Black Tide is a great addition to the John Decker series. A Nazi submarine in immaculate condition is discovered in the ocean, and a group of scientists is sent to examine it. After some of the crew experiences a series of unsettling events, John Decker is sent by CUSP to help determine if these events are supernatural or otherwise. What secrets does the Nazi submarine hold and how did it maintain its pristine condition despite being submerged underwater for years? The answers to these questions Black Tide is a great addition to the John Decker series. Black Tide is a definite page-turner and is highly recommended! While this is a stand-alone book, I encourage you to read the entire series of John Decker books.

ADDICTIVE READING!!! This is the latest book by Anthony M Strong in the John Decker series, briefly the story is about a submarine in the last months of World War Two, the German Navy premiered a new and terrifying weapon. A submarine of incredible range that could strike anywhere, anytime. And it did, prowling the shipping lanes night and day, and striking fear into the Allies. It was just what Hitler needed to turn the tide of war. Until it disappeared without a trace!! I have read all the books ADDICTIVE READING!!! This new book as usual the author manages to hold my attention throughout from the first page to the very last, I hear myself saying just one more chapter, one more then another. As I read the book it is like a motion picture running in my head due to the descriptions and writing. Absolutely love this series it’s so addictive I never want the story to end or put the book down. Patiently waiting for the next book in the John Decker Series.

There are some places that are just inherently scary. You have long, empty hotel corridors, you have creepy hospital basements and you have terrifying cabins in the woods. The author does a fantastic job of evoking that feeling of creeping dread and lurking horror from the moment you step aboard and plunge fathoms deep beneath the surface of the sea. Once again, this author has managed to come up with a unique story, a blend of horror, mystery and thriller all rolled into one. The feeling of claustrophobia permeates the story and I still get chills thinking of some of the scenes in this book. As I always say, I can't wait for the next one in this series. **I received an ARC copy of this book from the author. This review is strictly voluntary.**

I received this book as an advance review copy and in return I am posting an honest review. OK, regarding the previous John Decker book ,I knew I'd be interested because the main subject base, Jack the Ripper, is a fascination of mine. Black Tide deals with WW2 and the German Navy; couldn't be more different, and so, I thought, this new book wouldn't be of such interest to me. BUT this book had me enthralled from start to finish. I read the whole thing in one sitting, loved the mix of past and present and the very sinister and unexpected traitor in the midst and subsequent twist in the tail. (I'm disclosing no more than that or it will totally ruin the surprise element.)All I can say is BUY IT ! Another great from Anthony Strong.

Another great addition to the John Decker series from Anthony M. Strong! This one is a bit different than what I expected but in a great way. It started off as a bit of a slow burn but that just gave time to really get to know the characters and for the atmosphere to build. Then the dread starts! What is going on in the scientific habitat deep in the ocean? What are the crew members seeing and experiencing? How is this German Submarine from World War 2 in pristine condition? I volunteered to review a complimentary copy of this book but I truly recommend it!

Not the straight up horror we have come to expect from this author. Supernatural elements to be sure but more of a spooky chilly mystery/thriller. Decker is sent to investigate an anomaly deep below the ocean's surface. It shouldn't be there and something certainly does not want the researchers who have been poking around there either. Very atmospheric tone to the story. Dark and broody and a bit claustrophobic. As always, a straight up style of writing gets to the gist of the tale pretty quickl Not the straight up horror we have come to expect from this author. A German Uboat, about 75 years old more or less, is found in the Atlantic, about 700 feet underwater, in remarkably good condition. CUSP has a project team on board studying the ship. When some "ghostly" things start to happen, John Decker is sent to the boat to try and figure things out. Additional events occur while he is there, including one of the team being murdered. One of the group isn't who they pretend to be, and then the whole teams' lives are in danger. An interesting story. This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Another good book in an excellent series. This one was another one where my dislike for underwater misadventure had me wishing for dry land and a strong drink. The story was good, the characters interesting and the race to the end nail biting. I was especially happy with the ending. A delightful book to get hooked on.

This was a great book. I was given an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I love John Decker and this one was amazing. History, mystery, adventure, and a nice little ghost story. Maybe or maybe not. You need to read the series and this one is by far the best. It does start a little slow but when the action starts it is non stop. Sit back and enjoy.

After you start reading the John Decker series you realize you know him so well you can predict what he will do next. He’s like this old friend you look forward to reading letters from each month to see what is going on in his life. Another great read by Anthony Strong if you like a little hocus pocus mixed in with a fast action drama!

I found the John Decker series quite by accident, but I am so glad that I did. I read the first 5 books in a matter of days and had to wait for the new book. Mr. Strong did not disappoint. I recommend his books to all my friends now. I am eager to hear if he plans on continuing this series.
