I enjoyed this but it definitely felt like a lot of filler. And all the dancing around the Shadow Court is getting a bit much. Sara is also now very much in Mary Sue territory *sigh* I hope that the next one is better and has a bit more plot and story stuff as opposed to all the bits in between.

Sara starts out by going to a fest with Eshe in Pompeii, Italy. What should have been a fairly easy op turned into one of the craziest developments of Sara's career on the Council. Is it possible there are some ancient members of the Council still around? Are the Connected in danger from the regulars, and is there anything Sara can do about it? What should have been a fairly easy op turned into one of the craziest developments of Sara's career on the Council. Is it possible there are some ancient members of the Council still around? Are the Connected in danger from the regulars, and is there anything Sara can do about it? She's, once again, being overwhelmed by requests in her role as Justice, and craziness is blossoming everywhere she turns. The Shadow Court is out in 'full-court press' once again, with Jarvis Fuggerson front and center...except, is he? With all this going on, like crazy creatures that look like pterodactyl who attack in force; The Shadow Court upsetting the apple cart once again; Sara having way too much to do while still trying to figure out how to help Armaeus get his memory back and also wondering if maybe he shouldn't get it back; Eshe playing a role after so long, and, of course, the Council taking a back seat, unwilling to help, Sara is a bit at a loss as to how to handle all this. And, as if that weren't enough, an old legend about a possible old Council member, definitely an inactive member of the Connected community who's methods go against everything Sara believes, shows up as a possibility. But no one has had to worry about this one since it's all legend, this Night Witch seems to have popped up again. Is this something Sara can get on board with? Something she'd be willing to compromise her values to embrace? And, just who is this Night Witch? Wilde Justice shows that Jenn still has so much more going on in her head where Sara and the Arcana Council are concerned, (and, dare I mention, The Syx Demon Enforcers as well?) and it all keeps tying together so beautifully, book by book, that whenever I leave off with one book I'm already on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one! We have so many old faves showing up in this one, plus new characters as well. So much more to keep me involved to the hilt. Sara has become a character who's life is one I want to follow to the end...except I'm terrified I'll be finished before she will! Much as I never want the series to be over, hopefully, it will be completed the day before I am. That way I can see it through to the very end without missing a beat, and have the last book on Sara to take with me! Once again, as is always the case, Excellently Done, Jenn Stark! Excellently done, indeed! Keep them coming, cause I'll never get enough!

“The Night Witch” is the sixth installment in the “Wilde Justice” Series, a directly follow up of the Immortal Vegas Series featuring Sara Wild as a magical-artifacts hunter turned Arcana Council Member. I refuse to give out any so teeny tiny bit of the story (you can always refer to the blurb 😊)… I would not dream to rob you of any entertainment, each page is so full of action, surprise, humor, everything 😉 as Sara keeps on learning about the intrinsicalities of the Council and her own office. While in pursue of information to fight the resurfaced Shadow Court, she will come back to her roots as an artifact hunter and uncovered some cards in the process. From Greece, through Vegas to the Arabic Peninsula a trip worth taken just to see Sara in action, and – of course – Nikki, Amadeus, Kreios, and the rest of the council, as well as some unexpected cameos along the way. Jenn Stark possesses a rare gift for storytelling that turns every story into a reader’s delight. Her writing style is unique, a mixture of hardcore adventure and whimsicality, that makes the book simultaneously light and surprisingly deep, with characters that show very real-life qualities in seemingly fantasy situations, a impeccable delivery, action-packed, fast-paced and still with a carefully character description and a rich rendered UF verse. I keep repeating myself - and I will keep on until some “power that be” hears me!- and rightly so: Jenn Stark’s “Immortal Vegas/Sara Wilde”-Verse is the best urban fantasy out there… This verse deserves its own TV-Show, seriously!!!!! For the reader every book is both a blessing and a curse…. because we are blessed with Jenn Stark’s talent and we are also cursed to keep asking for more… very well-done Ms. Stark, please keep on blessing us… we’ll deal with the curse all by ourselves 😉

This series is like a fun chess game with death. The shadow court is making their move and Sara counters with her queen, Danae from the house of Swords and her knight, Nikki. I enjoyed seeing the Demon Enforcers and enjoyed delving into Eshe's character more. There is still the romance between Sara and Armaeus but I'm still so very heart sore since he lost his memories. Not only in regards to figuring out the Shadow Court’s nefarious plans, but also in that she’s been receiving and inordinately amount of requests for aid from various corners of the Connected community. She can’t seem to make any headway on the piling up cases. When one of her nearest and dearest is targeted by the Shadow Court—which is pretty much an attack on Sara herself—Sara is enraged when the Council decides to take the road of passivity. But acting out on her own, without the Council backing her up, is not how Sara normally operates. Then she begins to hear the rumblings of The Night Witch—a vigilante who goes where, and does what, Justice cannot—under the cloak of darkness. Can Sara cross that line and put aside her convictions if it means saving lives? When a new, mysterious ally emerges, Sara sees a great opportunity, but their price for help might lead to more trouble than its worth. The Night Witch started out for me a little precariously. I feel like this series has a tendency to play the long game. Meaning that readers don’t always get the answers within the pages of one book. Sometimes things can stretch across multiple books and oftentimes that makes me feel like I’m just standing in one place, so to speak, while the book slowly progresses around me. That’s how it felt when I first started this book. The Shadow Court has been a thorn in the side of this series for a couple of books now, and we started in pretty much the same place we left, not knowing much more of anything about them. Then Jenn Stark just completely turns things around, and The Night Witch ended up having some of the most compelling revelations and climactic scenes of the series thus far. Of course talking too much about this would spoil a lot about the book unfortunately. Suffice it to say, when I finished reading and even now as I write this, I have to marvel at the way that Jenn Stark incorporates the metaphorical (or is it?) idea of the Night Witch with Sara’s own inner struggle with the authority of the Council and her role as Justice. For me, this was a very unassuming aspect of the story, but it’s one that has left the biggest impression on me since finishing. It’s an aspect that I am greatly looking forward to continuing to explore in future books. Jenn Stark has been writing the Sara Wilde world for sixteen (!) books now and this is not even including the spin-off Demon Enforcers series (of which there will be a total of six). To continuously add this level of depth, and keep it plausible, is a feat. I enjoyed the surprises, I loved that the above mentioned Demon Enforcers make a significant appearance, and I enjoyed seeing Sara interacting with Councilmembers outside of her normal group (such as Judgement and the High Priestess). There are interesting setups in The Night Witch, I cannot wait to see how they continue to play out.

I've been a Sara Wilde fan since the Immortal Vegas series - any book starring this character is an auto purchase for me because she never disappoints. The story builds on previous Wilde Justice novels, continuing to unravel the mystery of the Shadow Court and their nefarious plans. The story takes place in a number of exotic locations, as we've come to expect (no spoilers, but, as usual, the locations are AWESOME), which I love, just as I love the chemistry between the characters. The usual favourites are all here - Nikki (who doesn't adore Nikki?), Simon, Aleksander - and some less well-known members of the Council take on more prominent roles too. And, of course, Armaeus... there is definitely chemistry between Sara and Armaeus! I enjoy the magic system in this world and Sara's use of the Tarot, but I particularly love how she doesn't rely on her growing powers to get her out of tricky situations. She's strong, intelligent and independent - with a heck of a group of friends who always have her back. But for all Sara's bad-*ssery, there's a vulnerability to her character that makes her endearing. She's the kind of person you wish you were friends with. I think that's why I keep coming back to her, book after book, and now series after series. For all her faults (and she has a few), you can't help rooting for her. I received an advance reader copy from the publisher, but views are entirely my own.

There is a lot going on in this book, not only the action of Sara trying to find clues to who and what the Shadow Court is, but also with what is going on with other characters and how their decisions will impact Sara and her journey. I can’t get enough of these books as a reader, and I am always eagerly waiting for the next one to come out. Another great emotionally charged, adventurous book which will leave you with some extra loose ends for the next book but I’m sure we can wait…..hopefully. 😊 ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊 More of my reviews can be found on my blog:http://thehotmesslibrary.blogspot.com

I have completely enjoyed Sara's evolution as she grows into being Justice Wilde. Yes Sarah will be tried and tested and how she responds/reacts will be paramount. Sariah resurfaces and her part in Sarah's testing and stretching could play a major role especially since the shadows know just how important she is to Sarah. I really hope this means we will see more of her in the upcoming books. Don't think Armeaus isn't still part of the picture. With his memories of what he should know and don't know still an issue or challenge he is always an added bonus both to her and the story and their story is always a nice addition. All in all Justice Wilde is still bringing lots of action, questions, growth, death and of course justice as she paves the way into your heart. She's through playing nice and with Sariah, The Magician, The Devil and the mounting support she is receiving from those in the wings, things with the shadow dorks are heating up and war is closer than ever.

Okay so I loved this book. My favourite parts were the reappearance of some characters we haven't got to catch up with for a while. It was like catching up with old friends. I absolutely love getting hold of my next Sara Wilde book. It feels like meeting up with old friends again. This book contains all of her previous characters woven into the story. I love the way that different characters come to the fore with each story, yet all intermingle, with roughly the same goal in mind. If you're looking for a new series of novels, some characters to grow fond of, and a new writer to sample, give Jenn Stark a try. You won't be disappointed, that I can promise!

Jenn Stark writes witty, smart books! Her books are full of adventure, magic, heart, and humor. Each book in the Wilde Justice series keeps getting better and better. There was a special moment with Kreios where he said, "Anything I can do to help her express the beauty deep in her soul that has been yearning to shine right along with her true identity since she was very young, it's my honor and privilege to do." WOW! We should all treat each other with more kindness. I can't wait until the next Jenn Stark writes witty, smart books! Her books are full of adventure, magic, heart, and humor. I have loved Sarah Wilde from the beginning. I have loved being with her through her growth in her magic, and her growth as a person. This book was no exception. The addition of new characters, as well as the reappearance of old favorite friends, made me so happy. The plot was amazing, and took some very unexpected turns. I always love the humor and wit that accompanies some of the characters. The action was also great. This is the 6th book in the Wilde Justice series. This book is so full of twist and turns and great revenges. Justice Wilde is faced with a decision to make which could turn her to a totally different path. We are given more glimpses of our favorite characters: Danae the house of Swords leader, Armaeus the Magician (with a sexy scene), Nikki the best friend and side kick as well as the Syx. I really enjoyed this book and read it so fast that I was sad when I was done. I can't wait for the next book....so exciting.

There is a reason Jenn Stark is my favorite author for Urban fantasy. She is an amazing storyteller, she has colorful characters, and I love how she brings in a new exotic setting with each installment. Is her style of justice too lenient? Does she need to be more of a vigilante herself? Whatever will Sarah decide as she faces off against this enemy of the Connected?

4 1/2 stars Another excellent addition to the adventures of Sara Wilde. Her evolution from Immortal Vegas to Wilde Justice has been fascinating and it's still going! These books have you careening from one place to the next, but always leaves me asking when the next book is coming out just as you finish the last word? After some very traumatic events has her questioning what she is willing to do to protect her community, I look forward to seeing what's next. Will these events change her approach or will she be able to stay true to who she always thought she was? How can she deal with all the surprises that the Magician seems to be throwing at her, again and again? Nice to see the Demon Enforcers and all our favs again, and the introduction of some interesting new characters. Love the Sariah storyline and can't wait to see where that goes! The mark of a good book is to leave you wanting more but not frustrating you to the point of uughhhh, and Jenn Stark always delivers with great writing and a tight, exciting plot.

Lotsa action right off the bat and it just wouldn't stop! Loved the beauty contest scene and everything with Ms. Dawes always rocks. I'm enjoying the direction the story is going and it is always a surprise with the twists Ms. Stark throws in. I liked learning about the Djinn and knew that the Sun was going to be a good guy. Although, I was kinda hoping that The Queen of Sheba was going to show too. Greatly enjoyed the interactions with the Syx and having them show up. As always, its always such a pleasure to read her prose. Each culture and belief she adds, each renown person of history she adds is such a delight to read about, it is clear she takes the time to research each of them so that she can make us like those culture and still keep her world smooth and logical. I usually get bored of long series, but each of her book bring something fresh to keep our attention. Ms. Stark does not disappoint in this 6th addition to the series and leads you wondering what next could she conjure up! Sara has come a long way from an artifact hunter to an Arcana Council member. She's put to the test as she discovers new information about the Council members. We see in this book Sara's struggle with her duties of being Justice as well as wanting to protect the Connected while dealing with the politics of the Council. This addition to the series is full of surprises and it's absolutely brilliant. There are some unexpected new characters to get to know and a fundamental shift which seems like it will have long reaching repercussions for the Connected community. The Shadow Court storyline is picking up pace & I'm hoping for some really juicy developments in the next installment. Love this series - cannot wait for more! Justice Wilde has returned to her roots of treasure hunting ... but is it really??? This book was fast paced and consuming. Sara is faced with Arcana Council politics & restrictions while being pulled to meet out her duties for Justice. I was thrilled to see Judgement Gamon make an appearance and see more of her history. Gamon always seemed like a badass and a bad guy. We learn a bit more of her history and what has made her who she is. Like the previous books, this latest installment is fast-paced, full of action and humor. Sara's adventures take you across the world from Vegas to Arabia in no time and provide occasion to meet most of the favorite characters from this series. Throughout the book, I could share Sara's frustration that the bad guys aka Shadow Court manage to duck away again and again. Still one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series out there after all those years, recommended. Like the previous books, this latest installment is fast-paced, full of action and humor.
