A second chance to make up for the mistakes of the past. A second chance at love. Troy: I’ve settled in at Fort Dale with a great job at the clinic on base and I’ve even made a few friends. Oscar Reyes, the man I fell in love with six years ago and who walked out on me because he couldn’t handle the thought of being out. I never thought I’d see him again, and now he’s here, tossing everything I thought I knew on its head. Oscar: There aren’t many things in life that throw me off. Despite a bit of a temper, I deal with things quite well. The IED that took my arm, and left me with a permanent limp was hard, but after six months, I’m managing. Well, I was. Until I ran into Troy again. Just seeing him was enough to realize six years wasn’t long enough to kill my feelings. When I walked away, it seemed right at the time and my reasons haven’t changed. This time I’m determined to stand by that decision. Until I went and kissed him. Oscar and Troy would have sworn six years was enough to make them forget. It wasn’t. Definitely my favourite one yet, I absolutely adore a good second chances romance and this had all the right ingredients. Troy was a sweetheart and Oscar's fears about being out felt completely believable to ne, especially for how he was terrified of his brother's reaction. Lots of angsty hurt/comfort and good grovelling made this a hit. Definitely my favourite one yet, I absolutely adore a good second chances romance and this had all the right ingredients. So far, this series has been very satisfying. Each book is not very long but gets their point across well. It’s not often that you get a second chance at love. But with the amount of history that Troy and Oscar have between each other - the second chance might not be enough. He knew when he first dated Troy that they were in different stages of their sexuality - Troy being out and proud, Oscar keeping his a secret. They do no split on the best of terms, so flash forward six years, and when they meet again it still feels like the breakup just happened. I really do enjoy second chance love stories and this one was a great one. Neither one of the men were ready to let the other go, but they both understood the hurt and pain that was caused six years ago. I thought this story was written very well, and it seemed realistic - the lengths they had to go through to rebuild trust, and see if they could even move forward. I also think the author did a great job in balancing the emotional and the physical connection between the two men. There reunion wasn’t all about the physical aspect - but there are some quite steamy moments between the two men so you’ll have that to lighten the mood. This books wasn’t a very long read - so it would be a great afternoon read, if you’re looking for a quick second chance romance. *4.5 stars - I received an Advance Reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another good one in the series, and this one focuses on second chance love, which I admit I don't really fancy much, because most of them doles out way too much drama that I sometimes cannot stand. Sure, this one has drama, but I will say that it is just enough to carry the story along without making it tedious. The push and pull, the flashbacks, it was enough and it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the story. The push and pull, the flashbacks, it was enough and it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the story. This one was about Troy, whom me met in the earlier two books, and his first and only true love from six years back, Oscar. Troy was fun, easy-going and quite nosy as we had seen before, but we can see the vulnerable side to him in this. His penchant for rotating bedfellows and his snark masked the pain of being walked out on six years ago by Oscar and the pain was raw and real. As for Oscar, who has always been too afraid of being outed as gay and seen as an oddity or worst, a freak, it was the fear of losing his only family his brother that drove him to finally break it off with Troy, thereby breaking both their hearts. Although unfathomable to some why he had to hide his sexuality, we can all appreciate the insight to his past and his life to at least have a sense of understanding why. The magnetism, and push and pull of both Oscar and Troy played out quite nicely by the writing, and the pacing was unhurried and switched between their individual perspectives and flashbacks nicely and quite smoothly. I liked that they were given ample time to work things out, and not simply falling into bed way before any resolution of any sort was worked out. It helped to give enough tension and hook to the story to kept me reading on. An amusing thing to note though, was that both he and Dean ended up with grumpy men which seemed oddly coincidental, but not altogether unsual.

Troy is the one that got away, mainly because Oscar was too stupid to realize what he had. When he left Troy it was on unpleasant terms and of course the medic that is going to give him his clearance physical is going to be the guy that never left his heart. The two still feel the chemistry but no way is Oscar going to act on any impulses. He refuses to consider the options of being out. He fears being true to himself will come with too big a price tag. The best intentions are often forgotten In the heat of the moment and despite his concerns the pull towards Troy is too strong. Troy really cares about Oscar but how can he chance having his heart shattered again? The two danced around their feelings until they had to confront reality. Soon the easy comfort in being with Troy is the balm for Oscar's battered life. Troy is a free spirit and can he manage to keep the relationship between them? I highly recommend this pulsating romance that was wonderfully portrayed with two equally stubborn but perfect for each other men. Happy Reading! Audio: Narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo Mr Ferraiuolo kept a nice easy pace and his narration flowed smoothly. He effortlessly changed his tone for each character and it was easy to tell who was speaking. He added the perfect amount of emotion onto the more touching scenes. I absolutely recommend this wonderful audio version and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Happy Listening!

Troy was left heartbroken and determined to just have a good time with guys after that; no more relationships for him. When Oscar comes back into Troy’s life it really shakes things up and soon, they are back at it again – but still in secret. This story has a few tense moments when Oscar’s temper gets the better of him (not with Troy) but I can’t say more without spoilers. Second chance stories are a favorite trope for me and I really loved that these two guys finally were able to sort out their problems and be together. I’ve really liked how the books in this series are connected but can be read as standalone stories. I actually didn’t realize at first that some of the stories take place at least a bit concurrently with each other. I’ll be moving on to the next book now.

Oscar needs someone like Troy in his life, and vice versa. Michael Ferraiuolo is a talented narrator. I love the voices he gave Oscar and Troy. He did a great job voicing the side characters as well, and did a great job differentiating between everyone.

We met Troy in book one and he was a pain in the neck for Dean! That's not how he really is. He put on this brave, smirky attitude to hide his pain. He and Oscar had the perfect romance, or so he thought and then it was gone. Just like that! Oscar couldn't face his feeling about being deployed so he ran. Now, they're back at the same post, Fort Dale, and it's not easy to stay away. Oscar doesn't want a relationship but can't seem to stay away from Troy. Troy just wants him to make up his mind. Audiobook version. I'm was a bit disappointed by Troy before the end. I knew it had been 6 years but with the way Oscar had left him ? I still would have understand more anger and still think Oscar would have been the one who had to try but, hey, it's their life and their relationship. Oscar was just a very lucky bastard to have Troy willing to fight for them !

What a heartfelt story that just scuked me in and got me hooked. OMG I really like these two. It felt really emotional and sensitive to see Oscar struggle with his sexuality. And if honest he never got over losing Troy. How he could say losing when it was Oscar himself that walked away. Troy felt destroyed after losing Oscar, he saw a future for them both but he wasn't ready to come out of that closet and let people know who he was. 6 years later Oscar finds himself getting ready to work at Fort Dale. He had survived standing on a IED that took my arm, and left him with a permanent limp but he was alive a little grumpy but he was coping. He was glad to move out of his brothers house and get back on a military base but he was unsure on the job. When he was told he had to go to the clinic and have a full health check before he could begin work. What he wasn't expecting to see what Troy. And he had to let him give him a health check. Oscar couldnt get out of there fast enough. Troy was shocked to see Oscar in front of him He didnt even notice his arm for a few minutes. It didnt take away from any of his sexiness. The feels came rushing back But what would happen now they are both on the same base??? Has Oscar come out of the closet or is he still hiding himself??? Can there me a future for them??? OMG this is just a heart breaking story of finding who you are and excepting who you are. My heart really went out to Oscar, and Troy is one amazing man who gives the best support. And I really love the banter between Troy and Dean, Oscar and his brother and of course Oscar and Troy!! It was just such an enjoyable book to read. My heart was in my mouth for Oscar to be strong enough to be himself stop hiding. But I do wish we got to meet his sister in law for the biggest show down for both Oscar and Troy that could of been really fun to read!!!! bring on the next book this series is brilliant A Fantastic read!! The early part of the story was a little "meh" for me. I felt like it was a bit draggy and was irritated by Oscar's indecisiveness. But then the later part got so much better and made me love the characters. Troy is an amazing and supportive character. He is timid and scared of getting rejected but courageous in grasping Oscar. Oscar was an annoying grunt but romantic in so many ways. The early part of the story was a little "meh" for me. I felt like it was a bit draggy and was irritated by Oscar's indecisiveness. Low Angst Second Chance dual point of view Best if 1 in series is read first. Oscar has landed in a long term position finally and is hoping for quiet and the ability to heal. He is not expecting to run into the only man he’s ever loved and left for fear of revealing that he’s gay. They were very sweet. Really liked how funny Troy was.

It's just cool to see how each of these characters interact with each other. I liked the slow pace of this novel, we really didn't see a lot of romantic contact between Troy and Oscar until about 60% of the way through. I don't think this takes away from the story, I think it adds more value to it. You can see how much time the author has taken to mold the relationship between these characters; espeically given they've already tried once and failed. It shows that they may want to try again but they need time to think and work out if this is right for both of them. I really liked this aspect. Also, I have to say I find Gabriel to be hilarious. I love his character! He's a great addition to an already stellar group of men. Hopefully soon we can see some more of Marco, Christian, and the General I would love to read all of their stories.
