I think I just elevated procrastination to an ✨ art form ✨ because it’s taken me almost a month to get my thoughts once and finally written down as opposed to succumbing to leaving them to run circles around my mind until my head fucking spins. I mean, do I feel comfortable to let alone want to? No, aka precisely why I procrastinated doing so in the first place but, alas, I gotta do what I gotta do to get my pent-up feelings about this one out of my system once and for all. { if you don’t wann I think I just elevated procrastination to an ✨ art form ✨ because it’s taken me almost a month to get my thoughts once and finally written down as opposed to succumbing to leaving them to run circles around my mind until my head fucking spins. I mean, do I feel comfortable to let alone want to? No, aka precisely why I procrastinated doing so in the first place but, alas, I gotta do what I gotta do to get my pent-up feelings about this one out of my system once and for all. { if you don’t wanna read my review but at the same time wanna know why I rated this what I did, one that says it all and a thousand times better than I did is this review 🤍 } … Say When is an age-gap, student-teacher romance between newly 19-year-old Emilia, aka "Emmie", and her 33-year-old history of film professor, Hayden. Just like the blurb alludes to, they first meet before either of them realise the delicacy of their situation given the fact they’re both instantly and insanely attracted to each other. I guess, the rest is history. … I’m a highly sensitive person. If and whenever someone I love, care for or, hell, even just know of, is feeling any kind of emotion akin to devastated, melancholy, upset, etc. I, too, become helpless to my mind and body’s disposition to instantaneously be devastated, melancholy, upset, etc. too. I know this isn’t a therapy session and that I’m oversharing by confessing such a tmi truth about myself but it more or less leads up to or at least explains why I didn’t enjoy Say When : ➞ the heroine for pretty much the entirety of the book, I tried—and subsequently failed—to keep up a mantra from, ironically, the heroine herself : 'I try not to let her attitude bother me.' and I really, truly did try, only to maintain that she was in fact, more often than not, extremely insensitive and judgemental and unlikeable. Safe to say, it really helped to mar what perhaps could’ve been a decent forbidden romance for me. but let’s talk about Molly, the heroine’s best friend… Molly suffers from, including but not limited to, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive-disorder and, ostensibly, paranoia. as someone who suffers from the same, as someone who 'dashes over to lock the door, checking it twice after' , as someone who who feels that way on the daily, like Molly herself, and has ever since I can remember, it’s a gross understatement when I say I was immediately rubbed the wrong way when the heroine internally criticised her for her best friend’s said neuroses, all of which, by the way, can’t just be "fixed" or somehow willed away for the sake of others no matter how badly we want it to be. I mean, fuck, it’s not like we have the intention of being a nuisance to our best friend, a burden to our family. It’s not an option, it’s a compulsion . look, I don’t know if it’s me being melodramatic or overly sensitive. Or, if my feeling the need to justify myself just then was a result of my aforementioned neuroses. But the way the heroine was when it came to someone she deems her best friend? It didn’t sit well with me; quite frankly, it triggered me. one time, she said, and I quote, 'It’s not that hard to be nice to someone.' my immediate reaction? No way, she did not just say that because, what the actual fuck, ʰʸᵖᵒᶜʳⁱᵗⁱᶜᵃˡ ᵐᵘᶜʰ? at the end of the day, I couldn’t connect to her in any way, no matter how hard I tried to. Oh, my God, I tried, too. I looked for something—searched for anything—I could at the very least get myself to appreciate about her—but nothing gave. ➞ the hero and the heroine and their chemistry or lack thereof, if you ask me, because, for all their talk of the attraction and chemistry between them, I didn’t once feel it. … something I did feel? Molly deserves her own story. God knows I’d read hers in a heartbeat. in all likelihood, I’d actually love it, no less. … I vacillated and I vacillated hard about whether or not I’d end up reviewing this lest I irk let alone offend someone with my opinions because sadly not everybody is okay with readers leaving their utmost frank, honest and unbiased thoughts here when it comes to "negative" reviews. Still, my opinions are just that—mine. And a wise soul once told me it’s okay not to like a book, it doesn’t have to be a me problem if and whenever I don’t, and it’s okay to apply the same mindset to the books I don’t like that I do to the books I do like. Anyway, I hope she knows who she is but somehow if not, thank you, miss 🤍.

god what a shitty start to my day. dnf @ 18%. i went into this knowing it was gonna be a low-angst, kinda fluffy read. and that’s exactly what i wanted right now. so i assumed I’d love this. and it was kinda unbearable. i adored Emilia’s best friend Molly (she’s literally me), and i started out not liking Emilia, but then quickly just couldn’t stand her. at all. she’s not very understanding of her best friend’s mental health issues. she acts like she is, but her internal monologue and the way sh god what a shitty start to my day. dnf @ 18%. i went into this knowing it was gonna be a low-angst, kinda fluffy read. and that’s exactly what i wanted right now. so i assumed I’d love this. and it was kinda unbearable. i adored Emilia’s best friend Molly (she’s literally me), and i started out not liking Emilia, but then quickly just couldn’t stand her. at all. she’s not very understanding of her best friend’s mental health issues. she acts like she is, but her internal monologue and the way she speaks to Molly isn’t. i’d rather read about Molly and her coping with her OCD and anxiety while navigating college away from home and possibly falling in love. now THAT’S a story i want. i didn’t like Emilia saying Molly was ‘running back to mommy and daddy’ while she wasn’t. Molly has OCD (stated in the book) and anxiety by the looks of things too. you’d think her best friend would be a bit more understanding and sympathetic. but she was kinda mean. and as someone who’s had OCD and anxiety from a very young age, i rly sympathise with Molly and hate people like Emilia who think it’s something you can just turn off. Emilia was like ‘you’re not even giving it a chance’ and she’s letting her fears get in the way. *spoiler alert* that’s literally what having anxiety and OCD do to a person lmao. your thought process is anything but rational. and while, in my case anyway, i can acknowledge when my thought process spins out of control and becomes irrational, but that sense of sheer panic, like your drowning, still doesn’t go away. ngl, i even got a bit teary-eyed when Molly was trying to apologise to Emilia (which i rly don’t think she had to do) and said ‘i wish i wasn’t like this.’🥺 oohhh boy, did that kinda hurt bcos i know exactly how that feels. i’ve said it so many times when i was mentally defeated and at my lowest. so, it fuelled my annoyance and dislike of Emilia even more. (maybe it’s just a me thing and bcos how much of myself i see in Molly, but i just didn’t like Emilia). even the little things Molly did that literally were harmless and were just things that made her feel safe, secure and comfortable annoyed Emilia and i didn’t like that. like Molly double checking the locks on their apartment, or wanting to tour the campus early to familiarise herself with the layout. when i first started my uni, i toured the campus about five times? i drove around the city with my dad. on my own. i walked around the campus and the city (as the campus is located within the city itself). i would walk through the buildings and right up to the doors of my lecture halls and seminar room. all of it was harmless and made me feel safe. and it did for Molly too. so Emilia’s hostile and annoyed behaviour was uncalled for and highlighted what kind of person she was to me immediately. Molly wasn’t hurting anyone. she just wanted to feel safe and Emilia seemed to find it all inconvenient, when none of it was about her at all. but i do understand that Emilia felt blindsided by Molly’s sudden anxiety attack. but she didn’t need to be so rude about it. considering they’re best friends, you’d expect Emilia to be a bit more understanding. my three best friends are really understanding with my mental health— although, yeah sometimes i think they forget that certain situations we end up in can overwhelm me. but they never shame me for it. or make me feel less, like i imagined Molly felt when Emilia wasn’t understanding of Molly’s mental health issues. and bcos of this, i rly didn’t care about Emilia at all. she had that ‘i’m not like other girls’ and ‘no one will EVER understand me’ vibes. gurl, you’re moving away for university and feel overwhelmed and out of place. everyone feels like that lmao. she was just constantly throwing a pity party for herself about how no one could ever possibly understand her while refusing to try and understand anyone else, particularly her best friend. she just LOVED to make it all about her— she even said that Molly living with her wasn’t enough to get Molly comfortable to stay in their apartment for the first few weeks before term started. that’s bcos it has NOTHING to do with you, Emilia. Molly’s mental health won’t automatically get better bcos of you being there, and honestly with the way she was acting i’d do exactly what Molly did (and most anxiety sufferers would do) and retreat. when we feel unwelcome, like we’ve done something wrong and that we don’t belong, we hide and retreat. so, i didn’t blame Molly for wanting to stay away bcos Emilia was hostile the whole time while Molly was trying to reach out. and this was before the main plot had even began where Emilia meets her love interest, Hayden. and i think i would have liked the romance more if Emilia hadn’t given me such ‘not like other girl vibes’: (things she says to Hayden) 🤡 ‘I’m a very old soul’ (like this explains why an 18 year old girl should shag a 33 year old man— same old shit, just shag and say it’s cos you want to be together. enough of the whole ‘being an old soul’ as a justification) 🤡 ‘I’m so clumsy’ (she literally bumps her shoulder into Hayden’s while they’re preparing food in the kitchen) 🤡 the amount of times we’re reminded she has messy hair and she doesn’t put effort into her appearance 🤡 Hayden finding her endearing bcos she’s not afraid to eat ‘real food’ in front of him and likes a girl with a proper appetite (for fuck sake this one ALWAYS gets me, like why do u care what i eat?) 🤡 her thinking liking McDonald’s is weird or quirky. bro wtf. like her telling Hayden not to make fun of her for liking a Big Mac with extra sauce and a chocolate milkshake??? it’s McDonald’s. EVERYONE likes McDonald’s. 🤡 her having zero personality or interests of any kind. and then i had to stop at her thinking liking Big Macs was quirky and weird. bcos i care about myself. this was just not it. even softer, low-angst books can be enjoyable without being boring. but the author clearly didn’t get the memo with this book.

I love all things forbidden, so when I heart that Micalea was doing another student teacher romance, i could not wait to get my hands on this baby!! And overall, it was a cute and sweet story. I just didn't feel much beyond that. Let me go back for a second: last year Micalea released her BEST book, Sweet Dandelion, and to this day, I still recommend it to everyone. I don't care if it's what they usually read, I still recommend it. And beyond the forbidden aspect, it was such an *important* read. That being said, I would have liked this book more if it had been released before SD. I just couldn't help comparing the two books, which I know isn't fair, but I couldn't stop myself. This is still a good book, I just didn't love it as much as I hoped. Another reason why I struggled a bit was because of our heroine was verrrryyyy much an 18 year old. She was just too immature for my liking, and just.. naive, but also not, if that makes sense? I just couldn't connect with her. But you know what is with the three stars alone? C O N S E N T. Yeah, that does it for me. Whenever there was an intimate scene, Hayden always made sure that Emilia was on board with everything, and GODDAAAMMMNN, that set me on fire. There's been a lot of debates lately in the romance world if consent truly is needed in romances (which yes it is) and if you can be an alpha and still make sure your lady is consenting every step of the way (which you can.) All the stars to Micalea for that!! Also, Atlas. Need I say more? Like i said, this was a very sweet, easy going romance with definite feels. I would totally recommend this book to someone who is slowly dipping their feet into the forbidden pool.😊 **I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

She felt veryyyyy 18 to me throughout this and there's nothing wrong with that, but personally I very much winced and was very annoyed because I couldn't just side with her reasonings. I'm not going to lie, there was one conflict in this book, where I felt like someone SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. That's how much I couldn't imagine the... Just the fact that someone actually thought and did that. That did royally pissed me off but the ending redeemed itself so we're good. There were a lot of scenes in this book, particularly conversations between certain people in where I was just... I'm not going to question but I'm not going to marvel at the courage someone would ever have to actually talk about a blow job they experienced in front of their parents. Or wet dreams with their brother. Again, there's nothing wrong with, I just... I couldn't read that without cringing. Just saying. But aside from these LOVELY LITTLE Bits, Emilia and Hayden's friendship was so adorable. And their romance, it was so cute and sweet and Again the consent in this book makes me want to drown in a bottle of giddiness. The friendship between Emilia and Molly was interesting at first but then by the middle of it, I was really bored and I stopped caring. God bless Hayden Moore honestly. Why did he have to be the most SENSICAL CHARACTER?

I feel like I haven’t been able to enjoy a book in weeks. Thank God I picked this up when I did. Even though this is a student/professor romance, it didn’t feel forbidden. I loved how they met before knowing he taught her class, that gave it a different feel to most books with this trope. Hayden was such a gem for saving her & wow was he smooth about it. When it turned out that they lived across from each other it was clear that they were 100% made for each other, fate just kept pushing them together. I really believed in their love and was rooting for them the whole time. It was really steamy, angsty, lots of sexual tension and build up. when they finally got there, the steamy scenes were HOT and written so well. Hayden was sexy as sin while also being such a sweetheart and a gentleman throughout. The side characters in this were interesting, Molly had me intrigued but also confused, i would love to see her book. Atlas was my favourite side character, i found their sibling relationship to be really cute and funny, he was so supportive to her & they could tell each other everything. would also definitely read a book about him! (hear me out, atlas moves to paris and falls in love with ansel from sweet dandelion. just a thought!) The parents involved were all extremely dramatic which is to be expected i guess. molly’s mom was so overbearing i wanted to bitch slap her numerous times. Emilia was also slightly immature at times, her age shown a lot during the conflict, but again that’s to be expected. Overall, can’t recommend this book enough. you will fall in love with Hayden & their relationship. it really sucked me in and i never found myself getting bored with the story or not being invested in their relationship. my attention span recently has been slim to none so i feel like i just made a big statement. I believe my issue was that I kept comparing this to Sweet Dandelion. Won't lie, I did find a few similarities between the two, which I don't know if most would even notice, but because I am in love with that story and those characters and JUST THAT BOOK so much, that they just kept getting to me. But as even Micalea said, Say When was supposed to be a temporary, light-hearted escape from everything, which it sure was. Also, I'd love to know more about Molly's and Atlas' story. I really really adored the relation between Atlas and Emmie. (Again, kept comparing those two with Dani and Sage. Couldn't help it.) At the end, I'd recommend this to someone wanting to try the so-called forbidden trope of professor-student or simply someone who's looking for a quick, easy flowing read.

“From the moment you walked into my life, there was no chance of me losing anything. Because I gained the world. I got you.” 4/5⭐️ 2/3🔥 This was a fun and lighthearted student/professor, age gap, college romance. It was definitely a nice break from some of the really dark, emotional and heavy books I’ve been reading recently. If you’re looking for a forbidden romance that’s not overly taboo, I would recommend this one!

Y’all this book was so soft, I can’t even. I had so many emotions throughout the story, but I love how simple their love was. They were content in each other’s presence. It’s an overwhelmingly beautiful experience to read characters really connect that way. Emilia was such a ray of sunshine. I feel like sometimes love is worth you making drastic decisions to be with that other people. I’m so happy Emilia made that decision.

What a wonderful story from a wonderful author! I knew I wanted to read this one when I learned it was a teach/student romance! What I didn’t realize was this author was going to put her own unique twist on the taboo sub-genre ( YET AGAIN). Say When featured great characters, witty dialogue, some cringe worthy moments, a great plot twist, and some steamy romantic scenes! I would hands down read more from this author!

Micalea Schmeltzer has written some of my all time favorite books! She has a way of writing you typical Taboo trope and making it feel so normal and beautiful. I was expecting the plot to focus more on the age difference between the main character and her love interest and for the student/professor aspect to be more forbidden! I enjoyed the plot though and I was happy that it was different to what I was expecting! It only took me a few sittings to read as well! There was plenty of romance in the plot and the romance aspect really fueled the plot and kept me intrigued! There wasn't really any action or suspense, but the romance was definitely enough to keep me reading on! It allowed for a quite a few seriously hot scenes as well! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Emilia was the main female character, and I actually had a lot of respect for her in this book because she was on her own for the first time attending college and she made the best of the situation to support herself! Emilia also tried her best to support her friend and I think she did this very well! She also worked hard and I found myself liking her more and more as the plot progressed! Hayden was the love interest of Emilia! I loved Hayden in this book and it was also interesting to learn about his backstory because he had lost someone he loved and he tried his best to move on and start again! Hayden also had an interesting job that allowed him to mingle with some big people! I I liked the way Hayden was with Emilia as well and he didn't treat her like a child, even with the age difference! This book was only written from Emilia's point of view, which the synopsis gives the impression that it's going to be, but I was still expecting it to be written from dual point of view! I loved the book being written through Emilia's eyes, but I think it would have been really interesting to have went inside Hayden's head as well because I would have loved to have gotten to know more about him! I was still able to connect with him and it was easy to see his feelings for Emilia! It also allowed the reader to find out a big secret that shook the plot at the same time as Emilia! This book is also a standalone, but I see so much potential for a second book for Emilia and Hayden or even a prequel book that focuses on Emilia's best friend! If the author was to consider writing a second book or a prequel, I would definitely read it because I feel like there is so much more to both girls stories and I would love to see what happens next for them! The cover for this book is also absolutely stunning and I loved it as soon as I saw it! It matches the feel of the book and would definitely draw me to the book! The cover models/image also suit the characters of Emilia and Hayden! Big thank you to Micalea for an ARC of Say When!

    Reading About Love

There’s just something about Micalea’s writing that just grabs my heart, fills my soul, and makes me feel so good. This is the second book I’ve read by her and I am so smitten with her writing. My favorite part of a romance book is the sweet moments between the couple that make you really feel the love. This is the second book I’ve read by her and I am so smitten with her writing. My favorite part of a romance book is the sweet moments between the couple that make you really feel the love. I’m talking about the sweet acts of service, the little touches between the characters because they can’t help but want to be close to each other, the moments where they sit together and just talk for hours because they just want to be in each other's presence, and even just the moments where they bring each other their favorite thing because they’re thinking about the other person. These simple moments that we take advantage of are the best moments to read about in a book and Micalea really brings them to life with her writing. To just say I enjoyed this book wouldn’t give it enough credit. I absolutely loved this book. This is the book that wrapped up in its story so much that I stayed up super late reading it. This is the book that I’ve over-highlighted because I don’t want to forget any of the moments in it that gave me butterflies. This is the book I will go back to in a couple of months because I need to feel wrapped up in love again. This...is one of my favorite books. From the books I’ve read, it really seems like Micalea perfectly pairs her couples together and makes it like fate that they end up together. This is exactly what happened between Hayden and Emilia. Fate swoops in and determines that these two need to be together and quite honestly they are perfect for each other. This book is whole-heartedly about them, so there's not a lot of outer world things going on but that’s kinda why I enjoyed it so much. You really get to see their relationship progress and get in on all the sweet convos/moments between them. Along the way, you get to meet side characters that in the end really grew on me. Molly is Emilia’s roommate and while at first, I was apprehensive about her, I really started understanding her more once the book progressed. By the end, I couldn’t help but want her to get her own book because she has such a journey ahead of her. Also, I definitely have to mention Emilia’s brother, Atlas, because he is awesome and hilarious! He is my favorite secondary character and I need so much more of this nomad! I could stay in this book world all day long because I love these characters and this story so much! I’m honestly begging Micalea to write more books with these characters because I want so much more of them. If not, I know I will be coming back to this often because I will miss these characters like family. I already do and I just finished it. If you like age-gap and sweet romances you will love this book and the dynamic of this couple!

Way to go, Micalea 👌 Your magic is working 🥰 “Say When” is the kind of book that we need at this time for an excellent reading experience... light reading, but exhilarating and entertaining at the same time👍 It’s incredible that something like this storyline has come at a time of confusions over the covid, plus winter storms that unexpectedly brought havoc to the southern parts of our neighbors! We are all on this together, that no matter what... our vigilance and cooperation are needed to make changes for the better future of our children! That being said, let me then turn towards the original path where my mind was supposedly focused on 💕 This is all about a May-December L❤️VE story between our latest gorgeous heart throb Hayden Moore, professor extraordinaire ♥️ and an eighteen going on nineteen year old freshman college student, a beauty on her own right, whose original meeting, to my own perception was already made in Heaven, so to speak... why? Because it was already love at first sight for Hayden, believe it or not, it truly was happening... fate and destiny come hand on hand... just Say When, okay? I feel in love with Prof Moore, myself... I guess that’s what happens when we set aside our current erratic situations that’s been going on for a year now... and magically, our creative genius Micalea turns our hearts around, and I’m so thankful for her quick mindset, this book has really brought a smile to my face, and hearts aflame with hopes for a much brighter days ahead 👍👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩🌹🌈🌟✨

I want to give this book 2 stars but the author did say she wrote this fluffy book for the covid times so we could use it as escapism so that gets a star. However I will be listing things I hated in this book so there will be SPOILERS: - they had a cute meet cute but that was it. - Hayden was VERY BORING PLAIN was not invested in him at all the only thing that was nice about him was his screen writing career - EMILIA / EMMIE OHMYGOD at first she was tolerable and accepts the fact she is boring and I want to give this book 2 stars but the author did say she wrote this fluffy book for the covid times so we could use it as escapism so that gets a star. But she actually is... like usually if a character says their boring, they Atleast have one or two quirks... emmie had NONE. I did like how she got annoyed at Molly it added some human depth to Emilia. - I know it is clear that Hayden is not taking advantage of Emilia but OHMYGOD this love, this boring plain vanilla LOVE is not the hill you want to die on and move across the country for. I don’t UNDERSTAND why in the name of love she had to follow Hayden to move across the country. She literally cries when he treats her like she’s eighteen... and says don’t belittle me and then follows him around like the naive girl she is. - I feel like this book could have been more angsty if Emilia realized banging the professor was wrong, broke up with him bht longed for him. Got some life experience dating, because this chick HAD no experience, and then the whole “if it’s meant to be, they’ll meet again” and they meet in LA like 5 years later and start a relationship and have their HEA. Things I liked - Atlas - Amber

Talk about meet cute. Over and over and over again. I loved this from the beginning. I love older men/younger women. And throw in that they are student/teacher made it so much juicer. The only down side is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Their first meeting was cute. Their second was fate. Their third was the cherry on top. No matter how much they ran away, the world just threw them together. I loved that it was something just for them. Some people aren’t fans of secret romances, and usually Talk about meet cute. Micalea is one of those author’s that writes AMAZING side characters. I wish Molly and Atlas were more present. And I hope they get books of their own. Or hell I’d be ok if it was just one book ;) I do wish the ending had a little more. I feel like the ending was lacking in a way. There was no shock value to the big reveal. I wish it ended more with happily ever after rather then happily ever after for now as I feel like it ended. I think they need another book to explore their relationship out in the world, the struggles they come across as a couple with just a big age difference. All in all I loved it. Definitely recommend if you love age gaps and professor/student romances. P.S. I recieved an ARC to review.

Emilia is embarking on a new journey - the start of college. She vows to be bold and take more risks. One of those is to go out to a restaurant by herself, which is where she is saved by Hayden from a married man making unwanted advances. Though he's older she instantly feels comfortable being around him. Nothing happens and they go their separate ways. Fate intervenes when they see each other again the next day as neighbors. Emilia's happiness comes to a sudden halt when sitting in her film class on her first day of class and Hayden walks in as the professor. I love this author's work of student/teacher relationships. The characters feelings are built on respect, admiration, kindness, and open honesty. Hayden does his best to stay away from Emilia, but the heart wants what it wants. Their story is not of lust or desire but pure love, and the author wrote this in such a wonderful way the reader can't help but to root for their happy ever after. This was another amazing read and this is a definite one-click author for me! Hoping maybe Emilia's brother Atlas or best friend Molly gets their own stories!

For a forbidden romance, I really loved how sweet and easy to read this book was! I personally am not usually a fan of forbidden romances however, I love Micalea so I always read all her books. As usual, I was not disappointed! Emilia and Hayden’s story starts off with her trying to break out of her comfort zone, which is something I am sure we can all relate to needing/wanting to do. Their relationship starts to build up more until she finds out that he is her professor. They both try to fight their feelings for each other but eventually they give in. Like I said, generally I do not love forbidden romances as they tend to be too dark for me and overall they’re just not my cup of tea. However, I loved Hayden and Emilia’s story. It was short, cute and sweet! I’d actually really love to see more of Molly and her story and where her situation will take her. I feel like things ended so open with her that I need some closure for Emilia’s bestie!! Overall, this was definitely a fun read!

I'm not usually a fan of age gap romances but Say When was such a breath of fresh air. It was just what I needed to bring me out of a major book slump. It's lighthearted with low angst and just a little suspense thrown in wondering when this forbidden romance would be discovered. Emilia and Hayden have meet cute after meet cute that just proves they were meant to meet and be in each other's lives. Lol this actually my most favorite thing to do, I've never had issues with it but like thats just me. Others might feel differently. Anyways Hayden saves her from this creeper and they enjoy a meal together. Imagine their surprise when they find out they are neighbors. Now multiple that by 10 when Hayden ends up being her professor. Say When absolutely gave me anxiety. I kept waiting for then to get busted. And that's basically all I'm going to say about that.

This book was an absolute easy breezy read. I was hoping for something filled with love and excitement, without all the angst and drama I normally read. I needed a break from drama. Say When flowed so well. Emmie and Hayden are all the goals. This is a age gap, forbidden romance styled novel and it delivered. Consent is major here. Hayden gave Emmie all the power. I think that is important in general, but also in books where she is an age gap and one or both of the characters are inexperienced. T This book was an absolute easy breezy read. There obviously are scenes where the maturity level is very clear, but I think that made this realistic. There is one scene in this book that I told Micalea I appreciated, because you don't ever see it during sexy scenes. So A+ for her and that realism. I really enjoyed the side characters too...and secretly hoping we get more of them in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a easy flowing read, with romance and a dash of angst.

3.5* read. I love forbidden/taboo romances, so I couldn't wait to get stuck into this student teacher romance, especially as it's by an author I love. Unfortuntly this wasn't my favourite book by this author. I did have much higher expectations for Say When and maybe thats why I was left a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong it was a cute sweet story, I just struggled to feel much beyond that. I also really struggled to connect to the heroine, for her age she was just far to immature. 3.5 stars Say When was a good read. It is a forbidden, student-teacher, age-gap romance. I really liked the friendship that Emilia and Hayden had. It was sweet and fun with a little touch of flirty. The attraction was there and seeing how their friendship grew to something more was nice. They were cute together. I would like more on Molly and Atlas. There are stories there that need to be explored.
