For this group of friends and the age group they fell under (early twenties) their banter which was always on the sexual topic more often than not became a wee bit too repetitive and a little bit immature for their ages. And because of this I felt like it took it away from me connecting with the heroine and hero fully, and it just missed the mark in that aspect for me, making it really hard for me to push through and actually finish this, though some parts did garner a giggle other times it just fell flat. So for this I'm undecided on my rating. Some parts I loved, especially their childhood memories.

I've realized the more expectations you have from a book the more it lets you down. So honestly what I was expecting was: A cute shit romance where the hero suddenly starts having feelings for his best friend resulting in delicious angst and jealousy.(I utterly adore the whole confusion period where the hero and heroine are trying to deny their growing feelings for each other.) What I got was: The characters talking crudely 24/7 about sex sex and just some more sex. A stupid manwhore hero with his 4 other disgusting friends that sleep with half the women population and think it's somehow cool to not remember their names. Then they make a childish pact to not fall in love🙄. If I had a guy best friend who didn't respect women, I wouldn't even like to be his friend, dating would be an absolute no go🤷‍♀. Also is it too much to expect from authors for once to write about good decent heroes cz people there are men of substance out there! We don't really need to write about shallow, one dimensional, repulsive characters again and again☺️☺️. P.s,🥺I am not giving up on M. Robinson, she has written legendary books and I am hoping against hope that the next book will have a warm cutesy feel to it.😛

This was an ok, light read that was humerous at times.. But man, this just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was all the dick jokes -- no strike that, if WAS all the dick jokes. He acted mine Mia was soley on the earth just for him (not in a romantic way, in a possessive way) And it became to the point where he would be unreasonably pissed even his other friends spent time with her. Or when she made decisions about her own life. He wanted his cake and wanted to eat it too, never considering what it was doing to Mia. And I know we didn't actually see them be with other people, but they both hooked up with others before they finally got together, which just turned me off as well. I might very well just be in a funk, but this wasn't my favorite from this author. I did really love Cain though (despite all of his dick jokes too) & I think he has a surprising amount of depth to him, so I can't wait for his book! **I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

I didn’t think M could pull a rom-com, but she aced it! I really enjoyed how much lighter from her usual angsty af stories this was. I loved Leo and Mila. Not to mention, I am very excited for Ashton, Cain, and Sawyer to get their own books! If you’re looking for a funny story with a touch of M’s usual “feels,” I highly suggest you give this a try!

Is that possible?  I am going to give it a try! The Playboy Pact between Leo, Ashton, Cain, and Sawyer is to NEVER fall in love and to never get married. This decision was made after Cain's parents divorced and the boys never wanted to have to deal with that heartache ever. The boys are all best friends but Leo's bestie is also Mila, they were friends since birth.  They took baths together as kids, their families were close and their friendship meant the world to each other.  Now, as you know, M. Robinson is a fan of angst so these two just can't figure out they love each other because what's the fun in that? The Queen of Angst is alive and well in The Kiss but she also will surprise you with many funny, laugh-out-loud moments.  For me - the ability to make me laugh like this is an absolute LOVE for a rom-com.  There is no over the top needed for these laughs, just everyday things that happen with these characters that you will just love.  Get on board for the ride of your life with these new characters that M. Robinson has blessed us with.  Buckle up - it's gonna be so much fun.

WOW... with this book I definitely surpassed my previous record for the fastest read book ... I just could not put it down... I finished it in one sitting and I have no words to capture the enjoyment ... Some things are a bit unusual and unique, but because of their rarity, they are the most precious, like a friendship between a boy and a girl, an incredible connection of two hearts that breaks all stereotypes and prejudices. But the moment of separation is approaching, and the feelings are culminating ... but what will happen when the truth becomes clear and the feelings that overwhelm them are much more than friendship, much more than love ... What to do when there is a Pact and someone isn’t quite sure how to embrace those feelings. By the time truth hits with all the strength, will it be too late? A truly riveting best friends to lovers romances, with an extraordinary group of characters and snarky banter that will make you giggling and swooning. We all know that M. Robinson is the QUEEN OF ANGST, but she also proved to be the Queen of Rom-com. Filled with the angst to the brims, enough drama, and LOL moments, this story is definitely one of the best books I have read this year. We also have to acknowledge the fact that the plot and story, in general, were extremely refreshing and original. Taking us on a journey between the past and the present, this gifted author gives us a full back story that runs seamlessly with the present. Leo and Mila as characters were brilliantly developed, with enough depth to satisfy even the most peculiar reader. Their whole concept of being best friends forever, while everyone thinks something is going on between them was something that caught my attention from the very beginning. Leo is a really funny and loyal guy, who manages to impress everyone with his cocky and witty remarks, smartass attitude, and sexy-as-sin looks. We even forgive him for being a manwhore. Owning who he is with pride, well aware of his needs, plans, and intentions. Mila is an absolutely fabulous heroine. Smart and sassy, arrogant and stubborn at times, she is one excellent addition to the boy’s group. And the chemistry between them….OMG, I swear I could literally feel it… T cast of supporting characters such as Cain, Sawyer, and Ashton were absolutely perfectly interwoven in the whole story and added more depth and hilarious moments. With enough interesting moments involving them, this author surely knows how to intrigue us with future stories in the series. If you decide to read this book, get ready for an unforgettable journey, which will leave you speechless, a huge smile on your face, and warmth in your heart. A story that will definitely make you forget about everything around you and force you to devour it in one sitting.

I didn’t even get the chance to change my Goodreads status to ‘currently reading’ before I devoured this book in one sitting. Hooked from the very first chapter, there was no way I could put my kindle down. I absolutely loved everything about this story…. it’s a must read!!! All the characters in this story, which is thankfully the first in this new series, are fabulous. I have to admit that spending time with them was a pleasure. I absolutely loved the banter that they all shared. The laugh-out-loud moments brought tears to my eyes but then so did the heart in my mouth moments. OMG my emotions were working overtime as some scenes broke my heart and had me silently begging for the characters to make wise decisions, and dreading the outcomes should they not. I’m not going to say anything else except please read The Kiss as you will not be disappointed. The author, M. Robinson, has made an incredible start to what I envisage will become a favourite series of mine - it certainly will if I carry on devouring the stories like this first one! The Kiss is a brilliant, friends to lovers story. I’m now left desperate for Ashton’s book which is expected to be released in May 2021. I cannot wait to be back in the company of this fabulous group of friends.

At least this book can win the Guinness World Record of having the words cock and penis written more than a 100 times🤷🏼‍♀️

Now years later , they are both as thick as thieves since their childhood. But things are changing all of a sudden. One sudden incident , takes Leo to notice that the girl in front of him is not his best friend anymore but so much more. Mila has always been his best friend and wing woman. But now things are complicated. Especially with another one of his best friends being interested in Mila. There is no way he can let her go , but the real question is that will they be able to save their relationship and Friendship together? Or will this step destroy everything... Overall Opinion : Okk. So this book was a new one for Monica. Let me clear a few things first. I am a huge fan of her angst filled stories. Her perfect endings and those crazy Twists. She already warned us that this book was something new. But it was her book so I tried Reading this new genre by her. And I am so very disappointed to say that I did not like this one. I felt disconnected with the characters. Another thing that I found lacking was the they always talked about sex. There were no sexual scenes until almost 50% of the book but by God , they talked about it 24/7. I don't know if it was lack of mature characters or the lack of connection Between them , but I found myself DNFing this book. I am a huge fan of this Author which is why I will always read her books and everything she Releases in the future , but this genre by her is just simply not for me. So I won't be reading this series by her. A lot of people liked this book a lot , so I suggest that you decide for yourself. However for me , this was a DNF. Leo is such an easy person to love and it was obvious that he was head over heels with his other best friend, Mila. Both of them are in denial and the way that they realise this fact is really sly and extremely endearing. Mila is a really fantastic character too. Her banter and the way she fits in with the four friends is seamless and I admire the way she holds her own. This story was very original and I really can’t wait for the rest of the series.

But Leo has another friend Mila and they’re the cutest ever! I absolutely adored their friendship—I wish I had this kind of friendship but I guess that’s why I love reading! Leo was funny and a typical college boy (all these kids are) he loves girls and girls love him back. But no matter who he with he always comes back to Mila. And oh boy, these two are good at being in denial. But c’mon—we love the angst. Mila was amazing. I loved her. So so much. I loved her sass. Her confidence and personality. She made me laugh—actually this whole book and all the conversations made me laugh!! And these two together took a lot out of me—let’s just say I yelled a lot...hahahahaha! But again, angst!!! It took a lot for them to get to where they are but throughout the book you can’t doubt that they were meant for one another. AND! I seriously and literally and obviously canNOT wait for the other boys (especially Cain)! Ashton, hun, I’m ready for you! Few more months and we’ll be back in this world that I fell in utter love with! People, you MUST read this book!!

I do not want to say I was necessarily nervous when I learned The Kiss was going to be M. Robinsons first Rom-Com, but I felt something. It's not that I was even worried. I mean M. Robinson is the QUEEN of ANGST, but I just couldn't reconcile the QUEEN of angst and a Rom-Com part of her, just because I am so used to her ripping me to shreds and then piecing me back together again. With that said, 'The Kiss' caught me completely unaware, because the QUEEN of angst put her spin on THIS Rom-Com. For crying out loud, I felt this book like I feel her angsty books. At this point I have seriously come to the realization that this author could write the tale of literal dog ****, and it would still be amazing lol. Okay, Okay now let's dive into the point of this review, THE KISS! As I previously mentioned this authors originality is insane. The overall storyline will be one going down in history. Dead serious when I say I was four paragraphs in, and I had a hard time swallowing my own spit because HELLO, Leo Hawkins is a Hero... and then some. The development and depth? M. Robinson built this amazing back story that just fell into line with the present. Everything was so in sync, and the more the story went on, the more this author dug the depth out, and I couldn't help but want more. Everything was so fine tuned and that shows how amazing this author is when it comes to world building. Friends to Lovers to me, is the best trope/my favorite trope, and M. Robinson just showed me again as to why. Leo and Mila know each other in ways that wouldn't even make sense to most people. They are almost a reflection of one another, but then again not. So for me, the build up to more had me on the edge of my seat. I am a fan favorite of how this author did not rush that. I felt the chemistry between them, from the very beginning. The dialogue was witty and filled with enough banter to last a life time. Each and every character included in this storyline, left their own mark. I enjoyed each and everyone of them, and it goes without saying I am more than looking forward to seeing each of these characters getting their own stories. *I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK

They are soulmates and the trust between them was incredible. M. Robinson really rocked it. The awkward and confusing moments when they were crossing the line of friendship. The heartbreak and heartache when they didn't know how to face, accept and embrace their true feelings. It was truly the full package of steam and swoon. Also I am so in love with Leo's friends and I cannot wait to read their stories. The Kiss by M. Robinson filled my heart with so much happiness! This story was the prime example of how a romance can remove all my stress and refresh my heart. Reading as an escape cannot be any more effective. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

I am so excited to tell you about The Kiss! This is different from her usual trope with some conflict and a lot of laughs. It is light, sexy, funny, witty, and just what I needed. This is a standalone with a HEA. ****ARC received for an unbiased review.****

The Kiss is a complete change of pace for author M. Robinson, where her other work is usually dark and twisted this was on the lighter side of things. She tried a romcom and she nailed it!! I don't think I've ever laughed so hard from a book. Yes, there were dick jokes, yes there were a lot of innuendos but that is what it made it funny. For someone like me who has a tender heart when it comes to books this story this is exactly what I needed as a pick me up. Coulda, shoulda and woulda been a really cute best friends to lovers romance with a great cast of back up male characters if there had been a story. And where were Lala's girl friends? This one didn't leave the starting point. Nope, nada, no -- absolutely not for me!

You can call me picky but I am an English major and there are some things that I just can’t get through with, despite this I started reading the book anyway. The other thing that annoyed me the most was how childish could a person in their twenties be, which seems to me that the author doesn’t have an idea of how a 20-ish year-old acts like. I won’t read any further into this book, because these characters have attitudes that belong only to people under the age of ten. With that said, I will not recommend this book to anyone.

Too many "dick " and "tit" jokes for my tastes. Young people today are much, much more sophisticated than what I just read. The main characters were too immature and never grew up. My Rating: 4 stars Genre Best Friends to Lovers Romance I’ve been reading M. Robinson’s novels for a few years now and have enjoyed the heck out of them! When she announced she was writing a romcom (she’s known for her angstier reads) I was ecstatic! For one, romantic comedies are my favorite types of books to read and for another, M. I even read it in 2 days which is a feat on its own because I’ve been in a major book slump for the past 2 months. YAY for me and YAY for this book being one that I could devour in a short amount of time. THE KISS is the first book in the Playboy pact series but it can stand alone. These are interconnected standalones revolving different couples (the heroes are all best friends though). This is also a childhood friends / best friends to lovers romance (two more of my favorite things!). Mila and Leo were a hoot together. I loved their banter, the way they truly FELT like best friends who were hiding there feelings together, and the romance that evolves as the story progresses. There’s a bit of drama and angst (although the angst is VERY low) and a ton of misunderstandings, but the story is solid and a blast to read. Sure, the heroes were a bit immature (they are in their early 20’s though so it does make sense) but “meeting” the gang in this book makes me super excited for the next one. I can’t wait! If you’re looking for a romance that will give you the giggles and make you swoon, then I recommend giving this one a try. I’d recommend all of the authors novels as well if you’re new to her. My personal FAVORITE is HATED YOU THEN. .

I enjoyed this story about two people, Mila and Leo, who have been besties since they were born. She has always been his wingman, helping him pick up girls, and he always helped her hookup with guys. That's just the way they roll. When push comes to shove, will Leo make the move he so longs to make, without ruining their close friendship? This was a cute story, I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading more in this series! 5 stars for this one! I enjoyed this story about two people, Mila and Leo, who have been besties since they were born. What a fun read! M. Robinson brings us The Kiss, which is the first series in The Playboy Pact. The bantering back an forth had me giggling! Two head strong people who eventually give in to their desires! Best friends turned lovers! The resistance! And to top it off, a glance of what’s to come next, has me overly excited!

Or maybe it reminded me a little bit of "Complicate me" but on its worst version!!! Pff.... I'm really, really sorry about that!!! I'm feeling so awful, but I have to be true here!!! "We were best friends. However, a guy and a girl couldn't just be close without emotions getting involved, right?" Yep, there were potentions in this story, but the immature behavior of our male hero, Leo and his three male best friends when they were already out of college was giving on my nerves... These dudes were only talking about sex, sex, and sex... And in the middle of these four manchilds was Leo's best friend girl who was acting as his wingman, Mila... "It has always been that way between us. This unspoken bond, where words weren't needed to know how we were feeling. He was my person. I was his." To be totally honest with you, I wasn't feeling the connection between Leo and Mila. They were acting as two male friends who was shooting the shit all the time and out of nowhere, bang, everything changed... And at this point, I started to be a little bit intrigued, but we were already on 70% of the book... "There's no coming back from you, is there?" Why??? Why they have to be soooo immature these guys??? And still, I will keep reading the next books cause I'm having faith on Monica... I repeat, she had given me so many great rides with most of her books and I believe in her!!! Cain was definitely the character that intrigued me the more in here and I can not wait to read more about him!!! "Who did a number to you, Cain?" "My parents." P.S. I'm just wanted to point out that this is only MY personal opinion and it might be only an unpopular opinion. I'm just sorry that I couldn't like the book a little bit more. **An ARC was provided for the exchange of an honest review**

These characters were so childish, all they could joke about were cocks and tits; for f’s sake, this author needs other things to joke about. I felt zero chemistry between these two, this guy went from best friend to caveman in about 0.5 seconds and it wasn’t believable. If I hadn’t remembered the blurb, I wouldn’t know the name of these characters. I never forget characters names, I know names of couples that I’ve read years ago, I know them all. These ones couldn’t stick to my head, it was just how good this book was. The setting and timeline was a bit of a mess. They were in Cancun for two seconds and then they were back in Tennessee and something else was going on. Leo went all caveman about Cain asking Mila something. What the ever loving f**k was that, uh? These characters were almost like robots, placed around in certain settings and then the scene happened and they were somewhere else; we don’t know how they get there, what they are doing, nothing. I don’t even know their eye and hair colour. This book might be the most awful thing I’ve read this year, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

The Queen of Angst really did it!! You ask what that is... well basically DO NOT FALL IN LOVE!!! EVER!!! And that’s when all the fun begins. Mila and Leo can’t seem to understand their feelings for each other. Are the just friends or could they be more? They have so much history together that you would almost think it was easy to see. But there is a Pact and someone isn’t quite sure how to embrace those feelings. You want to shake this person but it has to happen so they can understand themselves and what they truly want. I’m so glad this author dipped her toes into this genre cause it was fabulous! Can’t wait for the rest of the crew to get their stories out.
