Once again, CCJ delivers! It’s The Chase For Me was lighthearted and romantic. I’m so glad January finally got her story. She and Chase were an adorable couple. Their chemistry and flirtatious banter had me cheesin’ from ear to ear. I liked the dynamics of how they met and how they kept bumping into each other over and over. I loved the whole six degrees of separation that was going on. Everybody knew somebody that knew somebody. Riley and Kelly are the BFFs we all deserve. They were hilarious! Once again, CCJ delivers! I literally LOL at the witty banter between the three of them. Now while I loved the BFFs, lets be clear, Geezy stole show. That little lady is the Granny we all want and don’t want at the same time! She and her antics were out of pocket as always. We didn’t necessarily get to revisit with any of our old friends from The Heights but, they were mention in passing several times throughout the story. I absolutely loved It’s The Chase For Me. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!

Free Geezy!! Geezy Thee Stallion stole the show again! I don’t know how CCJ does it but every character feels fresh and new. Chase and January are a riot and their story is light and full of banter, no break ups, no angst, just fun and sexy times.

Geezy was the real star of this story. I was shocked when i made it to the end though. I enjoyed this book, loved the banter and how straight forward Chase was.

4.5 Geezy really made this book for me. But maybe I’m just one for the HEA formula cuz I didn’t think the relationship was developed enough. A lot of time was spent with her being mad at him and then him at work. Which is FINE if the rest of their romantically development was being...developed. Granted, the connections that brought them together for each situation was freaking cool and I loved that fluidity. And did I mention Geezy? Ms. Junie? Grandma June? Girl is crazy. The phone numbers...eh. But either way, it was still a great read. January has a beautiful name and I love her group of girlfriends. Plus the humor is always hands down from Christina C. Jones so imma hop onto her backlist cuz I know what I’m missing out on if I don’t.

At first I was annoyed with the profane laden conversation between January and Riley, but I continued reading and the story became laugh out loud good! These young people are crazy, but January's grandmother is absolutely hilarious. An "elderly child" indeed !!!! Girlfriend is not having it. Her grandchildren better stay in their lane because Miss June is running her own life! Loved the push and pull between Chase and January. I dug it I always enjoy the Heights stories. January and Chase's chemistry was cool (and I was glad when she redeemed herself 'cause I was NOT liking her) but there was something missing, though I can't quite pinpoint what. That's the only reason for going down a star. Riley was a trip, though. lol I dug it I always enjoy the Heights stories. We are in the Heights again in this lighthearted and romantic read and this time we get some background in January, who is August’s sister that appeared in Me + Somebody’s Son. The supporting characters in January’s best friends Riley and Kelly were great voices of reason and pointed out when January was being a hard butt for no reason. But the character that stole the show anytime she appeared on the page was Geezy! She is January and August’s grandmother and is who I aspire to be like one day. The quote about a “dry purse” priceless and wisdom for the ages. This read is hilarious from start to finish. 5 stars again Mrs. Jones.

I need more! The only thing I don't like about Christina C Jones shorts is that she creates these characters that you really really like and want to know more about and you can't get what you need from a short story. BUT, you usually get some closure in another story, possibly full length, because these characters all operate within the same world. I really really liked Chase and January. You can't go wrong when you choose a CCJ book! This was yet another cute love story taking place in my favorite neighborhood. When Nurse January bumps into tall, dark and handsome at Urban Grind, she has no idea of the thoughts that were brewing in his mind. Chase has no idea what his new venture in the Heights will bring, but after his encounter with Nurse January, he lives up to his name. Throw in some meddling besties and Grandma that's too lit and the hilarity ensues. Cute and completely lea You can't go wrong when you choose a CCJ book! CCJ does it again! We get more of Geezy antics and I was glad. This time we are getting the story of August's sister January and how fate kept her crossing paths with Chase, who is on my book bae list. I definitely wanted more of this story! Definitely appreciative this was released in the midst of the election madness. A welcomed comic relief! CCJ does it again! We get more of Geezy antics and I was glad. The Dark Knight or something else? Honey, this book had me laughing from the beginning! Riley and January are the most hilarious room mates and give each other the business with no apology. January is making her power moves. Working as a nurse and going to school to become a nurse practitioner and has been in a "dry spell" for a year. She runs into the finest black man the good Lord ever created, his imperfections make him perfect. He's too smooth for January with those perfect teeth, hooded eyes The Dark Knight or something else? F-boy alert, code 10! They banter, become Carlos and Jennifer and part ways. After a disastrous blind date with Eric Ericson (stick your head in a bucket bruh) guess who slides up to the vacant seat at the bar...NotCarlos (Chase). A night of countless small deaths and we pretend this didn't happen, I don't know you, you don't know me. Chase's response: “Fate led you back to me before, and if it’s supposed to be, we’ll run into to each other again.” “I already told you about that, remember?” She teased. “You’re supposed to act like you don’t see me.” “Okay John Cena, you know I ain’t doing that shit, right? If I see your ass again, that ass is mine. Period.” “Oh really?” she asked, trying to give attitude in her tone, but she couldn’t help her mouth pulling into a grin. “Yes really.” “Uh-huh. We’ll see.” Fate is something else because these two keep running into each other, but will January let Chase catch her for good?

I give this book 3.5 stars. I know this is a novella and I was fully prepared for a short and quick story. And though the story was cute and there were funny moments, I feel like it should have gone a little longer than the short 90-something pages that were written (or cut back on the many missed opportunities for January and Chase to progress). Additionally, there were grammatical issues (missing words, incorrect/misplaced words) peppered throughout the story that interrupted the flow of reading. CCJ’s books tend to be hit or miss for me. Some of her books I have thoroughly enjoyed and others were “meh” leaving me wishing I could have gotten those few hours I wasted reading the book back.

A little too Outlandish to Recover I am definitely okay with this book being a short but that unfortunately made it more of a challenge to absorb and recover from some of the more outlandish aspects of the story e.g. allowing a stranger to blow your nose, the “Dark” Knight myth, and not to mention Geezy’s actions/behavior. Now maybe I could see a 60 yo grandmother behaving this way but not an 80 yo. I didn’t find her endearing or cute. Excellent read Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Chase and January are great together. I enjoyed their interactions with each other. This story had good dialogue and the characters are hilarious. Especially grandma Junie and January’s besties, Riley and Kelly. I recommend this book. Christina C. It’s this one for me! So first of all Geezy is a straight fool! I loved her in G’s book and I loved her in this one! This book is one of my favorites by Christina so far! Funny, cute storyline, the friends could be my friends, etc. Their story was so cute too. I wish I lived in the Heights or Blackwood, or Blakewood or any of the cities mentioned in her books. If only they were real and the men were too (fanning myself). Chase is my favorite 😍

OH MY GOD. This was everything! Short but very, very sweet. "Call me Geezy Thee Stallion, cause I'm on that cash shit too. Going to bank to cash out this house right now. Shots on me later, I know y'all asses broke." January's grandma and her besties had me crack the fuck up OMG. All the Megan references: drive the boat, cash shit, hood rat shit, WAP... Yeah, of course, you know I'm eating that shit up! OH MY GOD. This was everything! Short but very, very sweet. "Call me Geezy Thee Stallion, cause I'm on that cash shit too. Fate I have been a fan of CCJ since I met her at a book signing in Los Angeles. She is so down to earth; just like her book characters. Just fun and like you know the characters as your friends. I always love to listen to the banter between friends in her books. The chemistry is always off tyr charts.

Worth the read First off can we get Geezy a love connection Story? I love that feisty unconventional grandma. Chase and January weren't supposed to go beyond their moment but circumstances had other plans. But January had to learn to get out her own way, good thing Chase didn't run away easily. Ended with me wanting Little more but still a good read. Worth the read First off can we get Geezy a love connection Story? I love that feisty unconventional grandma. Super sweet, but I wish for more! Loved this story. Funny, realistic characters. I just wish the story was longer! I loved how they kept running into each other and were connected in more ways than one. Keep them coming your doing great, but fully sized. These are too great to tease with novella length. 😁

Geezy!! I loved me some Geezy, who is one of the side characters in the book (love when authors have strong side characters - which speaks to the great writing of CCJ)! The whole book will make you laugh out loud. It was great witnessing the "fate" that summarizes Chase and January's story. Always love those Heights connections! Thanks CCJ! Geezy!! Fate is such a beautiful thing January was so bold about everything, why was she so bent on not giving dude a chance? Hence the title of this novella. Chase was a catch from the moment she spilled that coffee on him. Him being a successful entrepreneur was just the icing on the cake! And that daggone Great was a piece of work! Loved her crazy self! Good read😀
