Although shadowing reality through fictional events, this isnt a grand thriller as one might expect. Often times in real life, complex geopolitical situations get diffused in innovative, non provocative ways and the storyline aptly depicts one. It additionally projects the propensities of a secretive and aggresive regime that gleaned technical knowhow through guile. There is infusion of a bit of tech details; probably not so much as to put off a casual reader (who can choose to skim through and get on with the story itself) but enough to give those interested (like me) a bit of juice. l enjoyed the para or two, contextually strewn here and there, explaining a little about all the tech involved; from how the S400 air defense system mitigates the degraded precision of stealth aircraft detecting lower frequency radars, to the steep descent of the non-linear discharge curves of a cheaper but inefficient alkaline battery. And just so the uninterested dont yawn and pursue other enterprise, the english version, many a times, precedes this mild tech talk, which, ergo, can be skipped! A good read!

Like the previous reviewer said, this is technical. A lot of details went over my head. The story itself is a good read. I gifted this to a vet after I finished reading. Thank you for sending me this as part of the goodreads giveaway! It was a signed copy :)

What If? This was a good, but very technical story. As a vet myself I’ve fretted many times thinking about the Chinese stealing so much of America’s technology, it’s only a matter of time before they turn it on the USA.
