For me, the writing is juvenile and the character's inner thoughts are repetitive throughout each story. TIn one story the reader even gets a sentence in what a horse thought! I also felt that the author was introducing contemporary standards to the stories when each woman was expected to seek employment of one kind of another even though they seemed very contrived.

2 star The basic story lines are relatively typical of genre but the presentation is below reasonable expectation. As well as needing more work on basic proofreading and elements of craft, all volumes struggle with inconsistency. The characters decide something, ignore it, then decide it again. Contradictions abound. I spent a chunk of the second book waiting for woman to be caught out in lie on her fake name only to finally realize the author just up and changed it instead. Also seems to make little attempt at historical accuracy--stressing repeatedly it was only a black and white photo, assuming women should work and care for the home as the norm, etc. You drive wagons, not "lead" the horses from the seat.

Fantastic I love western mail order bride stories but a box set of continuing the saga, that takes it to the next level. Four wonderful stories featuring strong women, ill prepared for western life but buckled down to reach their full potential. Don't miss a second of the grand adventures. Interesting Amelia Rose weaves plots that are very familiar to me in the 21st century, but tucks them into another time very nearly. I have to say that the stories desperately need edoting

Good story, needs editing I enjoyed the stories but they all need to be edited. There are incorrect pronouns in several places. There are places where the wrong word is used and I had to go back and re read the sentence to figure out what was being said.

I loved reading the stories of the four mail order brides. Amelia Rose was an unknown author to me, but her writing is great. I could picture the setting, and the people of the story. Loved Lucy, Fiona, Martha, and Emily.

An enjoyable series of mail order brides travelling to Montana in hope of a freer lifestyle. A range of stories with colorful characters and some hair raising adventures that challenge the women venturing alone to the Wild West. Thanks Amelia Rose for a pleasurable read.
