Fries and Alibis book 1 This is a delightful, witty new cozy series with a hint of paranormal. If you like snarky humor and memorable characters, you will love Trixie Silvertale! Catch this series at the start. Mizithra, Mitzy, Moon is and orphan. She works in a coffee shop, when she hasn’t partied too hard to show up. The rent is late; her bills aren’t paid, and she can’t remember exactly what she did at the bachelorette party last night! Then her life changes in an incredible moment. The grandmother she never knew, from the father she never met, has passed away. Incredibly for this young woman who grew up in the foster system, she now has money and a new place to go. The town of Pin Cherry Harbor, sitting beside a great lake is like nothing Mitzy has experienced before. She has inherited a used bookstore complete with an employee, Twiggy, a friend of her grandmother’s and an apartment upstairs through a hidden bookcase door. Even more surprising, the ghost of her grandmother is still in residence. Mitzy’s first welcome is far from warm. First the much too attractive sheriff tries to run her out of town as a vagrant when all she wants is a meal from Myrtle’s Diner. Then Pyewacket, her grandmother’s Caracal, brings a hunting trophy to the back door of the bookstore which results in Mitzy being arrested for murder and she hasn’t even been in town a whole day. The sheriff doesn’t seem to be looking for any other suspects. Mitzy will have to solve the crime herself if she wants to stay out of Jail! Can this stranger to Pin Cherry Harbor ferret out the culprit? Tattoos and Clues book 2 I love Agatha Christie for a realistic cozy, but this has to be my number one favorite for a paranormal cozy. From the setting, a bookstore named Bell, Book and Candle, to the characters, a slightly ditzy but quite intelligent young woman to her ghost grandma to the local Sherriff, everyone is memorable! Mitzy Moon spent most of her life as an orphan. When her unknown grandmother passed away, everything in Mitzy’s life changed. She was suddenly well off and a business owner in a small great lake’s town. She left her pitiful life in Arizona behind with no regrets. Now her life is more than full. She met her father, her grandmother’s dear friend and employee, Twiggy, and her grandmother’s less than ordinary lawyer. She inherited a giant cat with the bookstore and shares the place and apartment above it with her grandmother’s ghost! She even inherited one of her grandmother’s exhusbands who gifted her free burgers for life in his diner! She might have a bit of a crush on the local Sherriff. Despite the fact that the first thing he did was arrest her for murder the same dsy she arrived in town. When she finds another body, she can only hope she doesn’t come under suspicion again. The murdered man is identified as the brother of, Odell, her grandmother’s ex. He asks Mitzy to look into the death, since she successfully solved the murder she was accused of before. How will Sherriff Erick handle her nosing around another of his investigations? Who will find the murderer first? Will Mitzy’s budding paranormal gifts help her solve this crime? For a thoroughly delightful adventure, you can’t beat this series! Wings and Broken Things book 3 From the first book in this series, it became my favorite witch cozy. However, they just keep getting better as the characters and setting continue gaining vibrant life. If you like quirky characters, witty banter, good mystery, try the Mitzy Moon series by Trixie Silvertale! Mitzy has only been in Pin Cherry Harbor a few months but the people there have become her family. True she has her ghost-ma, who shares the bookstore with her, and her father but so many more have become precious to her. Though she hasn’t gotten as close to her crush, the sheriff, as she would like! In fact other than butting into is investigations and solving more than a few. Just as often though, he has arrested her for the crimes before she solves them. Thank goodness she inherited her grandmother’s lawyer along with everything else. When beloved local vet is the victim of a hit and run, Mitzy just has to investigate! What sort of trouble will she get into this time? Even though the sheriff hasn’t responded to her interest in him, someone else has their eye on Mitzy. Will competition spark Sheriff Erick’s desires at last? Sparks and Landmarks book 4 With each new release in this series, I find a new favorite. It really does just keep getting better! From the fabulous bookstore, Bell, Book and Candle, to the feisty familiar caracal, Pyewacket, these books are full of magical detail. Mitzy is really settling into life in Pin Cherry Harbor! She hasn’t even been arrested lately. Though when the empty building next to her bookstore burns down, an obvious arson, that may change. She can’t keep her nose out of this investigation. Her new sixth sense alerts her to the presence of a body in the fire long before it is discovered. Then her bookstore is broken into not long after the fire. Can these two events be related? Nothing seems to be missing, so why the break in? Mitzy’s father falls under suspicion for the arson and dead body. As an ex-con, he doesn’t have a lot going for him. It will be up to Mitzy to solve the crime and save the father she so recently met.

So so so good!!! I’m so glad I discovered this series! Mitzy, the main character, is someone you need to learn to love; she’s tough on the outside, but truly has a heart of gold. Ghost-ma, Pyewacket the caracal, Silas; they have all become favorite characters of mine! If you like paracozies with lots of humor and depth, and you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for? 1 Fries and Alibis - A young, edgy paranormal cozy that was amazing! First sentence and I was already intrigued. Mitzy made me smile a lot with her wicked sense of humor. And her smarts. A diamond in the rough. All fight and no flight. And the comfortable banter between her and the ghost of her late Grams (Ghost-ma) was very entertaining! A clever mystery too. Or more accurate: two mysteries are intermingled. This cozy was somewhat edgier than most cozies I’ve read and I loved it! I believe it’s up there with the best! This was the kind of book that has you turning the pages like mad and then you’re sad because it’s over and you have to wait until the next book comes out. 2 Tattoos and Clues - It was amazing! A paranormal cozy mystery that’s young and edgy, tough but fun to read; I thought it was absolutely amazing! Definitely a 5-star read, it was really good! Well-written. Fast-paced but not too fast. And Ghost-ma! She’s my favorite character. But caracal Pyewacket is a close second! But let’s not forget Mitzy: I love her too! All that toughness, but such a soft center. That combination makes her very real. And she’s funny. And I have things in common with her. Like how I can’t handle much perkiness before coffee in the morning either! Lol. Although I am slightly intimidated by her! No, that’s a joke. I really love reading about her. And I love those creative T-shirts she wears, there are some I’d really love to have! And she’s becoming a local, which is lovely to see. A great book! 3 Wings and Broken Things - An engaging hit-and-run mystery This is not a murder mystery, but that didn’t matter to me at all; the mystery was very interesting and engaging! Two mysteries actually: who ran over the vet, and who stole the angel statue with the ashes? A hit-and-run, and an angel thief. And Mitzy’s gotta solve it! I loved it. Especially Mitzy and her Grams ‘Ghost-ma’, but Silas is getting dearer to me with every book! And Pyewacket, the caracal, of course! Mitzy’s powers are slowly developing into more. Mitzy shows that underneath all that tough, she has a heart of pure gold. And I just love Ghost-ma! She has a big role in this book and I loved that! This book was hard to put down!

This is such a great series. It is fun to watch Mitzy go from an almost homeless person to having family and a solid place to stay. She is smart, snarky, funny and is very good a solving mysteries. Love the characters.

I was hooked on this series as soon as I read Book 1. I have now read all ten in the series and am anxiously awaiting #11. Here are my thoughts on Books 1 thru 3: Book 1: Fun. Delightful. Charming. Lots of great one-liners. Mitzi Moon, broke and jobless, finds herself the beneficiary of her grandmother’s “Last Will and Testament”. She has inherited a bookstore and a good amount of money. Mitzi sees this as the ideal time to move on and go check out that bookstore she now owns. But shortly after arr I was hooked on this series as soon as I read Book 1. But shortly after arriving in Pin Cherry Harbour she finds a body and becomes a suspect in a murder. So now Mitzy is determined to find the real killer and becomes a bit of an amateur detective. The characters are entertaining. Grams who just happens to be a ghost. Mitzy, quirky and sarcastic, can see and communicate with Grams (AKA Ghost-ma). And that girl can put away the food! Sheriff Erick Harper (AKA Sheriff Too Hot to Handle). Odell, the cook at Myrtle’s Diner who keeps Mitzi fed. Twiggy, Tilly and Tally, Silas, and Robin Pyewacket Goodfellow (Pye). Pye is my favorite – a caracal cat who is obsessed with Fruity Puffs cereal. A cast of remarkable characters who help Mitzi track down the real killer. I loved it! Made me smile and laugh. Mitzi isn’t quite used to how quickly news spreads in a small town so we experience small-town life with its good and bad points. Book 2: Mitzy Moon and all the characters you fell in love with in the first book are back. While Mitzy appears tough on the outside, inside she is sweet and generous. But dead bodies sure seem to find her. This time she is out on a walk with Pyewacket when she stumbles across a body that turns out to be Odell’s brother. With each book Mitzy, under the tutelage of her attorney Silas, becomes more aware of her paranormal gifts and how to control them. As the series evolves I speculate: Will Sheriff Erick and Mitzy ever lock lips? What is it with Deputy Paulsen? Will she ever thaw out? Is she capable of humor? Book 3: With each new book in this series my love for the residents of Pin Cherry Harbor grows. For me, the best part about the series is the relationship Mitzy forms with each character – Grams, Silas, Pye, Odell, Twiggy, Tally. For most of her life, Mitzy didn’t really have a family, but when she inherited her deceased grandmother’s bookshop that all changed. In Pin Cherry Harbor you do not have to be blood-related to be family. Mitzy Moon is spunky and sassy, but also very vulnerable. She “wears her heart on her sleeve. She has “gifts” that are slowly being discovered and nurtured by her Ghost-Ma and alchemist attorney Silas. The first two books in the series revolved around a murder. I was a bit concerned thinking that if the murders continued at that rate there would be few residents left and tourists would avoid the town. So it was a relief to find this book did not have a murder but still had a case for Mitzy to crack. A hit-and-run and a theft put Mitzy once again in the path of Sheriff “Too Hot to Handle” Harper as she does her own investigation (with the help of Pye). This being Mitzy’s first winter in Pin Cherry Harbor, she encountered quite a few challenges with which I could totally relate. Being from the South it reminded me of my first winter in Omaha. Learning the proper attire to wear (thank goodness Grams can help her there), trying to drive in the snow, even worse is walking on icy ground. And Mitzy isn’t the most graceful of people (again I relate). I had lots of flashbacks to my own expressions but it still made me laugh. I was a bit disappointed to read that Grams is not the plump little old lady I had envisioned. While she died in her early thirties, she chose her own “ghost-age” of thirty-five. I just can’t juxtapose that image with her characteristics described in the book. Rory Bombay is back and is now giving Sheriff Harper some competition. I don’t quite know what to make of him. To me he is sleazy but Mitzy likes him. It will be interesting to find out what direction their relationship will take. I highly recommend this series to those who enjoy a light mystery with lots of heart and humor.

Since the set comprises the first three in the series, I’ll do a little bit for each of the three; trust me, these are GREAT reads, I'm so glad I found them! Fries & Alibis – Book One When you inherit a bookshop in "almost-Canada" . . . there's nothing to stop you from deciding to "venture off to great lakes and mysterious harbors." I met Mizithra Achelois Moon in the first few pages of this new series, and honestly, I wasn't sure I'd warm up to her. Before the end of the chapter, however, I'd definitely changed my mind about Mitzy. Just hours after arriving to claim her inheritance, Mitzy finds herself arrested for the murder of a stranger she soon learns was her grandfather! Enter the mysterious Silas, the almost fatherly Odell, and the mischievous caracal called Pyewacket. As unlikely a set of sleuth's assistants as you'd ever want to meet; soon to be joined by the otherworldly presence of Mitzy's Grams - or Ghost-ma. What they uncover as they dig deep into both the current murder and a seemingly related one from years ago will keep you turning pages and falling head over heels for Silvertale's characters and the small sleepy town of Pin Cherry Harbour. Tattoos & Clues – Book Two Mitzy is at it again. Amid dreams of a deeper "relationship" with Sheriff Erick, Mitzy finds herself drawn into another investigation with long roots in the past. Erick had, of course, cautioned her to stay out of "police business", but when Odell - her first real friend after arriving unannounced in Pin Cherry Harbor - begs her to get to the bottom of his brother's death, she just can't say no. Enter a couple of near-death situations, Pyewacket sending in the B-team to save her, and her ever-growing and developing "powers", and we have the perfect recipe for mayhem and adventure. Silvertale does not disappoint! Wings & Broken Things – Book Three There's no murder this time . . . but there was a theft, and the thief saw another crime in progress. And Mitzi - much to Sheriff Harper's chagrin - is on the case! And . . . what does Rory Bombay have up his sleeve? Mitzi has her work cut out for her in more ways than one in this third entry to the Mitzi Moon Collection! An intriguing mystery, with characters near and dear to my heart. Always a page-turner; the engaging inhabitants of Pin Cherry Harbor draw you into yet another mystifying event. "You are the most irritating mammal in the universe, Pyewacket. And I think I love you." I think I do as well. I wonder if my dachshund would welcome a caracal fur-sibling? Grab this set as soon as you can; I can promise you exciting reading. And like me, you'll be wanting to move to Pin Cherry just so you can eat at Myrtle's and hear all the gossip! [I received prepublication copies of these books from the author with no obligation to review. This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]

What a great way to be introduced to Mitzy Moon - an omnibus of the first three books! Book 1: Fries and Alibies Fries and Alibis is filled with energy and action from the first page and never stops! Trixie Sivertale has written a fire-cracker of a start to the Mitzy Moon series. Mitzy is a tough, sarcastic, snarky, smart, and an occasionally vulnerable leading lady who has experienced more than her fair share of hard knocks from life. Things may finally be looking up for Mitzy when she inherits a book store from a grandmother she knew nothing about. Mitzy ditches Arizona for Pin Cherry Harbor and doesn't look back. Her introduction to the town is pretty awful - she is accused of being a vagrant and then she is arrested after finding a dead body behind her bookstore. Fortunately, Mitzi has some amazing allies in her corner: Isadora, her "Ghostma"; Tiggy, store assistant, and her late grandmother's best friend; Silas, the attorney; Odell, cook, and proprietor of the local diner; and Erick the hot sheriff. Mitzi is faced with a gargantuan task - she has to adapt to Pin Cherry Harbor, prove herself innocent of murder, and meet the dad she never knew. All of the elements of Fries and Alibis combine to make a really strong and compelling cozy mystery. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series! Book 2: Tattoos and Clues After reading Tattoos and Clues, Mitzy Moon has raced to the top of my list of favorite characters and Trixie Silvertale is a must-read author! Mitzy is growing as a character and developing strong relationships with Ghostma, Silas, Pyewacket (the most awesome Caracal ever), and her father. I love how organic the growth of these relationships is. The story in Tattoos and Clues is engrossing and filled with the exact right amount of twists and red herrings. I really like how important Pin Cherry Harbor is to the plot of the story - it gives Mitzy a place within the town and connections to her roots. The mystery in Tattoos and Clues begins with Mitzy finding a body while she is taking Pyewacket for a walk. From there she is taken on a truly wild and dangerous ride to solve the mystery. I can't wait to get my hands on book 3! I will be clearing my schedule so I can read it in one sitting. Book 3: Wings and Broken Things Mitzi Moon gets better with each book! Wings and Broken Things is exceptionally good. Mitzi is much more settled into her new life in Pin Cherry Harbor and is beginning to focus on learning about her psychic gifts. She is also developing real relationships with her ghostly grandmother; Silas, her alchemist attorney; Pyewacket, her adopted Caracal; and a new gentleman in her life, Mr. Bombay. The mystery in Wings and Broken Things is different - no one in Pin Cherry Harbor is killed. The lack of a body in no way takes away from the mystery that needs to be solved. Trixie Silvertale did an excellent job of keeping me on my toes! I really enjoyed the new characters who were introduced in the story and hope that they will play a part as the series continues.

This boxset contains the first three books in one of my favorite ghostly cozy mystery series. The first book, Fries and Alibis, starts off a little rocky as we meet Mitzy Moon. She is a bit abrasive as she has had, up to now, a very difficult life. The first book, Fries and Alibis, starts off a little rocky as we meet Mitzy Moon. She is a bit abrasive as she has had, up to now, a very difficult life. Going from a loving home to losing the only relative you know of, who is your mom, and ending up for years in foster care can make you put up high walls around your heart. In this first book, we get to know that Mitzy and we see her inherit a fabulous magical bookstore/home, and cat, but at the cost of another deceased relative, her father’s mother. Heartbreaking isn’t it? Well get ready for heartwarming and the thawing out of Mitzy’s walls. It seems that this wonderful magic kingdom of a place I have always dreamt of living in, (bookstore and library were always my pick for perfect home), comes with a ghostly presence only Mitzy can see and hear, her grandmother! There is a mystery to solve, of course, and it does wrap up well. But, for me, the secondary story swept me away. In the second book, Tattoos and Clues, we continue to get to know Mitzy, who is growing and changing, and her ghost-ma who is proving herself to be a very loving, and fun, character. We also become a bit more invested in a certain sheriff. I enjoyed the slower pace of trusting him as I felt it stayed true to Mitzy. We have a second mystery to solve and there is a certain deputy who, it seems, would like nothing more than to lock up Mitzy. In the final book of this boxset, Wings and Broken Things, Mitzy truly shines! This book is the one that truly had me sealed as a Mitzy Moon fan! This is the one that had me peeping around for the next book and hoping it wasn’t far off in the release horizon. In Wings we become more involved with Mitzy’s magical training, which I love!, and a possibility of romance springs up. So does death and a mystery to solve. What’s a girl going to do? Haha. With each book, we get to know, and love, more characters and see their relationship with Mitzy grow. I adore everything about this series. This boxset is a wonderful way to get to know Mitzy. I love that it has the first three books together as I think those three books show the most growth for Mitzy and are important to be read in order. Not having to wait between books helps you grow more attached to everyone. I do think you need to see Mitzy at her worst to fully appreciate her and how far she comes with love and a bit of magical guidance. If you haven’t been introduced to Mitzy Moon, this boxset is what I would recommend you buy.

The author, Trixie Silvertale, pulls us into Mitzy's world with its hilarious characters, a dash of burgeoning romance and lots of mystery and sleuthing, This book made me laugh out loud on quite a few occasions with its snark and one liners. I highly recommend this new series, you won't be disappointed. I have recently listened to the audio version. Colleen Marlo really brings the characters to life with different voices. It is very well narrated. I can't wait to listen to the next installment. Tattoos and Clues Another brilliant installment from Trixie Silvertale. Mitzy finds herself in an adventure, knee deep in trouble with smugglers. With the help from her lawyer, father, Caracal and Grams, her Ghost-ma, she must solve a murder and keep herself alive. Mitzy is sassy, snarky and feisty. With these attributes and her growing psychic gifts she's becoming one of my favourite heroines. I have just finished listening to the audio version. I enjoyed every minute of Mitzy's adventure, as the characters are brought to life by Colleen Marlo. Very well narrated. Buy Tattoo's and Clues, you won't be disappointed. Wings and Broken Things Wings and Broken Things is by far my favourite in the Mitzy Moon series. It's a who done it wrapped around a boys never-ending love for his mother who has passed away. Mitzy must solve the case of a hit and run and theft. Mixing this with her dipping her toes into the romance pool leads to more questions than answers. As usual she has the help from Grams, Silas and Pye. This series is becoming a fast favourite of mine. I have just finished listening to the audio version. Fries and Alibis is the first book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like amateur sleuths, small town intrigue, and a dash of the supernatural, then you will love Trixie Silvertale’s twisty whodunit. I love Tattoos and Clues! I cannot wait for the next book! I Love this series. Each book is better than the last. Every time I read one of Trixie Silvertale's books I'm surprised and delighted! Wings and Broken Things is an amazing book! The mystery is engaging and interesting. This is the third book in this series, and I have to say, I think it just keeps getting better. This book was a little different than the first two as it didn't so much deal with solving a murder, but who wants to live in a town where there a murder every book. I felt that this premise was a nice change of pace and kept things fresh and interesting. Mitzy gets more entangled in several unfortunate situations this time and it makes me wonder how she is going to get out of all these entanglements. it's funny and keeps me wanting more. I highly recommend reading to give it a chance and be ready to read it straight through from start to finish, I did.

With nothing to lose, she packed up and left her life behind, and moved to Pin Cherry Harbor. She had barely set foot int he town when she was arrested for murder by a very attractive sheriff. She didn't even know the guy. Help comes in strange forms and she must prove, not only that she didn't do it, but find out who did. Tattoos & Clues I loved this second installment of the series. In this one, Mitzy finds a dead body on the beach whilst taking Pye for a walk. It turns out the deceased is a relative of a friend of hers. When it is ruled as a murder, her friend asked her to look into the case. Things go wrong, take strange twists and turns, with near death experiences. This is a captivating read. Wings & Broken Things I really love the characters and story in this book. Mitzy Moon is psychic and wants to help when her local vet is the victim of a hit and run. At around the same time a house is robbed of an article precious to the owner. Mitzy gets the feeling that the two events are connected. Meanwhile Mitzy is romantically pursued by a handsome antiques dealer, who may or may not be after her rare books collection. Following a clue, Mitzy goes undercover at the local high school, with disastrous results. All is sorted with the help of her alchemist lawyer.

Book 2: Tattoos and Clues Book 2 continues the quirky life of this spunky detective/ bookstore owner. Add in the slow simmer possible romance and the exotic pet that more than earns his keep, and you have yet another highly entertaining read. The storyline itself is easy to follow along and keeps you reading with a smile and a giggle. Makes for a great read during a road trip or a flight. Definitely looking forward to book 3. Book 3: Wings and Broken Things Another very charming episode in the life of Mitzy Moon. This time misfortune befalls on the town vet and Mitzy makes a few unlikely friends at the same time. A very entertaining slice into her life! I found this extremely easy to read through with humorous content keeping things light sided. And of course, Pyewacket keeps assisting subtly from the sidelines! Looking forward to more about this reluctant investigator/shop owner / possible journalist?
