Bennet, the helicopter pilot, is one of the good guys that make up the search and rescue team and I was glad that he got his romance too. It was natural that Bennet and EIla clicked since they were besties back then. Ella got her best friend and the love that she deserves with a caring and thoughtful man. It was fate and I'm glad they had a lovely HEA. I enjoyed the book and so love the guys of Jade Mountain Search and Rescue! After her divorce and, since her cheating ex-husband didn’t want much visiting with their son, Ella moved back to Seattle with Ian. Ella was preparing the snack table for the students for later. Tiffany took the opportunity to criticize that the treats should be cut into triangles, not squares. Juice boxes should be lined in four columns, not three. And never use a paper tablecloth when plastic is available. Of course, she had not mentioned all of this to the new volunteer until this moment. Wit After her divorce and, since her cheating ex-husband didn’t want much visiting with their son, Ella moved back to Seattle with Ian. With no time left to “fix” the table, Ella lined the second-graders up for the helicopter visit by the Emerald Mountain Search & Rescue team, read the safety rules, and took them all outside. Ella is so fascinated with the incoming helicopter, that she doesn’t notice her skirt has flown up until the laughter starts. Two men jump out of the helicopter, followed by the pilot, and Ella can’t believe her eyes! In front of her is a grown up Bennet, her best friend in elementary school until her family moved. And he has grown into a devastatingly handsome man! The same look is on Bennet’s face as Callum, the crew chief, elbows him to start the presentation. Afterwards, he goes straight over to Ella and meets Ian. Bennet invites them to HQ to tour, sit in the helicopter, and meet their dog Atticus. When he promised Ian he would have a good time, both the boy and his mom looked hesitant. Someone had broken promises to them before. So he taught Ian the “pinky promise” and how that means you will never break a promise or let that person down. So the next day, they visited and Ian had a wonderful time. Bennet got Ella’s number and called later to ask her out to dinner. He had 20+ years to make up for, so he wanted to make it special. Ella was not expecting for them to drive to a helicopter! Half terrified and half fascinated, she let Bennet help her up into the cockpit. She has never seen Seattle like this, and it’s beautiful. And she feels the love for him inside of her. When they land, he takes along a basket, candles and a lantern for their moonlit picnic on Jade Mountain. When they finally kiss, Ella is filled with a comfort and trust she had not felt in a very long time. And when he told her he knew she had a difficult past and no reason to trust men, she could trust him always, and her heart melted even more. One of the guys at HQ asked Bennet if he is still looking for a puppy. Hikers found a stray and they hadn’t found an owner. They got the puppy his shots and he needs a home now. Bennet gladly took him and headed to the school where Ella was finishing a meeting. But on the way down the hall, Tiffany bumped into him. Her hands were all over him, despite his telling her he was meeting his girlfriend. Then he saw movement as Ella spun and ran away. He knew she must feel betrayed and he had to explain. He would not lose her ever again! Will he catch up to her? Will she let him tell her that there was no one else for him? This is such a good series, and I loved this one. Bennet is so good with children, even when he was one growing up with Ella! He could see what was needed to make the shy ones come out of their shell. He apparently never lost the touch! With both of them knowing how they feel, can he convince Ella that his pinky promise would not let him betray her? Grab your copy and see what the future holds for all of them.

It is a great addition to the series as it is charming, sweet, heartwarming, funny, romantic, swoon worthy and has some sexy fun under the stars. Ella has moved back to Washington state from Arizona after her ex-husband made it clear he just wanted to see their seven year old son every other Christmas and a couple of weeks during the summer. Plus there were bad memories there and she did not have a job as the dental practice she owned with the ex is no longer her's. As she had grown up in the Jade Mountain area when she was younger it felt like home so it was the best place to start over and rebuild a life for herself and for Ian. Bennet grew up in the Jade Mountain area and when he was young he wanted to be a superhero. In a sense what he wanted he got as he is the helicopter pilot for the JMSR team. A couple of weeks after moving back Ella is volunteering at Ian's class for the day. Today is a fun day as they are getting a special visit from the JMSR team and the class of second graders is buzzing. When everyone walks outside they see a helicopter land and some members of the team exit, including Bennet. Well both Ella and Bennet are surprised when they lock eyes as they were best friends when they were younger, actually from their first day of Kindergarten. They had been assigned mats next to each other for nap time with Ella being shy and quiet and Bennet being talkative and outgoing. For the determined little boy it took a week and a jar of Play-Doh to get her to talk to him but when she did they were the best of friends. They even shared their first kiss together. It seems that they have both grown up well and they each like what they are looking at. After the presentation Bennet talks with Ella for a few minutes and determines if she is single or not, along with being introduced to Ian. He recognizes the young boy is like Ella when they were younger and invites them both for a tour of the JMSR Headquarters the next day, Saturday. Ian first determines if there will be a dog there, as the team does have a search dog, and then is very excited to go. The next day the visit goes really well with Ian getting loved on by the dog and Bennet and Ella getting reacquainted. A couple days later he phones and instead of playing it cool, like he had planned out in his head, he blurts out asking if she would go to dinner with him, or a drink, or coffee, or anything. He is going to have to "bring it" for this dinner date and he definitely does in spades. But as we all know there are at least one set of bumps in the road to happiness but luckily they are a couple of very little ones and then a big slobbery kiss one which makes everyone smile. This is a lovely story that is well written and very enjoyable. It put a big smile on my face along with making me laugh in a few places.

Pinky promises This romance story is about Ella and Bennet. Ella is a single Mum to seven year-old Ian. They’ve recently moved back to her hometown near Seattle from Phoenix, once her ex-husband made his limited custody expectations clear. There was nothing left for them there. Ella is volunteering as a parent helper in her son’s class on a special incursion day, where they have a helicopter and their crew coming to visit at the school. The Emerald Mountain Search and Rescue Team As the helicopter lands, the pilot exits and takes off his helmet. Ella immediately recognises him as Bennet, her best friend from elementary school. He was the first boy she kissed behind a tree and the boy she cried over after her family moved and had to switch schools, seemingly to never see him again. Until now… They haven’t seen each other for 20 years, but quickly fall into conversation. Ella introduces Ian and Bennet to each other, and Bennet invites them to a tour of their HQ, with the added bonus of seeing one of their rescue dogs. He also pinky-promises Ian that he will have a good time – and that’s a big deal for them. Bennet calls her and asks her out, and she accepts. He takes her on a helicopter ride and then a picnic on the mountain. It’s the perfect first date! As a breeze bows a leaf onto her, he goes to move it out of the way and she sweetly kisses his hand. This turns into a not-so-sweet, but very hot and heavy passionate kiss and more, under the starlight on their mountain. Ella finds him tender, sweet and intoxicating. It’s not at-all awkward, but there’s comfort and trust and a real sense of oneness. Bennet goes to the school to surprise her one afternoon and he’s ambushed by Tiffany and Ella mistakes the interaction for something more. She’s understandably upset and Bennet tries to chase after her to explain what was really happening. But Ella might not be willing to listen to any explanations or excuses after what happened with her cheating husband! Will they get the happily-ever-after they deserve? Bennet is the fifth story in Kate Tilney’s Jade Mountain Search & Rescue series and is a heartfelt and wonderfully feel good tale of second chance love and the effects a positive role model has on a young boy’s life. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. This is the 5th book in the Jade Mountain Search and Rescue series, it can be read as a standalone story, no cliffhangers, no cheating. Ella returns to the town where she grew up, met her best friend and had her first kiss. Bennet is floored when he sees Ella for the first time in years, she captured his heart when they were young and now she still owns it. Bennet and Ella's relationship is quick but years in the making, both are wonderful characters. I I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. These are all very quick, cute, insta-love stories. I am not rating them higher as there some editing issues. In this book ahe called it Emerald mountain rescue and the next sentence Jade mountain rescue. Emerald is the helicopter. In Griffin, the nurses said his eyes were hazel, then when June saw him she said they were brown and then they were described as blue. Otherwise all of the stories are cute with a heat level of 🔥🔥.

Childhood friends Bennet and Ella meet again after 20 years for another OTT short insta-love story. Her son Ian has a role as do his crew at the Search and Rescue and the witch of the PTO. Of course there is a HEA by the end. This is a very quick, light read that can be read if you just want to unwind and not have to concentrate on a more involved story.
