What I liked most about this book was the fact that along with a no nonsense self-help book, the author also talks about her life and how implementing these steps helped her at a time where her reason 'why' was not only for her own mental well being, but for those around her as well. Setting her personal story aside, if you are someone who needs the help but doesn't have hours to read a self-help book, this looks promising. With tops and worksheets it does not act as a heavy burden, but a (possibly) simple solution in a chaotic lifestyle. 🦄🦄🦄 Rated 8/10 Melina L.

Disclaimer: I won this in a Goodreads Giveaway. I was surprised by how much I liked this book. Louise gives a glimpse into her life and the challenges she’s faced, but doesn’t shove it in your face like she’s some infallible conqueror. She was honest that things are hard, and gave the steps she took to work through those challenges. Yes, a lot of this information is already out there in other self help books, however, every other book takes dozens of pages to explain each step. Louise was concise, honest, practical, and wrote it with heart. I appreciate this book. Unfortunately I read it at a time where I feel pretty in balance, so no big obstacle to tackle, but I will absolutely be pulling this back off the shelf when I do have my next big mountain to climb. I’m so glad I entered this book’s giveaway!

5 stars, given I put my heart and soul into writing this concise little read about facing challenging moments in our lives. However, I'll honestly say, the book's exercises are slightly easier to complete when the book is read in paperback given there is space provided to write out answers. The free worksheet is available online at TeamValentineProject.com/products to complement the book, so that is handy to have close by to practice the 5 steps and remind myself that I can overcome anything lif 5 stars, given I put my heart and soul into writing this concise little read about facing challenging moments in our lives. However, I'll honestly say, the book's exercises are slightly easier to complete when the book is read in paperback given there is space provided to write out answers. The free worksheet is available online at TeamValentineProject.com/products to complement the book, so that is handy to have close by to practice the 5 steps and remind myself that I can overcome anything life brings my way. The book is also small enough that I can keep it on my desk as a visual reminder each day that I have a go-to solution to overcome a challenge any time I need it (and I need it a lot!). I action the simple steps provided in this book daily to keep myself empowered, positive, and strong when facing all sorts of different challenges like trying to reverse my health diagnoses, facing the unknowns in our military lifestyle, trying to efficiently lead my teams at work, and when training for upcoming races. I find the book most useful for those especially rough days when I just need to remember simply that "Everything will be ok because I am strong, resilient, and I know how to break through. I CAN be the light in this darkness." If I can overcome obstacles and take on personal goals using this simple 5 step process, so can others! Excited to read what others think of the book!
