This is tough one because I knew most of the contents or shared in the experiences recounted here. Peter and I have known one another since 1982, working in various capacities and developing a close friendship. For those of you less familiar, the stories are terrific, and if you like his writing in any medium, I recommend the book. For $29 though, I expected better production values including the binding. It would have been nice if they also used an editor to better shape some of the information This is tough one because I knew most of the contents or shared in the experiences recounted here. Peter David is one of my favorite writers. I've enjoyed his comics, his episodes of Young Justice, Babylon 5, his Star Trek novels and his standalone books. I've met him multiple times at comic conventions and one weekend when I was working Thom Zahler's booth, we were next to Peter and was able to visit with him all weekend. His latest book, while not quite an autobiography is a great addition to my collection of PAD books. Another autobiography to close out 2020, Peter David is a comic book, tv, sci-fi, fantasy, movie, writer, also was a columnist at one time. This is his autobiography. In this case he jumps around and details various anecdotes from his life, all very interesting. We get some behind the scene stuff, some personal stuff as well. Much like with all the autobiographies I’ve read, I want more stories, or thought processes, or more info on his career. Don’t get me wrong, we get some good stuff, I just w Another autobiography to close out 2020, Peter David is a comic book, tv, sci-fi, fantasy, movie, writer, also was a columnist at one time. Highly recommended I’ve been a fan of Peter David’s for 30 years - after having read his first Star Trek novel (Strike Zone). In the book, Peter mentions how he’s been described as a raconteur and that definitely shows through in this book. There are great stories of his interactions with various celebrities such as Will Smith, his writing and comic book career. I tend to dip into books but I was enjoying this so much that I could not put it down. Not A Doctor (Don't Even Play One On TV) But PAD Is Right For You Not only tales I knew, but ones that were new to me were woven into a tapestry that I enjoyed reading in one sitting. Still not sure why everything mentioned is listed from A to Z at the end with no page numbers (as with an index) but whatever. I know explaining kills the joke, but sometimes Peter David signs his work with his full initials PAD.
