BOOK 1 THE BABY SURPRISE!! I Didn't read the other 2 books in this 3 story books in Unexpected Surprises. I didn't know when I downloaded the book from Kindle Unlimited that it had 3 books. The other problem I had with the story is Blake is now a Fertility Special Doctor with his own Clinic in New York. OK I know a great bit about this from family experience and this doctors especially if they are one of the best makes MILLIONS of $ a year and Blake the way he is written riding subways comes across as having a middle class income. Yeah he was helping his family but still these doctors are Millionaires. Story was Unbelievable and not enough time spent on the couple together.

I read the Baby Surprise and I absolutely loved it. This was a second chance romance book about Marjorie and Blake. They dated as teens and then Blake left never to be heard from again. Blake was a family man who knew his family should always come first. They didn’t have a lot but they worked for everything they had. Marjorie’s home life was a bit different. They had a beautiful life and they had lots of money. Marjorie’s dad didn’t care much for Blake and didn’t want him with his daughter. Do w I read the Baby Surprise and I absolutely loved it. She decided to take matters in to her own hands and went to a fertility specialist. The best fertility specialist in NY. When the doctor walked in the room she didn’t know what to do she came face to face with the one who got away. Her first true love. Blake...Dr. Blake Mathieson! Will Marjorie and Blake have a second chance at a happy ending or will the damage done already be to much? Absolutely great read!!

Not good - too convoluted I really have enjoyed some of this author's other works but this collection, particularly the first two books, were a complete dud. The h's dad then paid for med school for the H and they had a contract that he couldn't contact her. Also, the h married her first husband after knowing him for 6 weeks bc she didn't trust men after the H left her with no explanation? I stopped reading at that point bc the writing wasn't good enough for the plot device. The second one was the worst though. The h and H were supposed to have inherited a company from the h's grandmother, but then the family still could somehow control it and take it away from them on the whim. Come on! They were owners but then they ran it and it was theirs but if the dad can just choose to take it back then it doesn't belong to you. If she had discussed minority and majority shareholders in the company maybe this would make sense or just say the parents or family still owned it but the grandmother chose the h to run it so the family respected that wish (and could therefore take it back). But no. Finally the third was the best of the three but I was expecting an unexpected pregnancy and she didn't get pregnant till the epilogue. Sex was fine but not distracting enough from the confusing plots. 1.7/5 overall. I stopped reading in the middle for the first and second books so I will not give it a sex-o-meter rating.

I am not sure how this is called "The Baby Surprise" yes there is a baby surprise but it happens in the last chapter, I'm not sure you can call a book that given that you need to read the entire book before the said "surprise" The plot and reviews of this book all sounded amazing so I jumped right in, and wow was I mislead with this book. There was a total disconnect with the characters, they were not consistent and their thoughts and actions were all over the place making the book hard to follow I am not sure how this is called "The Baby Surprise" yes there is a baby surprise but it happens in the last chapter, I'm not sure you can call a book that given that you need to read the entire book before the said "surprise" The plot and reviews of this book all sounded amazing so I jumped right in, and wow was I mislead with this book. There was a total disconnect with the characters, they were not consistent and their thoughts and actions were all over the place making the book hard to follow any read. For example: He is thinking how good it is with them and that he is never letting her go, then goes and doesn't contact her for a week and wonders why she is mad when he essentially treated her like a booty call. I will not be continuing the other stories in this collection. And she was ready to jump in bed with this guy after her walked out on her 10 years ago before getting any of her questions answered. She had no backbone. At. All. There was no connection with the Hero and Heroine. The book was drawn out and not at all a pleasant read. I wanted to DNF this book but decided to see it through due to all the amazing reviews. I kept hoping it would get better..... It didn't. Basically skip to the last 3 chapters of the book and read them only. Nothing at all happens in the the first 90% of the book.

This is a second chance romance. What happens when you throw away the best thing that has ever happened to you? Marjorie stood there, surrounded by the boxed-up remnants of her old life, and wondered what the hell had happened to bring her to this point. This was not the first man who had left her. First, Blake had broken her heart when she was a teenager. Now Robert, my soon to be ex-husband, left me for a younger woman. Blake is a fertility doctor who owns a successful clinic. Now he's married and I can't help but think about the girl I walked away from. Fate is a wonderful thing. It brought two people together and gave them their dreams. This is a great love story.

Cute stories with HEA's but needed a proof reader I really enjoyed these stories and probably would have given them 5 stars if I wasn't so distracted by so many errors. I don't think that these stories were edited or proof read but it was definitely needed. I'm also thinking that perhaps Ms. Faye is from another country or culture, accounting for the awkward sentence structures, run on sentences and improper use of synonyms at times. I liked the first story enough and was interested to see where the second one took me. I got to the end of the 2nd story and I just could not take the spelling and grammar errors anymore. I'm usually pretty forgiving if the story is good, but I must not have been in the right head space to turn a blind eye. It is really unfortunate because for some readers these errors really take away from the experience. The Baby Surprise: I loved this heartwarming story about a divorced woman who gets a second chance with her first love. Marjorie decides she wants a baby and is determined to do it on her own so she heads to a clinic where she runs into her first love Blake. These two go through quite a bit as they get reacquainted and past hurts are realized. The storyline is great, the characters are believable and the ending is perfect.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of The Baby Surprise Oh what a brilliant story. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. My heart went out to Marjorie, her childhood sweetheart Blake left her and her marriage to Robert was a disaster. Now Blake is back and the fun begins. What’s left for Marjorie...a baby. DNF I couldn’t make myself finish this book. The first story had me wanting to shake the main character. You are a recently divorced woman and desperate as hell. I just couldn’t continue. I’ve read way to many books lately where this seems to be the case. These women have no self respect. Can I please find a book where the female character isn’t a freaking doormat. I will try and read at a later date.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance, the storyline was the right balance between emotional and steamy. I liked how Marjorie and Blake got back together and finally confessed how he left without a word but did Marjorie ever talked to her Mom after getting back together with Blake, not a even a sentence if her ex who wants to get back contacted her again. Did they ever get married? No mention of that, too.

For me personally, this author’s style is predominantly “tell” not “show”. I didn’t like it. IMO, overboard one the internal dialogue for both characters which was often repetitive. The book is three stories by this author in one book, but I didn’t bother reading the following two stories after pushing myself through the first story.
