5 Stars / 3 Steam Fans This is the perfect story to keep the spice in your marriage life. Lauren and Alex are married and they make time to have a date night once a month. During that date night they role-play different situations and this one is freaking hilarious. Meghan Quinn gives us super funny and sexy in a very relatable way. This specific video review will be included in the August 2019 wrap-up. Literally laughed out loud while listening to this in the car. Meghan Quinn is so funny!

🎧 Read Me Romance 🎧 Thanks to this aural gem, I smiled, chuckled and LOL’d my way across 310kms of the (notoriously monotonous AF) Hay Plains, N.S.W. My first Meghan Quinn book (*hangs head in acknowledgment of two MQ titles purchased previously...annnnd....not read*), I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Y’all this was absolutely hilarious. I was almost in tears laughing (while on public transportation). I got some looks from other passengers. I loved that this one is about an established couple trying to spice things up. Just what I expect from a Meghan Quinn rom com.

Ehh this was fun and sexy but not nearly enough length to satiate me.

3 stars. Quickie review: This was another book I listened to on the Read Me Romance podcast. I didn't really enjoy this book. The book was not bad, but the male narrator was terrible for me. He sounded like a formal newscaster reading a book. I'm not really interested in hearing this fun, sexy story told by Tom Brocaw. The story also was just a little slice of life with no real conflict or beginning and end. It wasn't bad but didn't feel like a real book. I was disappointed in this read. 3 stars. RMR Funny and very cute. Would've been at least 4 stars, but I just didn't care for the narrator. RMR Funny and very cute. Would've been at least 4 stars, but I just didn't care for the narrator.

5 Stars! Alex and Lauren were fantastic! So much love and humor packed in this short novella! Absolutely adored every second of it! Such a great couple and Alex *sigh* what a great husband to have! Lauren is one lucky lady! Definitely check this one out on the Read Me Romance podcast - it's so worth it! 5 Stars! Listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast for free. I really liked the story and the narrator and it entertained me on commutes and during a workday. It also looks like I will be reading Three Blind Dates now since I enjoyed the style of this book very much. I have read one other book from this author, The Locker Room.

Well, I didn't listen to the audiobook, but I downloaded a copy of the novella which was offered after finishing Three Blind Dates. It's a quick easy read. Alex and Lauren leave their child with a sitter and arrange a date night involving cowboy role play and a fictitious murder. The murder charade was something new but otherwise there wasn't that much of a plot as everything is a foregone conclusion. They planned to have sex and they do. It's a quick easy read. A funny insight into married couple, Alex and Lauren’s sexy role playing date night. Once a month their 6 year old daughter goes to her aunt’s house, and Alex and Lauren play out their wildest fantasies. This one is a murder mystery on a ‘farm’. A quick, funny and sexy look at life after the happy ever after, keeping the spark in the marriage. I loved it.

📌 Listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast 📌 Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 📌 Humor is very much appreciated but not to my taste 📌 Love that the husband is very much in love with his wife 📌 There's no point in the plot really, but it just gave readers a great insight into an already married couple 📌 Listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast 📌 Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 📌 Humor is very much appreciated but not to my taste 📌 Love that the husband is very much in love with his wife 📌 There's no point in the plot really, but it just gave readers a great insight into an already married couple

I loved Alex and Lauren when I met them in the Three Blind Dates. But now, after reading this I love them soooo much more!! The novella is full of giggling moments and role play. Though, I wouldn't have minded a full length novel on these two characters. I loved Alex and Lauren when I met them in the Three Blind Dates. But now, after reading this I love them soooo much more!! These 'humour' type romances are never my thing they're just cringy for me to read because they never align with my humour, MQ's writing style just isn't going to be for me. If you like OTT funny you'd like it, but yeah, not me. 2.5 stars. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure what I just read. Not the usual MQ books, the forced immature humor was just out there. Doesn’t discourage me from reading her other books because they are good but this one I’m glad was a freebie.

A very funny and elaborate tale of a married couple’s monthly date night. And yet, it was totally relatable and so funny. If only my date nights with my husband could be this elaborate, things would always be fresh with lots of laughter. It was such a cool idea to write about.

Read me Romance podcast book. Cute, fun book but almost too hard to take seriously. Lauren has set up a murder/mystery date night for Alex using their daughters stuffed animals/dolls.

I’m really bummed that this wasn’t for me. I was cringing 95% of the time sadly. This novella is about a married couple named Alex and Lauren. Alex is an accountant and talks about how boring his job is. Lauren, his wife, is quite the opposite of boring. She has a potty mouth and always says what’s on her mind without filters. The story revolves around Alex’s sister taking their daughter, Chloe, for the night so the two could have a date night. It’s not even simple role play, they have an entire system lol. Lauren provides outfits, props, scenery, story lines, etc. The role play takes up the majority of the book and I felt pretty icky during it. The story, the outfits, the voices, etc. It was just a bit much for me haha. But that’s just my opinion, give it a try yourself and see what you think!!

I received an advanced listening copy of Date Night by Meghan Quinn from Little Dog Press, performed by Connor Crais. This is my second time listening to this audiobook. The first time was when it was performed for the Read Me Romance Podcast. I think this may be my first audiobook performed by Connor and he did a great job capturing the humor and relationship between this married couple. The story is a bit ridiculous, but entertaining, about staged role play dates this married couple has. This one is a murder mystery that takes place on a farm (they don't live on a farm) The over the top country accents were just that, over the top. I don't know if that was a creative choice or just came off that way, but when Connor was performing the characters without accents I enjoyed both his male and female voices. Meghan Quinn injects heart and humor and dirty talk into all her stories, even the short ones. I enjoyed this novella and think you will too.

I don't often read books on married couples, I'm more of a "the fun and excitement" that lead to their marriage kinda reader, but I do enjoy snippets of married life in series when the couples are friends etc. and we're now focusing on another couple. To have a book so focused on how this particular couple have kept themselves so fresh and their romance alive made my heart swoon. Alex is adorable when he divulges the truth about getting old. The narrator for Alex doesn't work here for me, I've listened to some of his other work and it was phenomenal, but for this particular story I'm sorry to say I didn't like it. I think the Ebook version (if there is one) would be more my cup of tea -pun intended- and some time inside Lauren's head to break up Alex doting on his wife is something I also felt this book needed.
