Big nope for me I dislike it when an author changes style from 1 book to the next in a series. Book 1 was great. Book 2 is annoying. There are so many puns and pop culture references its impossible to enjoy. I made it to 60%. But at this point every encounter is a stupid pun. The summons make puns. Everything is a modern day reference. At this point I expect him to wake up as 16 year old kid who was in a coma and this was all a stupid dream.

For some odd reason (puritans in the reviews) the author removed explicit sex scenes and decided to replace them with tons and tons of additional, annoying as fuck, 80s/90s/00s references (especially the gods damned genie in the end). Stats, skill levels, or general levels mean pretty much nothing. The MC doesn't seem any stronger in this book than he did in the beginning of the previous one other than being able to summon more things. In fact, in the previous one, he seemed more competent. Here, he just stands back most of the time and acts like a noob when he didn't do that in the first one. I still enjoyed the planned building parts of the book and liked that the natives of the main quest world weren't 'noble savages' like most other authors portray primitive people. They were just normal primitive people. Other than that, I'll check out the next book just to see if the author continues in this direction or corrects course.

Surprisingly funny Endless pop culture references and catch phrases can get a little tedious. Simon Archer doubles down on them here in Let There Be Life, to the point of parody. That is a trait I've notices in several of his books. He has the ability to feed you what your getting sick of and make it taste fresh again. Way better then I thought I know that's a backhanded compliment but to be fair the first book opened with a sex scene. That usually means the rest of the hook will be weak but no so in this case. Character development is good aside from the main character he is most unchanged so far. My favor thing about the series so far is the overall flippant tone of Garrett. Also the random bits of humor and of course all of the nerd references. More great stuff. Minor gripes: (view spoiler)[Pregnancy thing: I don't mind him getting the princesses pregnant or choosing not to, they just bring it up, say it doesn't work, and say we will look into it, then drop it. Fantastically done! For the second book in this series it is truly done well. The story flows at a great rate, no real filler chapters. I love how there is plenty in the book to grab and keep your attention, and yet no parts that made me want to take a short break before soldiering through to the 'good' parts. In my opinion the entire book was the good part. Cannot wait for the next book. If you havent read the first book I highly recommend this series. Extremely unique world. A good read, although not as good as the first… In this most recent episode our main character is taken to a brand new world. He brings along his lovable crew. I meet up with some new peoples… Although a great read, it kind of tries too hard with the humor. The pop culture references are a little extreme… It goes far away from the sexy rump of the first mobile… And what is left and explained…

Endless funds This is a great story, forger of world's is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. It's not easy building h a galaxy to defeat the ultimate evil and you clearly need deep pockets. The creative and inventive characters really make this book a joy to read. solid continuation of previous story. This definitely develops more of the LitRPG elements and even touches on dungeon-style adventuring. Archer dropped the more explicit material from the previous book and, to be honest, this one was the better for it. Intriguing story - I hope he continues to write the series.

Good second read I loked because it followed the storyline of the first book fairly well. The personalities are being decently developed. There were a couple of places where it felt like the author had to make choices for the main character to convenient to keep the story on track. I have recommended this book to my friends.

Book two is as good as the first. I love this series and cant wait for more. God like terraforming interspersed with traditional adventure stories all brought together with scheming deities. Several of my favorite story types all rolled into one book.

Awesome sauce with extra awesome It's fun carefree and fast. It's a book you'll feel like reading in one sitting but flows well enough with just enough depth that you won't mind if you don't. Make a world meet alien girls Appreciated the decrease in sex and focus on the story. Typical character starts becoming OP and meets more girls. But i enjoy learning about the world development and im curious to see what happens from the rewards gained at the end.

Fun read Great example of a perfect litrpg novel. If World building, dungeon romping, and cat girls in chain mail bikinis are in your like column I’m pretty sure you’ll like this book. I can’t wait for the next one.

More godly craziness I thoroughly enjoyed this instalment. Everything great from the first book is present in greater quantities in this one. The plot is enjoyable, the stats are present but unobtrusive, the characters really come into their own and enrich the narrative.

Pretty Good series Wasn’t super complex but not simple either. The writer combines scientific thought with the gamer world in a nice way. Does have “sexual” content so be warned but overall a good weekend read

Excellent I'm sad. Not because this is a bad story but because I enjoyed it so much. And because of that it means I'm one book closer to the end of the series, which is the part of any story I hate most. Excellent I'm sad.
