I really enjoyed Brian's determination of the sport as well as his dedication to Andrew. It's like a good combination. Also, the two are super cute! Plot: Brian Weber falls in love with Andrew Engel in the previous books of the series, and this story picks up on it, mainly highlighting Brian's desire to be the well-equipt hockey player that his boyfriend is. His desire is so strong that he joins his school's hockey team, and becomes teammates with his boyfriend. Since he's never played a single game in his life, he's got a lot of practicing and training to endure, of which Andrew helps him through the treacherous pathway. My review: I loved the deep connection between the two characters, Brian and Andrew. There's a deep level of chemistry between the two that I find to be unique. Brian's completely committed to his dream of become a hockey player, and Andrew's committed to making his dream come true. There's a major event in the end, but I won't spoil it. Oh yes, there's also a bunch of sex too, which was hot. The verdict: 4 stars.

Thank you so much for the ARC copy, much appreciated! The Change in the Game is about a novel hockey player, Brian Weber, who joins the Badgers hockey team in a plea to save it from going under. His boyfriend, Andrew Engel, is willing to dedicate his time to helping him train and get him ready for the big game against the MN Gophers. In the midst of all this, his hobby for writing picks up and he finishes his book about his relationship with Andrew and publishes it. It went well, until one of his former classmates reads about it and accuses Brian of featuring him in the book which ends up with another antagonist on his hands. This book was more than I expected. Way more, and I don't think that covers it. I must admit at first, didn't think I was going to get much out of the book since I know someone needs plenty of experience in the sport to get on a team, but it worked for me (it's fiction after all). The part that really drew me in is the emotion connection I got when reading through the more romantic-fueled scenes. You see, Brian's got this odd desire where he wants to imitate Andrew, but it's something he cannot control himself. He's greatly worried that Andrew's going to leave him, but he actually continues to stay by his side and wants to help him out and support him emotionally. That's what I enjoyed the most. Despite Brian's unique insecurities, he's willing to be there for him. I read the first two books in The Change series and equally enjoyed them as well. They're all unique stories with a soft spot in my heart.

This was my first try at an MM romance. And oh my! Was it ever good! I don't know how it had never occurred to me that a hockey MM romance would be everything and then some! Brian and Andrew are amazing. Brian's journey into discovering who he really is, is breathtaking. The chemistry these two have is overwhelming. This was my first try at an MM romance. And oh my! I know I read the series out of order, but I couldn’t resist it when I saw one of the books being a hockey one. The sex scenes are so hot and well written and so integral to the plot, and they kept my toes curled. If you like MM this is for you, and if you've never read any MM start HERE! Give me all of the novels about hockey players in love who are supported by their teammates and their friends and get all of the good things they want and deserve, while suffering through a single conflict that lasts literally a page.

I'm not into hockey (need I mention what I'm into?) but I loved this story! It may be a coincidence, but this story is very similar to how I got into sports to begin with.
