The A One Taste Novel series is set around a group of friends who started out working in the same firm until an event occurred that changed their lives forever. I really appreciate that each book in this series focuses on a specific character but also includes the characters from previous books. Dee O’Malley was introduced in the first book of this series but it was not until One Taste of Crazy that we were able to learn her backstory. There are many things I love about author Amanda Siegrist’s writing but the biggest for me is that I love her characters. I know I have said this before but the development of her characters is such that you become attached to every single one of them. Even the ones that are a wee bit unlovable. Dee’s character is a real piece of work but even though she was not my favorite I could not help but want good things for her. In One Taste of Crazy Dee has finally noticed, or accepted, that Detective Sauer has his eyes set on her. Too bad she won’t give him a chance. Dee has always been the loudest gal in the crowd. She is fiercely protective of her friends but more than that she is protective of her heart. She wears a prickly exterior in order to keep anyone from getting too close. Her childhood was a rough one and seeing how her mother always tried to “keep” a man around made Dee absolutely sure that she was never going to allow that for herself. It is because of this that Dee has never had a true relationship with a fella. She developed a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” attitude to keep her heart safe but when Detective Sauer clumsily asks her out on a date she finds that despite her convictions she can’t outright shoot him down or treat him how she would an ordinary guy. Detective Sauer is a shy guy around women but is a take charge guy in his line of work. His childhood was one of bullies and taunting and it has left him with some self-confidence issues in certain departments. His biggest challenge being talking to and dating women. Despite everyone feeling that Dee is completely wrong for him, and being vocal about it as well, he can’t help being infatuated with her. Everything about her calls to him and when he finally works up the nerve to ask her out, as bumbling as it was, she tells him he is adorable and walks away. This leaves Sauer is a state of confusion and embarrassment. He made a muck of things but she didn’t say no. Not knowing what to think of this, Sauer decides that he is going to try and put Dee out of mind. Until the moment that he gets that call: “Sauer, I need you.,” all his thoughts of moving on without Dee come crashing to a halt. When Dee realized that she was not alone in her house, the first person she thought to call was Sauer. That was the beginning of her realizing that maybe just maybe Sauer had wormed his way past the protective barrier she had around her heart. Also, any misgivings she may have had about Sauer being able to handle her quickly dissipated. As soon as he made it to the scene everything changed between them. Dee saw that Sauer was no pushover and his take charge attitude was an eye-opener for her. Or maybe it was his sweet but fierce kisses?? When Sauer realized that Dee was being targeted by the perp who has been responsible for a recent homicide he will do anything to keep her safe. He may be shy around women but when the woman he cares for is in danger, Sauer is all business. Dee is used to relying on herself and when she does not get the answers she wants from Sauer, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Sauer just wants to keep Dee safe and he also wants her to give him a chance to protect her. As tensions rise between these two characters so does the heat. Although neither Sauer or Dee can deny the attraction between them, they also have their own internal battles that threaten to drive them apart. In the end, it becomes a race against time and Sauer has to pull out all the stops in order to save Dee from the monster that wishes to have her for himself. What an experience. This story is one filled with romance, mystery, and suspense, all of which are expertly woven into a delightful tale that will keep you in states of excitement and alarm until the completion of this story. In a clear case of Shrinking Violet meets Attila the Hun on the field of attraction, commitment and romance, two personalities will find their differences are what make them so perfect together. Dee has her reasons for pushing away any thoughts of love and she tries her best to hold off the shy Detective Sauer. When she becomes a victim of an attack, a side of Sauer comes out that could make a grizzly cower. Too bad he can’t transfer his fierce law enforcement skills to taking what he has wanted for a long time. Instead, his shy and quiet demeanor, his own lack of self-confidence is easily run over with Dee’s over-powering attitude, until he finds a way to use the magic of a kiss to soothe her inner beast. Amanda Siegrist has your next romantic read right here and the tune Sauer and Dee dance to will sweep you off your feet, even as they can’t quite manage not to step on one another’s toes as they dance around the love that is growing. A quick read, not too heavy, filled with well-intentioned friends, humor and crazy-good chemistry! One Taste of Crazy was a fabulous read! This is my first book I have read by Amanda Siegrist and let me tell you, she did not disappoint with this book! I have not read book 1&2 in this series and was ecstatic that I could read this book as a standalone. I fell for Sauer the minute I started to read. I was not sure if I was going to like Dee. I was afraid she was going to be a snob and not even offer Sauer friendship. I was so glad I was wrong. I came to love Dee too. One Taste of Crazy is full One Taste of Crazy was a fabulous read! There were some scenes that had me laughing. I loved that Sauer showed his alpha self when Dee was in possible danger. I thought, WOW where did he come from. It definitely added the sexy in this book! If you love a good mystery/detective book, I recommend this book hands down! I enjoyed the plot and suspense. I love how the events of this book were played out.

I read the first two books in the series in one day, so I was not going to wait for this one, One Taste of Crazy by Amanda Siegrist. As I had read along and got to know the ladies better through each book, I began to relate to Dee more and more. She’s sassy, outspoken and loyal to her besties, Zoe and Rina. Beware those who mess with them. I think this is my favorite, because I can relate to Dee, more so than Zoe and Rina. And Sauer…aw…he is so darn cute and sweet. It’s funny how neither feels they are worthy of the other. Going on a date was a no go. He was too adorable of a guy for a girl like her. She’d break him… He is shy, quiet, and gets tongue tied around her. You know you gotta watch out for the quiet ones. Still waters and all. Now that Zoe and Rina are hooked up and happy, they want Dee to be the same. Playing matchmaker is harder that it looks, but they think Sauer is the perfect guy for her. So many things go wrong along the way. She is attacked in her home and it is Sauer to the rescue. The romance is on… The humorous writing kept me smiling through the danger that stalked her. A serial rapist, a murderer, has his sights set on Dee, and danger threatens her, and those close to her. Amanda Siegrist got me good in One Taste of Crazy. I enjoyed the other stories, but something about this one has sure got me going. Must be the characters, especially Dee. I find it so easy to relate to her. I feel like all the characters are now my friends and I am so happy I will be back with them, and Stitch and Susan in One Taste of Sin. I am super excited about Stitch and Susan, and when you meet him, you will know why. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of One Taste of Crazy by Amanda Siegrist. See more at fundinmentalt

It is crazy how one can sense that through words on a page. I would have maybe liked a little more time spent on the final development in the case. It felt too quickly resolved, but luckily it did not take away from my enjoyment of the story, and I think that that's because, first and foremost, this is a romance. This is just such a feel good novel, and it made me happy reading it. Thank you again Amanda Siegrist!

I mean, there’s a serial killer stalking you and you’re more worried about whether the hot bodyguard thinks you’re pretty than you are about the lingering threat of DEATH hanging over your head? No WAY would that happen in real life. So, I approach romantic suspense reads VERY carefully. (As carefully as I approach giant hairy spiders and anything with tofu in it.) But I’ve read this author’s work before and was impressed, and frankly, the whole notion of a “shy and awkward” police detective in a romantic suspense novel totally piqued my interest (they’re usually slick, swaggering, alpha-holes), so I decided to give this one a try. Overall, I’m really glad I did. Sauer was a great hero. He was tough and alpha when he needed to be, but sweet and patient and endearingly shy when it came to emotional matters. He was a rarity in Romance Land, and I appreciate the hell out of unique, totally non-cliche characters. The mechanics of the story were also good. The pacing was even, the dialogue felt natural, and I found very few typos and other grammatical errors. (Hey, no one’s perfect. There’s no editor alive that will catch EVERY typo, so I urge all you grammar Nazis out there—you know who you are—to ease up a bit.) I had a couple of nitpicks, but nothing so egregious that it really damaged my overall enjoyment of the story: 1. All the characters in the book kept telling me how loud and crazy and wild Dee was, but I didn’t really ever get to see much of that personality in Dee’s actions and dialogue. A little more “showing” rather than “telling” in this case would’ve been nice. 2. I was a little irritated with Dee’s insistence on impeding Sauer’s investigation and “helping”. My husband’s an engineer. I don’t ever force my way into his work and insist on “helping” him program robots and shit. I’d be in his way if I did. No one needs that kind of “help”. I know you’re a “spunky” heroine, but let the man do his job, Dee! 3. I would’ve liked some insight into the villain. Maybe some scenes from his perspective, or something? Something to make him less of a one-dimensional crazy dude? 4. This group of cops talked about their feelings and relationships quite a bit. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that a group of hardened police detectives would ever sit around and give one of their own a bunch of romance pep-talks and sage romantic advice. And fair warning: as stated in the blurb, there is instalove. It personally doesn’t bother me too much. I don’t find instalove to be any more unbelievable than, say, werewolves, and I read the crap out of werewolf books. I only mention it because I know that instalove is a huge no-no for some readers. (*shrugs* To each his own, I say.)

One Taste of Crazy is the first book that I've read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. Of course, totally LOVE the title! There are two detectives who are totally polar opposites. However, after she's attacked, and Sauer figures out it has to do with the case he's investigating, all of his shyness goes right out of the window, as he's determined to protect her at all costs. This story was original, as I really don't read many books where the male lead is so shy, usually they are the douchebags, so it was a bit refreshing. And I love anything that has the suspense factor in it, which this one did, so there were some f-bomb dropping worthy twists that came out of left field. My issue which kept me from a perfect rating, was the third person aspect of it. Of course this is only MY opinion, but I felt it took away from giving me that intense heart racing feeling that I love in my law enforcement books. With all of that being said, I want to say that I am excited to read more by Amanda Seigrist in the future!

Dee and Sauer's story was perfect. I haven't read the other 2 books, but you don't have to in order to read this one. This is my first Amanda Siegrist novel but the third book in her One Taste Series. I can verify that One Taste of Crazy can be read as a standalone, and I’m curious to know more about the previous two couples- Zeke and Zoe and Ben and Rina.  “Give me a sprinkle of crazy, a dose of loudness, with a shower of beauty, and I have all I want.” Sauer has had a crush on Dee for a very long time. He’s confident in his position as a detective and is often a man suspects don’t want in their face. But when it comes to his social life… He’s the quiet guy. The shy guy. The Beta male with Alpha tendencies if it involves his profession. Dee O’ Malley is his total opposite.  “That was the problem. When it came to women, forget it. Words didn’t come out sounding right. He was nothing more than an incompetent moron.” Dee is a secretary at an accounting firm with one of her two best friends. She’s loud, brash, and aggressive on the outside. On the inside, she’s that little girl her mother didn’t love enough and no male would stick around for… Her crazy is a protective shield to keep others from getting too close. She finds Sauer to be adorable but thinks she’s not good enough for him. “Not many men could handle her. Her sharp words. Her honesty. Her loud personality. She refused to do one thing. Change for a man. No man was worth that.” This was a really sweet read with a dose of mystery and suspense. Unlike most suspense/mystery novels, I didn’t guess who the villain was right off the bat. I absolutely LOVED Sauer! LOVED HIM! His feelings for Dee were deep and intense, but sweet and reverent. They worked as a couple. He was the calm to her wild. Her anchor in a stormy sea. He would never be bored because she brought life and excitement into his world.  “True love. He believed in it. He always did. He just never thought he’d find it. Never thought he’d meet a woman who would love him for him. Shyness and all.”  I give this book 4 loud and crazy stars!

One taste of crazy is a sweet, sexy, suspenseful mystery with two people who live in hope but believe they will never have love in their life. I adored Sauer. He was our geek turned sexy police detective. Always trying to please those around him he hates confrontation and so tries to always avoid it. But you can only push him so far. He has been in love with Deena from first sight. She is his total opposite, loud, in your face and completely crazy. He would love nothing more than to be with her, but being the shy, quite type he becomes completely tongue tied around her. This all changes when Dee is attacked in her own home and this protective surge rises and bypasses all of that shyness and turns Sauer's life upside down. Dee learned from her mother what men are truly like, hence the reason she uses them for one thing. Although when Sauer blushes from the things she says to him her heart can't help but flutter. She is determined to find the man that attacked her at all costs even if it means aggravating Sauer. She is not used to taking a back seat and letting someone else look out for her well being. This was a great story. It follows a road of self discovery almost for Dee and Sauer. Where Dee needs to learn to ask for help and let people in, not changing who she is but letting someone help her, and Sauer learning to go for what he wants, to not sit on the sidelines letting life pass him by. These two where the perfect fit for each other a they brought out the dormant side of their personalities. Beautiful tale with a healthy dose of suspense and mystery thrown in. Well worth the read.

A fast-paced opposites attract romantic suspense One Taste of Crazy is an opposites attract romance that follows in true style of this series as a light but slightly gritty romantic suspense. While it is slightly insta-love, like the others, this one also has more of an acquaintances to lovers feel where feelings are quite as instantly developing, something I really liked. The book is relatively light hearted but with just enough tension and drama with a dash of humour. Told from dual perspective, Dee is a strong, sassy woman, a complete contrast to Sauer who can barely string a sentence together around her. However, his quirkiness has an endearing side and the strength in his character that is shown in his police work reveals he might just be able to match up to Dee. The vulnerability we see in Dee, too, adds to readers quickly rooting for the couple and as things heat up and circumstances force them closer, it only solidifies just how much chemistry there is between the couple that grows into something more. Overall, if you enjoy a fast-paced romance, give this book or series a try! *I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! It's the first by Amanda Siegrist that I've read, and now that I have, I'm going to get the previous two books. The wonderful Detective Sauer made me laugh and cringe and cheer him on to the very last page. And what a wonderful dominance it was! I loved it when Dee realised she actually was attracted to him and wondered "what if..." The running jokes with his workmates and friends and the one about his first name...absolutely brilliant!!! Wonderful writing, wonderful humour, fabulous characters, fabulous story. Yep, you guessed it, I LOVE this story!

Review by Jen: Absolutely loved One Taste of Crazy. A great story of Sauer and Dee finding love where you least expected it. With a murderous twist. It was a gripping story that you just had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next. While it can be read as a stand alone. I did find it helpful to read the first 2 books of the series so that I was acquainted with the other characters in the book. 4.5 Stars

This is the 3rd book in this series, and the first book of this authors’ work which I have read. I will certainly be 1-clicking the rest of this series. This is Detective Sauer and Dee’s story. These two are total opposites in every way, and they both want different things out of life. This is an enjoyable and entertaining read. Well done Amanda!

A very fun and cute romance. A good amount of suspense mixed with hot steamy scenes and some lovable characters makes for an excellent story! Great plot as well. This was one fun exciting sexy laugh out loud and intense book. This is the very first book of Amanda Siegrist that I have read and was not disappointed. Then we have beautiful red hair loud out to have fun Dee O'Malley whom doesn't think she'll find love because men stick around. Soon something happens and brings these two very opposites together and can not deny the chemistry that is hot. Can these two work together and trust each other? Will Dee stop fighting the chemistry between them? Will Detective Sauer stick around?

As a third instalment, not that it matters which order you read them in, this book wasn't as fast paced for me as the other ones. I wanted more of Dee and Sauer more than the background story and it dragged for me a little. I loved how the two go back and forth with each other and the heat is definitely there but I felt like i needed more. The ending also felt a bit rushed. Overall I loved it (and the whole series) ; 4 stars! As a third instalment, not that it matters which order you read them in, this book wasn't as fast paced for me as the other ones. If you're into romance, suspense, and humor, you need to read this book! I don't normally read romantic suspense, but I'm glad I tried it. I loved the build up and chemistry between Dee and Sauer--he was a different sort of book boyfriend, and it was awesome. It is a Book 3, but I had no trouble reading it as a standalone. I've read this series out of order and that's okay because each book can be read as a standalone, and I'm glad I read this one last because Sauer is by far, my most favorite guy in this series. Sweet, shy, and often fumbling over words, he's had a crush on Dee for what seems like forever. So when he finally asks her out, he totally blows it by stumbling over the words, and he never really does quite get an answer from her. So when he finally asks her out, he totally blows it by stumbling over the words, and he never really does quite get an answer from her. Dee is brash, a self-proclaimed bitch, who knows that she isn't relationship material. But there is something about Sauer that draws her in. Maybe it's the fact she can't spar with him like other guys because he's so agreeable. They both have a rough past and together they can heal each other. With the convincing of her friends Zoe and Rena (who we meet in the previous books), she slowly starts crumbling the walls she's put up to give him a chance. And wow, I am so glad she did! Who knew underneath all that shy exterior was a guy who would take total control when he's scared to lose the girl he loves. I absolutely love it! Dee is absolutely stubborn, and while a guy has twice tried to hurt her, she is set on figuring out who it is, with or without Sauer's help. Man, that streak is strong and makes him even crazier about her. I loved trying to figure out who was after her and I love the insta-love aspect that is written in because it couldn't have happened to two better characters. Very well done!

Touch of crazy may be understating the crazy in this book. I realize it’s a very serious book but these friends when not solving crimes are a hoot. Between matchmaking going wrong, cops trying to keep their women happy, his tied up tongue and his red head woman (who drives him crazy) I can’t tell you how much I chuckled and laughed out loud. I love this author and the range of emotions she will take you through in her reads from laughing out loud to holding my breath waiting for . . . that’s what keeps me coming back. This series is a hoot while it also gives you her endearing side with suspense, thrills and action. Dee is going to have to teach Sauer to use his words since when she’s around he loses them. Then again if you ask her his words are always the right ones. They are crazy cute, she's a lotta crazy and together they are crazy in love.

Better and Better This is the third book in a series about three best friends. I loved the first one. The second was even better than the first. Now this one is spectacular! More mystery in this one but still a very good romance. This one is not for the faint of heart. It has a pretty gruesome serene involving our heroine. The HEA was great. The author includes the characters from the first two books so the reader knows what is happening to the characters from the first two books.

Loving these books I love how in this series the characters carry through and you find out more about each one. The character are really easy to sympathise with. Dee and Sauer are total opposite but as the old saying goes the attract each other too. When Dee is attacked Sauer insists she stays with him and let him do his job but Dee has other ideas and tries to find out who her attacker is by her self.
