Running from love Jai and Hannah were both afraid of allowing themselves to love again. Luckily after a one night stand they realize everyone is not the same.

2.75 I do not like Hanna. From the moment she came in, she was all holier-than-thou and it was annoying to no end. Plus that article was unnecessary. For her to be a journalist, she made a lot of assumptions and ran with them. It got really annoying listening to her talk so I skipped through. It was also really amazing to me how she didn’t understand how bad that article was... like the stupid excuses for what she did, “you could’ve been dangerous...” Girl! Gone somewhere with that. She was a woman scorned and did something to deliberately hurt him. I liked Jai though. He was genuine the entire time, which is surprising to say since he’s in a disguise half of the book. He was a sweetheart who just wanted to do what he enjoyed. I honestly thought he forgave her really easily. He knew her reasons for destroying his trust were BS, but he still forgave her. Trust is a vital part of a relationship and she obliterated it, because he didn’t call? Personally, I think the best revenge is moving on with your life, so when I read stupid stuff like this, it really pisses me off. It makes people think it’s ok. Yeah, it turned out okay in the end, but what if it had the opposite affect? What if all his business tanked? She would feel like scum of the Earth (which she should). You don’t take the most intimate and sacred things from a person and exploit them cause you’re mad. I am so done with this book.

Hanna takes it upon herself to put the elusive Jai on blast. To that end, she disguises herself goes to work as a dishwasher in his restaurant. One night he saves her from being attacked by thugs and they fall into bed together. A personal crisis compels him to return to Paris and Hanna hurt, sad and missing him decides to go ahead with the piece she wants to do on him. Hanna is also a journalist so you know she is always looking for a story. Their one night together resulted in a bundle of joy that it took Hanna, her best friends and all of their contacts to track him down and let him know he is a dad. His return to the states, Hanna and his son brings about missteps, false starts and when the loss of his best friend propels him back to Paris he finally makes a decision to forge a life with Hanna and their son. Finally they find that balance between a happy life together versus being miserable apart. There was a lot to unpack in these characters' lives and MS. Brooks did an excellent job showing us just why initially these two together was a recipe for disaster! I really enjoyed Jai and Hanna's story!

Absolutely Beautiful I really enjoyed reading Jai and Hanna story it's emotional with fascinating characters. Their relationship is all most friends to enemies to life passionate partners. There is a lesson about trust and heartbreak but the end is full of romance and love this is awesome story that I hope you enjoy as much as I did. This Book Is dragging so bad, I might have to skip to the end. I'm at chapter 11 and boy oh boy, it's boring AF. I don't need constant sex, but this connection is taking too long. I managed to finish, but this author will not be added to my favorites list. If you like a slow drag, I recommend this book, if you need a fast pace, skip this book. Really? Please note....Writing the character of adult African American women can be a challenging...however to make the character seem moralistic while doing crazy things to the male lead is a bit of a stretch. Not that much forgiveness in the universe.

Real Life Ms. Brook’s writing in the first person is a startling yet satisfying switch! I so related to Jai’s backstory, and it was intriguing to experience his journey to wholeness with Hanna.
