   Decent Beginner’s Guide This book is actually a relatively decent beginner's guide to candle magic, including simple spells. The book is broadly divided into two sections, an introductory section that goes into the history of candle magic (which I found quite fascinating) and various correspondences and aspects to consider depending on your spellwork needs (colors, timing, crystals, essential oils, etc.). I don't necessarily agree with all that the author said. I don't necessarily agree with all that the author said. To me, it seems like candle magic works because of two things: your focused intent (which might make you subconsciously work toward whatever your goal is) and putting out to the universe what you want (think law of attraction). The spells at the end cover a variety of potential areas of life you might want to do spellwork for, like love, money, health, and protection. As always when I read a book like this, I fear the spells will not be ethical. Except for one or two that teeter on the edge, most of these are actually fairly benign. The author's spells are simply structured and actually could be used to help you figure out the correspondences and ways to create your own spells.    Basics of candles This is good for those with no experience at all, although some of the rules they use are not necessary. Everyone does things differently and if you don't want to do this or that during a specific time you don't have to. It should be just taken as this is, a beginners guide.    Nice, informative little book! Excellent read! Lots of information. You may want to take notes when reading this book! Well worth the $$, and I highly recommend!!
