Another outstanding book from the midnight breed series by Lara Adrian! I love these alien vampire warriors with their amber cat like gazes and their total bad ass attitudes and even at book 17 of the series I still am so obsessed with each and every book that comes out. I can't say enough about the amazingly talented Lara Adrian, she is one of my top 10 best of all time writers and every book that she puts out is a five star read and a author that will always be a must read every time. I don't want to give too much away about Fall of Night because its that fabulous!!! I will say that theirs plenty of steamy scenes and a few WTF's and the ending that lets you know that more shit's gonna go down not only from the breeds enemy Opas but from one they didn't see coming! Can't wait for the next book!!! Until next time Luv's💗💋

HOLY SHIT Superb - I loved Phaedra and Micah, they are the kind of couple I absolutely adore reading about but because I've followed this series from book 1, I know the world and its background, thus making these novels an excellent addition to the series. This one was just ok for me. I liked Phaedra but Micah, not so much. He was an ass from the start and didn't really change for most of the book. Even after the they had sex, he was an ass. I found Phaedra and her connection to the crystals interesting, especially when we learned more about the white doe. I liked how Phaedra was able to protect everyone when needed. It will be interesting to see where things go from here with the crystals. This one was just ok for me. I liked Phaedra but Micah, not so much. 4.5 stars! An exciting, action-packed and passionately romantic read, I have been so looking forward to reading this book! Tegan and Elise (from Midnight Awakening) are my favourites of the original Midnight Breed couples, and this is the story of their son, Micah, who is now all grown up, and a fierce warrior fighting for The Order, just like his father before him. Phaedra is an Atlantean, once part of the court and tightly bound to her race and its power, but she has been living among humans in 4.5 stars! Phaedra is an Atlantean, once part of the court and tightly bound to her race and its power, but she has been living among humans in Rome for centuries (she is best friends with fellow Atlanean, Sia, and appears in Midnight Unleashed). Phaedra has been having a recurring dream where she stumbles through a barren forest in the snow following a white doe, but her dream changes one night when she encounters a gorgeous but mysterious warrior, right before the world explodes in tremendous light. It may be a dream for Phaedra, but for Micah it’s very real. His dreams have also led him to the forbidden Deadlands, but when he leads his team there in real life, he shares a moment of intensity with a beautiful woman before a blast wipes his entire team out and he is left near death. The Breed and the Atlanteans have a tense relationship, and the two nations are on the verge of war, so Micah obviously blames the mysterious Atlantean woman for the horrific explosion and he is a man on a mission of vengeance. But when he encounters Phaedra again, he learns that not all is as it seems, and more than that, he discovers that fate led them both to the forest that night, tying them both together in a destiny that Micah wants no part of. It’s a great set-up, and I was fully on board as Phaedra teams up to help The Order get to the bottom of the attack. And at the same time, local terrorist organisation Opus Nostrum is still waging war on the Breed nation. It’s exciting with great action, and it’s made all the more awesome when so many characters from the previous books join to be a part of it all. And in the middle of everything, Micah and Phaedra are fighting a hopeless battle to stay away from one another. The chemistry between them sizzles, and the sexual tension is spine-tingling, with every glance, every snarky comment and every heart-felt moment creating this delicious sense of expectation, just waiting for something to happen between them. Phaedra is more accepting of their situation than Micah, and she has a battle on her hands with her fierce warrior, but even he can’t deny the bond between them, and their coming together is passionate and intense with some beautifully sweet moments. She’d belonged to him from the instant he spotted her. It’s so, so satisfying watching the big, strong, ruthlessly cold warriors fall, and just like his father before him, Micah falls spectacularly. “You’re mine,” he growled as he rocked into her. “I’ve known it all along. Even fate knows you’re mine, Phaedra.” I loved the chance to catch up with other characters from the series, and particularly enjoyed seeing so much of Tegan and Elise, who have taken a bit of a back seat since their own book. They are still blissfully happy together, and seeing Tegan in the role of father was a real highlight of this book for me as he helped his boy on his journey. “I can’t tell you anything about fate. I only know what I see in you when you’re looking at her. Trust me when I tell you, son, life is for the living. I suggest you get on with it…before you let her walk away.” … Some of the stone that seemed to enclose Tegan cracked with the fond look he held on his only son. “Whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you. And I’ll be proud of you. I always have been.” And in a delightful little bonus, watching Micah fall for Phaedra had some gorgeously reminiscent moments from when his father fell for his mother… Micah to Phaedra: She was his. God help her, but he belonged to her too. Tegan to Elise: “Do I love you? Yeah, God help you, but I do” *dreamy sigh* This book is on the shorter side and the story moves at a fast pace, but the fact that there are supernatural powers at play make it completely acceptable and believable (in a paranormal sort-of way). I could feel the connection between Micah and Phaedra, and loved how they found their way to each other – so freaking hot, and with a lot of heart. For the series, the plot is thickening. Enemies of the Breed seem to be getting bolder, and a new threat has been uncovered which will change everything going forward. I love the tie-ins to other books of the series, and love how there is ongoing development for previous couples. There’s a lot of depth in this world, and I’m so excited for whatever is coming next. 4.5 stars! An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed visiting with all the Original Order members. We finally get some more information on Jenna and the impact of what the Ancient Gen One implanted into her. You can tell that The Midnight Breed series is coming to an End. The final story will be King of Midnight which will be released later this year. I have it on Pre Order!!

There are more than twenty books -including the novellas- of Midnight Breed and Next Generation and I have enjoyed every single of them since they first published, more than a decade ago. I have been looking forward to reading the story of Micah, who is the son of Elise and Tegan from Midnight Awakening, Book #3 and Atlantean Phaedra. The mission of the warriors of the ORDER has not completed. Opus Nostrum is still the biggest threat and there is only one book left King of Midnight which -I guess- will be the story of Darion Thorne, son of leader of the Breed Lucan Thorne & Gabrielle from Book #1 and perhaps Atlantean Queen Selene??? It was good to see the previous couples and their soul bond. I liked seeing Jenna&Brock for example. This one was a little bit rushed, emotions were lacked and the MCs were flat. As I said, I have been involved Midnight Breed series since the beginning, this book was short and left me wanting more. I like the depth of the Midnight Breed world and I feel sad for the upcoming final book.

Micah is Tegan's son from the original Breed crew. He meets Atlantean Phaedra when she's walking in the Dreamscape and he's in the deadlands in Siberia. Tragedy happens. Fantastic. This book brought out every emotion for me. I laughed, cried, smiled with joy & was shocked beyond belief. It was just an amazing addition to the series. So many new ideas of what is going to happen and who the true evil really is. Micah & Phaedra are a fantastic couple. I received an ARC for my honest review.

Finding the right words to say just how much I enjoyed this book eludes me. I felt the wave of concern for Lucan as the breeds battle the latest evil targeted at them, Elise’s dread at the possibility of losing her husband or son and took the journey with each of the characters throughout. Micah and Phaedra were so different but also so alike their characters are dynamic and their interaction compelling. A Well done story the preview for this story Said Micah was a chip off the old block. how right that was , I saw so much of his Father ( Tegan) in him brought a smile to me every time he did something just as Tegan would have done. more than once it spoke of how much they were alike even if both refused to admit it.

I've been waiting for this book for SO LONG! Unfortunately for me, and all the other Midnight Breed fans, Ms. Adrian has spent some time the last few years writing other books, which are also amazing, but not about my Breed warriors. So, I've been sad. That sadness ended today! Or rather, ridiculously early this morning. Fall of Night is the story of Micah, son to Tegan and Elise. So, I've been sad. That sadness ended today! Or rather, ridiculously early this morning. Fall of Night is the story of Micah, son to Tegan and Elise. I was super excited for this one, because Tegan is my absolute favorite from the original order. I do really enjoy a romance where two characters are forced together, but neither one of them really WANT to be together. This was Tegan and Elise's story, and had such a sweetness to it, that I'm forever in love with them. As for Micah, we have seen literally nothing of him until this book, so I was really excited. What I wasn't expecting was to see Phaedra as his true love. We met Phaedra in Midnight Unleashed, which is a novella set after Defy the Dawn. Phaedra runs a women's shelter in Rome and takes in Tamisia when she is banished from the Atlantean colony. This is definitely I series where I do not recommend skipping the novellas. Some of them aren't necessarily essential to the story line, but others are. And they are all fantastic, so that's reason enough to read them. I loved the pairing of Micah and Phaedra. But I would have loved more backstory on Micah to get a better understanding of who he is and how he was shaped. We know that he is constantly trying to live up to the example his father sets, and feels like he isn't worthy. And like Tegan and Elise, Micah and Phaedra were thrust together against their will, and fought the chemistry that was so evident between them. When they eventually succumb, we can really see why Phaedra is the perfect mate for Micah. His mission that went wrong, thrust him in to a deep darkness and he needed someone as strong as Phaedra to match him. Someone who could take his pain, because she had some of her own, and help them both heal. I also loved that we got some more back story on the Atlanteans. It's pretty clear that while Opus Nostrum needs dealt with, Selene, the Atlantean Queen is going to play a HUGE role in the series conclusion. (My friends and fellow book readers know that I called romantic pairing in the final book when I read Defy the Dawn. I am SOOOOOOOO EXCITED that I was right, because that is going to be an epic story.) I'm insanely sad that there is only one more book left in this series. I discovered Kiss of Midnight on a Barnes and Noble bookshelf 12 years ago. I was fortunate to be able to binge the first seven books in the series and I began my love affair with Lara Adrian. After that, I read everything she had published previously and she is now a "1-click" author. The Order have been my friends and companions for 12 years, and it will gut me to say goodbye to them. But I can't deny that I am counting down the days until King of Midnight. I love the beautiful symmetry of the series starting with Lucan, and ending with his son Darion.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This is the first book in this series that I have been wildly disappointed in. At first I was disappointed that it was only 190 pages on Kindle, and then it couldn't end quickly enough. This was one of the characters that I couldn't wait to read about, but now it feels like I wasted time and energy. I understand that every new book has to have some form of recap and world intro, but it just felt so force fed and in your face. If this was supposed to be a novella I wouldn't have thought twice about and expected everything to be crammed and fast paced. Except this wasn't supposed to be a novella (I'm pretty sure anyhow). On the other hand, so much of the story was repetitive phrasing and explanations and complaints. Without that filler, the book would have been even shorter. As far as characters go, I did like them. They had potential as a couple. I will say that Micah as a whole let me down. His character wasn't what it could have been, he felt lacking. Him saying that he was born for his work and couldn't have any other distractions or open his heart to anything else annoyed me. Especially when he said so to his father. As if everyone from the OG order didn't think and feel the exact same way. As if his father didn't play that part himself. Not once did anyone point out this fact. Phaedra wasn't as wholesome as I wanted either. For being over a thousand years old she lacks depth and experience. She could have been 20-something and it wouldn't have changed the story in the slightest, and probably would have made more sense (if we're ignoring the fact that her parents died while she was a baby and their story is needs to take place that long ago). As far as her bleeding heart goes, her having a dead husband came out of left field, it did little to nothing for the story. Whereas the women and children that she held so near and dear were barely mentioned. It would have made so much more sense if there were actual named people she had a connection to in her home, versus just a generalized 'hey, there are some people back home that need me'. It would have correlated so much better when Micah said she couldn't understand the loss of his men. All in all, I'm disappointed, but the ending had a decent cliff hanger and I'm exciting for what comes next.

Fall Of Night is all about Micah who is the son of Tegan and Elise who we first meet in book 3 of the series. Micah is one of the orders best warriors and is only rivaled by his father Tegan. 'When night falls blood and destiny collide.' Both had been having a recurring dream that led them to the deadlands in the first place. After the attack on his team, Micha doesn't trust Phaedra and blames her for what happened to his team and vows to get his revenge on whoever is responsible, even if it means that he has to go through her. But has fate brought them together? That's what it seems until Phaedra learns the truth about how they were really brought together that fateful night. "You're mine! I've known it all along. But after another attack on the Breed by their enemy Opus Nostrum he finds that nothing is as it seems. Wanting no part in the fate that has supposedly brought them together, Micah tries everything he can to deny how he feels for Phaedra but realises in the end that he can't change how he feels about her. 'She was his. God help her, but he belonged to her too.' Fall Of Night is full of action and suspense leaving you wondering what's going to happen next and wanting more. Although I really enjoyed reading about Micah and Phaedra, the end of this book felt a bit rushed. It was nice to see some appearances from other members of the order from earlier books, including Micha's parents Tegan and Elise, plus Order Leader Lucan Thorne and his mate Gabrielle amongst others, it seemed like this book ended a bit too quickly. I was kindly issued with an eARC advanced copy of Fall Of Night for my personal review.

But Phaedra, an ancient Atlantean who was on the place of explosion in her dreams, is cleared of the crime soon enough. Pro's: + The overarching story progression in this book is great, finally we're working to somewhat of a finale. Micah and Phaedra take us on quite the adventure in this book and there is so much action and violence that you won't be bored at all. + The beginning of this story is really strong, the tension and the adrenaline of the events leading up to the explosion is quite epic. Also the culprit stays quite hidden for the majority of the story and the reveal is very, very unexpected. Con's: - The romance is very lackluster and mweh. There is not much of an courtship, throwing these characters into straight sexy-times almost right away. Also, in this specific instance, I feel Micah and Phaedra don't really are a match to each other. They are so incredibly different that even an opposites attract scenarios is not really an option. Even though you do not need to read this book for the romance, the overarching story and the progression makes the entire book a lot better. We learn more about the Atlanteans and their crystals and I was quite surprised of the backstory behind it. I have to say that some of the events in the book were not fully worked out and a lot of storybits were not fully finished for my feeling. However I did not find that really annoying and there is still at least one more book coming!

In addition, we see some familiar characters (Zael and Brynne) that have not been around for a few books but have a huge part in helping Phaedra especially with her talent and family background. Micah's headstrong attitude and stubbornness on the Order being his first and highest priority follows the same mentality that his father had back in the original beginning. This really keeps him from letting his emotions and possibility of love show for Phaedra till he finally realizes he can't be without her. His talent ability he received from Elise really does draw him to Phaedra as they both have the same dream also known as "dreamscape" which originally introduces him and Phaedra to each other well building their attraction to each other. To say the order is close to a finish line and be able to live in peace for a while is not the case, there is another element that appears in this book that will be a shock to many, but I have been suspecting it was the case all along. Can't wait for the next book to see what will happen, if you have not started the Midnight Breed Series from the beginning, please do as they are amazing. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. Thanks again Lara for continuing to write these action and romance paranormal books.

As Ms. Adrian is bringing the Midnight Breed series to its conclusion, all I can say is I will miss it terribly, although I know she will have other novels just as exciting in store for us, as well as one more Breed novel, and continuation of the Hunter Legacy Series. Back to Fall of Night… This book centers around Micah, the son of Tegan and Elise. Tegan is Lucan Thorne’s second in command, one of the most lethal warriors, and Micah, cold and equally as lethal, is following in his father’s footsteps by heading up his own team of warriors. On a mission, things begin to go horribly wrong. Suddenly, he sees something in the forest, and goes on the hunt. His men follow, only to die horribly, leaving Micah the only survivor. The only one, except the beautiful Phaedra, who was also looking for something. Their paths cross again at the Order’s headquarters, where Micah learns that Phaedra is not only beautiful, but Atlantean. Brock’s mate Jenna begins having visions via the Ancient’s DNA implanted in her before its death that starts to make things clear. They must return to the scorched forest and find the items in Jenna’s vision before they are found by someone else. Someone much more lethal and dangerous. Another Ancient. I have seen others say that they felt the romance between Micah and Phaedra felt rushed to them. I didn’t feel that way. I thought the way it happened was perfect. Micah was quick to battle, and it turns out he was also quick to love. This book is powerful and gripping. Excellently written, it draws the reader in immediately. Each of the books in the series is a standalone, however, it is so much richer a story each time when read in order. When the last novel in the series comes out later this year, I cannot wait to re-read the entire series in order and shed a little tear at its closing. I received an Advance Reading Copy in exchange for an honest review. Bravo, Ms. Adrian! I cannot wait to see what else you have in store for us!

I was a bit worried when I started this book that I would struggle to catch up with the story. It's been awhile since we visited this much loved world and I'm happy to say it was like I'd visited it yesterday. This book has a lot going on, had a family feel for me with a lot of the wider characters showing up on the page. I really enjoy the stories when we see more of the original warriors and their mates. Lots of second generation characters too. There's some tragic moments in this one and although sad I think necessary for the balance of the story. There has to be loss of both sides to keep the story authentic. Micah and Phaedra have some barriers to overcome. Both have incredible inner strength although for very different reasons. Phaedra has led a long life and although had found her calling in life I think she was ready for some change. Micah is headstrong and determined. He's as tough as his father but is in danger of closing himself off without finding some lightness and love. They're a perfect match for each other and so they should be. Micah needs someone strong enough to stand up with him, mild and meek wouldn't work. Phaedra has a super strong backbone and a sense of right that makes her unafraid to step up and help where she is needed. I see these two being an integral part of this unfolding story.

Like all of Lara Adrian’s books this one packs a punch on every level with action and heart stopping danger at almost every turn, passion, heat and love. This is Breed warrior Micah and Atlantean Phaedra’s story. These two unlikely lovers meet in The Dreamscape and the story unfolds from there. After a devastating tragedy Micah believes the Atlanteans are behind it and vows with every fiber of his being he’ll get revenge for the deaths of his team, leaving him the sole survivor. After a devastating tragedy Micah believes the Atlanteans are behind it and vows with every fiber of his being he’ll get revenge for the deaths of his team, leaving him the sole survivor. There are many heartwarming moments with Micah and his parents, especially his Gen One father Tegan. Phaedra carried her own heartache and tremendous loss of both her parents and the reason behond their deaths. These two are forced to work together and slowly build trust. They face multiple setups by by enemies known (Opus) and unknown. There are losses that made me cry and had me rooting for Micah, Phaedra and the assembled team. As their romance blossomed, it had them questioning fate and what true love really means. I love the world Lara Adrian has created, taking it from the original Gen One Breed and continuing it with the second generation as well as the Hunters. There is only one story left in this series and that truly saddens me. While I look forward to King of Midnight, it will spur me on to go back and start the series over! Another winning story with a couple you’ll cheer on from page one!

SPOILERS AHEAD, BE WARNED! Even though Micah got on my nerves a lot, and Phaedra acted like she is 20 not 200 years old they still managed to be a cute pairing. Fall of Night is Lara Adrian’s 17th book in her Midnight Breed series and it’s another fantastic read. It’s fast-paced, exciting and filled with action, twists and turns and things that make your jaw drop to the ground in shock. This book tells the story of Micah and Phaedra. Phaedra, meanwhile, is an Atlantean who has lived in Rome for many decades and is filled with powerful Atlantean light, probably more than she even knows. The way that Micah and Phaedra meet is in the midst of great sorrow and loss which makes it hard for trust to develop between them, even though they both feel an instant attraction and connection to each other. I’m always amazed at how Lara manages to keep writing new books in a long series and keep each book as different, yet still as interesting as the first one. I’m sad that this great series is ending, however, I know that any of the characters can show up at any time in any future “Hunters” books, so that helps to lessen any sadness. I’ve enjoyed reading every book in this series and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how Lara brings all the loose ends together and ends the series in an epic way. Besides, I’m hoping and crossing my fingers that I’m right and in the final book, we will see how King D handles Queen S !?! Oooh, that’s going to be something to see for sure. I voluntarily read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

4.5 Stars!!! Fall of Night is another wonderful addition to the always entertaining Midnight Breed Series. This story is about Breed warrior Micah (Tegan & Elise’s son) and Phaedra an Atlantean who we meet when Micah’s mission goes terribly wrong. Only Phaedra thinks it’s all a dream and Micah believes she may be to blame for what happened on his mission…so when the two meet again let’s just say the fireworks begin and never stop!!! One of my favorite parts of this book was watching this couple learn to let down their guards and trust each other. Truly amazing things happen when they do that! There is also a lot of activity in this book between the Order and their ongoing battles against Opus Nostrum and the Atlantean Queen Selene. Because of this we get a good amount of page time with favorites from previous books which is always very fun. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book and hopefully getting some HUGE questions that came up in this book answered. This book has all of the elements that make the Midnight Breed series so amazing. It's character driven with a cohesive storyline that holds together over generations of characters. The romance is steamy at times but not gratuitous, it flows and makes sense in the larger context of the story. In this particular case, Micah and Phaedra are both strong characters with good chemistry and the story of their relationship ties in with the overlapping story arcs in the series. Along the way there is plenty of action, joy, and heartache. The Order finds itself fighting battles on multiple fronts at once and that gives the opportunity to touch base with many of the original characters in the series in a way that made sense and flowed with the overall theme of the current book. If anything, there was almost too much going on and at least one of the dramatic events could have warranted a short story of its own. All in all, this book reminded me of why I like this series so much and I look forward to the next book in the series.

If I could rate this book by my desire to drop everything and read then Fall of Night deserves 10 stars. I didn't just read it once, but I read it a second time for all the thrills, chills and hold on to your heart moments. This book was printed on a corkscrew. There were so many twists and turns I wasn't able to predict any of the OH MY moments. You will scream at the audacity of Opus Nostrum. They are pulling out all the stops. (Can the writer please put an end to these atrocious humans?) I will admit it made my day getting caught up with some of my favorite old characters. Yes, I know it sounds like I personally know them but isn't that the sign of a good book, a great series and a very talented author. Lara Adrian made my night because I get to binge on all of the books again this year when I get ready for the final book in the series.

Without giving any spoilers there were a few new developments in this book but still many ends to tie. Should make the final book, King of Midnight, an interesting and hopefully long read! As for this book it has left many open ideas for the conclusion of the long running series. Like many of the previous books, Lara has written some fantastic and compelling emotional stories between love, sacrifice, and pain. This book has wound many emotions into one! Tragic losses, love found, unexpected twists and turns that keep the series going! Micah and Phaedra’s story will not disappoint! We also get to see some of the older members of the Order and some honorable mentions from books past. It is a fast read and will keep your attention. Great hook on the ending and promise for more to come!
