Enjoyable Most stories have a good beginning, middle and end. This one did too with a few twist and turns. A better story then I thought it would be. I like nothing better when a writer can make me tear up,then I know it's well written and touched my heart! On to the next one! Enjoyable Most stories have a good beginning, middle and end. OK this book starts off with Eliza giving birth to her daughter Karina her second child as she already has a son Charlie. Unfortunately the man who wasn’t a good husband at all nor home ever had died so she was alone and I want her wrong with two children. What is a girl to do… Yes become a mail order bride. She winds up marrying author who needs a bribe to prove he is setting down routes and could be trusted to get a promotion as his boss passed him over because he was single and his colleague was not. So OK Beamery. Now little Charlie doesn’t like Mr. author as a matter of fact when author finally comes around after the wedding two days later and he’s there for breakfast he stands up in the office to fix the lies that are played food Little Charlie gets up takes the plate from him it says I’ll do it. There is no reprimand there is no listen up six-year-old Charlie you don’t speak to adults that way oh no. They are profusely apologetic as little Charlie had to be moved from his old home to his new one and he’s just experiencing changes. That’s why it was also OK the night before when he yelled at Charlie and told him to get out and nobody wanted him there. That is when the mother leaned over and said Charlie I know it’s scary moving and I’m sorry we had to do it and I want to apologize for having to move in alone no one beseeching this child to be nice once again instead of saying listen up six year old dude they’ll be no disrespect of the man who bought us a home to live in and feed us food every day and gives us credit at the local store to buy whatever we want so no they apologize to him. When it should be Little Charlie apologizing to Arthur. Then for the two days Arthur went missing after their marriage she kept saying I didn’t get remarried to be a single mother, I would love for the writer of this book to let me know and what wild west men helped with the children especially the stepchildren. Most stepparents don’t even like the stepchildren some do most down and for her to constantly complain about being a single mother in the 1800s no less and that’s not it that’s plenty more than just blew me away. I am so sick of these riders I won’t call them Aruthors because a real author would know the history before writing a historical book. Not write a book and give them 21st-century sensibilities been the most extreme sensibilities in the 21st-century because even today most parents wouldn’t allow the children to disrespect and adults. Not only that parents didn’t pick the children up in no way shape or form in 1800s as life was hard and it took forever to do one thing much less all the housework they needed to do in one day so this book is saying it’s a full made up and this woman knows nothing about history. So disappointing i’m glad it only cost a dollar because if it would’ve costed more I would’ve got my money back. If you want to write about people with 21st-century opinions in the 1800s right time travel not romantic history or rather historical romance I’m sorry., But you should read a book there’s lots of them on the daily life of pioneers please read one before writing your next book these are ridiculous.

But what neither of the couple realized was that through a missing part of the page where her ad seeking a husband had been located, he was unaware that she came into the marriage with two children. This misunderstanding set the stage throughout the book for future difficulties and other misunderstandings that wind up making their relationship and ability to trust each other much more difficult. As always with Ms Linnington's stories, I truly appreciate the fact that I can count on no matter the difficulties they encounter, and in this case there were a great number of issues for the family to find a way to overcome, that the book will end happily for all involved. The story is, as always, well written and something to be enjoyed. Anyone who enjoys a good mail order bride story should enjoy this one as well.

Arthur gets an eye opener when he finds that his bosses see having a family more like able to getting a promotion. So he orders himself a bride. But you should always read the fine print. Cause his comes with a baby and a son. Charlie and Colleen. They are a big step that he wasn’t exactly ready to take first thing. Many bumps in this story. In my opinion Eliza is behind almost all of them. Her first marriage tinted her to how a real man should be. But they do he have over it all in the end.

Interesting story with many turns and twists. The characters were brought to life with the way they were written. So many different turns to the story keep your attention thru to the end.

Great characters...great story! A story with twists and turns. Poor assumptions. Good and evil in the old west era. Love of man, a woman, and children. Glad to have ordered this book. Patricia

Nice Arthur and Eliza adventure begins years before they meet. They both had to learn about some challenges in life before they found each other. The biggest challenge is love and trust and that was the best part learning from each other.

Good Nice story with twists and turns. You can only hope mail order brides had ended up with this happiness. I do wonder how this book was edited for errors, a lot of mistakes.

Sweet Despite the absolute absurdity of getting lost when under clear skies and walking in SNOW, I did rather enjoy this story.

This was a poorly written book. Too many times the author used modern terminology. If an author cannot stay in the period then she should not write historical romance.
