While I liked Masked Promises - I certainly didn't like Lucien as much as Adrian. Second chance romances are always hard for me - not sure I could forgive the circumstances that kept the couple apart or the things that happened while they weren't together. But that is me. Second chance romances are always hard for me - not sure I could forgive the circumstances that kept the couple apart or the things that happened while they weren't together. But that is me. Lucien and Serenity shared a single summer in love. When he left to attend to business in London, Serenity was informed by his mother that he was done with her and she needed to leave. Seven years later, she sees him again and is shocked when he immediately kisses her. Lucien looked for Serenity but it was as if she disappeared off the face of the earth. Now that he has found her again, he is determined to keep her. But there is pain on both sides of their storylines. Can they forgive each other and find a way back together? I did enjoy the story but Lucien let his head get in the way too often. I wanted him to talk to Serenity and reassure her that he was with her for the long haul. They loved each other and the story made that very clear. Good book.

I stumbled across this book when looking for something to read. I realize it’s book 2 in the series, but the first book doesn’t appear to be available on Amazon. (At least I couldn’t find it.) However, it had enough of the backstory that it was fine as a stand-alone book. As to the story itself, I cried quite a few times...and I’m not normally a cryer. (Then again, I am 8 months pregnant.) It was sweet and had many moving moments and enough intrigue to keep the momentum going. I suspect it may have been even more moving for those who had read the first book. I thought the use of flashbacks for some of the background between the H and h was a little off-putting. Not terribly so, but it disrupted the flow a little. Also, it had a direct influence on how I reacted to the characters in the ‘now.’ I wonder if it had been written chronologically how I would have reacted to them. But, I can also understand this may have been a more succinct way of telling the story. In summary, I recommend the book and feel it’s a bit more substantial of a read than the typical ‘romance fluff’ that’s out there.

This was a very Intruigung story! When I decided to read it I hadn’t realized it is the second book in a series. I think it can be read as a stand-alone but there were times that I had wished I read the previous one because I missed a lot. The writing is fantastic and full of emotion. Part of me wants to go back and read the previous one so I don’t miss a thing and the other part of me is saying haven’t you cried enough?? A wonderful story, with wonderful characters and an interesting storyline.

Second in the series With relatives like this, Lucien doesn't need enemies. Between his mother and his stepbrother, with the help of a distant cousin, his life is upended when the woman he loves, Serenity, was told that she was just a summer fling and that she could never fit into his life. When she gave birth to Lucien's child, she was told it was dead but years later Lucien and Serenity are reunited and the real struggle begins. Wonderful follow-up to the first book. A good story I enjoyed the first three books of this series. The characters and plots have all been interesting and we'll laid out. However there are the glaring grammatical errors. Case in point is in the last chapter of the third book were the hero's name which is Luke or Lucien suddenly is refered to as Julian. Obviously the author needs better beta readers or editors. Otherwise these novels would rate 5 stars. A good story I enjoyed the first three books of this series. The characters and plots have all been interesting and we'll laid out. Unmasking Prometheus, books 1 and 2. I can't believe all the 4+ star ratings these 2 books have gotten. Did people actually read them? Yikes. I finished them both, but it was not a happy experience. I don't think I've ever encountered such stupid, lazy, stylistically vapid, juvenile and typo-packed writing in my life. Certainly not in a book I chose to finish reading. I think I finished them because I could not believe how bad the writing was. The premise was interesting, so that's what kept me Unmasking Prometheus, books 1 and 2. I can't believe all the 4+ star ratings these 2 books have gotten. Did people actually read them? Yikes. The premise was interesting, so that's what kept me reading the first book and then this second one, but wow, was it cringe inducing. I gave this one 2 stars and that is solely because of the unusual premise. There is supposedly a third book coming, eventually, which will focus on the third brother, but whenever or if ever it shows up, it will get a hard pass from me. Ugh.

This book picks up almost immediately after the first one ends. Reunited with his lost love, Luke has to right the wrongs done to them both by his awful mother and stepbrother. This was a great story with awesome characters and a fantastic ending! I received a free copy from the author. My review is voluntary.

This is the second book in a series (the first being "Masked Intentions"). Although I do recommend reading the first one before picking this one up, I do think that there's enough in this one to catch you up and not have you feeling lost if you did read this one first. The series goes through three brothers' dark and redemptive stories. I loved the first 2, can't wait to grab the 3rd. This is the second book in a series (the first being "Masked Intentions"). I wish I could have found the first book😔 I thoroughly enjoyed Luke and Serinity's story. I cried for heartbreak, and truly found joy in the end. I would highly recommend this story, but still wish I could have found the first book in the series. I wish I could have found the first book😔 I thoroughly enjoyed Luke and Serinity's story.
