I won this book in a goodreads drawing. A strange sort of mystery, that meanders around a bit before finding a direction. It starts off with a college student freezing to death. Then a lecture about fairy tales (my favorite is Puss in boots, which doesn't even get a mention), and a connection to fairy tales throughout the book. Twenty years after the death, her friends start dying in mysterious ways. It gets strange, and more than a little meta, by the end. I won this book in a goodreads drawing. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one. An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written Fairytale Murder Mystery book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters & facts to keep track of. This could also make another great Fairytale Murder Mystery movie, a pulp fiction, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an amazingly easy rating of 5 stars. I really enjoyed this rock and roll mystery! The sly humor and continuous action kept me entertained and up late! I enjoyed the Snow White fairy tale theme and it all tied together in the end. A fun read for the winter!

This was a GoodReads giveaway of a Kindle ebook. I hate to admit, but I am in the target audience age group. So a lot of this resonated with me. And the author is an Engineer, so there is some adherence to factual details that I appreciated. This was extremely tongue in cheek. So off the wall and full of puns and jokes. A lot of it I just had to shake my head in disbelief that someone would actually put it to paper. I lot of it came across to me as a big "Dad Joke". This is such a clever book! I loved all the fairy tale references, the odd characters and friendships, the quirky little sidebars (eg., the high school classroom lesson), the song references and especially the odd-ball ending. This is a book that I really couldn't put down from the first page to the last. Great work, Pete Simons! I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review. It was fractured tale of Snow White. It took me about 30% in the book, before I really became invested. The end was quite a surprise (or shall I say endings). I recommend this book and can not wait to read "Coyote" by Simons. It was fractured tale of Snow White. It took me about 30% in the book, before I really became invested.
