Excellent Guide to Writing Your First Nonfiction Book I have read most of the books written by this author and find them to be well written in an easy, conversational tone and well organized, containing the right information in the right order to best help the reader. So, when his book about writing a nonfiction book showed up at one of my favorite book review sites, I was intrigued to find out more about his writing process. I'm so happy that I did, as he offers in this book a clear pathway to writing a nonfiction book from brainstorming to the actual writing to editing—and he even includes bonus chapters on publishing and marketing. I myself have written and published one nonfiction book, and I have guided other authors through writing their books as a freelance copy editor and proofreader for over 30 years. As such, I would quibble with a few of the details of the process described in the book, but what the author outlines will certainly work to help you get your first nonfiction book written and published... and then you might go on to refine a slightly different process for yourself. As a freelance editor, I certainly highly recommend that you work with a professional for copy editing or proofreading if you truly want your book to have that final polish and sparkle; plus, editors can find weaknesses in your writing that you might be blind to but can be easily fixed. If you've ever desired to write a nonfiction book, this book gives you a clear roadmap to do so. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

It was good for someone who wants to write a non-fiction book but I also believe that some of the lessons can be used for fictional books as well. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
