He is a cowboy on the Chestnut Ranch and she is the youngest of the Adams siblings. They have been in a secret relationship for the past couple of months sneaking around to spend time together but not being seen in public with each other. Well that come to a head one when he had enough and decided to end things, maybe deep down hoping that she would come to the realization that she wanted to be with him. So things did not quite go that way and even though several months have passed he is still thinking about her and his feelings have not gone away. What Brian did not know was that Seren had wanted to keep things a secret because of a promise she had made to her older sister. It seems that Sorrell had once been involved with a cowboy but instead of riding off into the sunset together he dumped her faster than a bucking bull and had really made her hate cowboys. So it was not that Seren did not like/love Brian it was that the promise to her sister was there and Sorrell still did not like or trust cowboys. So the real issue is whether Seren can be an adult and put her own feelings for Brian ahead of the promise she had made to Sorrell years ago. But will Brian still be there for her if she does? I thought this was a good book but did have some frustrating moments while reading it. Having not read all of the previous books in this series I was a bit lost at times. Plus the use of very similar names for the three Adams' sisters was confusing and I almost had to make a chart to keep everyone straight. But the story-line had moments where it was sweet, fun and entertaining when I did not want to tell Seren to "snap out of it and make your own decisions". I felt for Brian as he was such a sweet, loving and loyal man who had fallen for Seren but was confused and hurt by her not wanting to let others know that they were together.

I started reading this book, and it honestly took me a while to sort out the sisters. Sarena, Seren, Sorrell, and then throw a Serenity in to add to the confusion. One hurdle cleared. This book was ok. Just ok. I didn't like Seren or Sorrell. What was it about these sisters that was so broken they seemed completely unable to function in a relationship? I didn't understand. I felt like I was missing some vital element of the book that would explain this to me. I read romance to relax and escape. I felt like I was missing some vital element of the book that would explain this to me. I read romance to relax and escape. Maybe it was just me, but the level of dysfunction these sisters shared was just depressing. Not much about this book made me feel good, made me smile, or made me happy. There were moments (and I mean 2-3 max) when Brian and Seren were together where I could see the potential for a sweet uplifting romance. Then those moments would fall flat on their face. Even when they finally reached their HEA, I found no joy or happiness in it. I only felt like Brian should run away as fast as he could. Brian got more love, support, and emotion from queen than from Seren. Brian and Seren's relationship felt like it had disaster written all over it. I kept waiting for the next shoe to drop, but the book ended. I won't even bother to mention poor Theo. While we are here, what is wrong with these desperate men who want to be in love so badly that they keeping going after the princesses of dysfunction? Why do they keep doing that to themselves? I couldn't bring myself to go with 2 stars. The writing wasn't terrible. The story just evoked such feelings of sadness, hopelessness, frustration, irritation, and depression. Seren and Sorrell seemed to have some type of co-dependent relationship that was not healthy. I think because the book made me feel some type of way instead of nothing at all, I will go with 2.5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.

Brian Gray is a cowboy who has been “sneaking off” with Serendipity Adams for a couple of months because she wants to keep their dating a secret. Holding her hand is nice, but he wants to make their relationship public and to move forward. He doesn’t need the secrecy anymore. So he breaks up with her. Serendipity didn’t tell him that she had made a promise to her middle sister who had some heartbreak with cowboys that she would never date one. But she wants Brian back. How can she keep her promise and still have a relationship with the man she misses in her life? I think there is a ton of frustration in this story with various causes. It wasn’t a comfortable book to read, certainly didn’t feel loving, and even the sisters’ names sounding too much alike had me momentarily confused. Serendipity’s reason to hide her relationship was nonsense. I’m just surprised that Brian didn’t drop her completely and permanently, which would have been the most logical step. As I’ve mentioned before in reviews, when the reader doesn’t develop rapport or like the characters right from the start or soon thereafter, by the time the story line moves us to the start where they change, we may no longer care.

All of the things this pair are dealing with, both individually and as a couple, just about broke my heart. I wanted to see these two get their happily ever after. I’m sure part of it was the way Seren’s suppressing her emotions, but I didn’t really feel much passion from the pair or connection between them. Their happy ending felt like it came too easily. I didn’t see the emotional growth in Seren I thought was necessary, and I didn’t like that it was always Brian who was shown doing the “work” in their relationship. I’m anxious to get my hands on the next book though. I’m desperate to find out how that pairing turns out. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.

Seren can't be with Brian openly. She's afraid to talk to Sorrell about their promise - to not fall for a cowboy - and she feels like she doesn't know how to be a good girlfriend. Brian sends her a text at Sarena and Darren's vow renewal, and they agree to meet and start seeing each other again. But she still needs to be secretive. Seren and Brian Sweet story of a young woman who feels led to be there for her sisters, and has trouble opening her heart to Brian as she's been hurt before. I understand her humiliation at what the former boyfriend did, but seriously it shouldn't have affected her ability to be with someone who obviously cared about her this many years later. Plus, she had made a silly agreement with one of her sisters to never give her heart to a cowboy. Serendipity, Seren, went out with Brian six months ago, but kept it a secret from everyone, because of a promise to her sister, Sorrell. At Sarena's vow renewal Brian sent a text and they met up again. Things begin ok but then Seren has self doubts and her sister, Sorrell, falls apart and she's supporting her. Will they get back together? Will she ever put Brian first? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Another good read in the series from Emmy. I enjoyed this next book in the saga. We got to see more of most of the characters and especially the sisters. There was a theme of commitment and priorities. I enjoyed the characters and I’m super pumped for the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

While I like the story over all I find it very difficult to warm to these sisters. There is a great deal of baggage and drama involved and it's hard to believe that a good man would stick around . Toward the end of this book the woman seem to be more likeable. Don't give up on the book it is worth a complete read. While I like the story over all I find it very difficult to warm to these sisters. Great book Another good story about one of the Adams sisters. Seren is the strong one of the sisters. She rarely lets her emotions show. Can she have a relationship with someone. See if meeting Brian can change Seren.

Good book This is a good book. Not as good as others in the series. This is about Serendipity and Brian. Brian is a helper at Chestnut and come over to Fox Hollow to help is friend move in the previous book. When he seen Serendipity he just knew there was something there but she put him off for a long time. How long will it be and will he get his happy ending. Who knows cause it never says in the book so on to the next one to see what I can find out.

Doubts, they overshadow everything! So we saw the first break down of this relationship in book 6 and honestly Brian was right at that point....but in this book we see just how needy and insecure they both are, it doesn't stop you liking them but it can be a little frustrating and repetitive.
