I do. Reading this novel was an enjoyable distraction from caring for my ill mother.

Damn I read this too fast Even though I expected everything to happen thanks to last book I'd still reread this again. All the awesomeness and wholesome scenes mixed with sext times was fabulous. Loved the tiny cliffhanger at the end and excited to see how the story progresses. Great artworks of the guys. Can't wait to read more. Story line I really like this series. Always checking to see if an other book is out. The only thing with this book is the different language spoken in it. I have no idea what they were saying and there was no interpretation. So yeah that was pretty frustrating. Other than that I would recommend this one for you to read.
