As always everybody had nicknames throughout the book, and half the time I had a hard time guessing who was who. I liked Wolf and his story. This is was essentially what carried the story for me. I rooted for him, I hurt for him and wanted him to be happy. The entire Caleb side of the story was a big bust for me. The missions and action side of things were repetitive, made to fit and way too convenient. I guess it's a thing with some authors. To put it in a nutshell it was fast paced, decently edited, mildly suspenseful romantic action flick. It could have been a lot better for me had the author challenged their readers in regards to Caleb and his ordeal. This was too easy. I hate easy.

I think, it's time I have tried, HARD, to like this series, to like this author's writing style. I have tried to ignore all the giant plot holes, the thread conflict that never really quite panned out. I tried to get past the disjointed writing style, but yeah no, I just can't anymore. I've wanted to read Caleb's story because of the previous book, however, the execution just fell short. We're still given the flip flop of names from one sentence to another. I've wanted to read Caleb's story because of the previous book, however, the execution just fell short. We're still given the flip flop of names from one sentence to another. We're still given a phrase that is used over and over again, simply because the author just didn't know how to write the scenes better. This time, it's not the man, but rather, the warrior. Not much better if you ask me. It's like she couldn't figure out how to use pronouns so yeah, throw those in and call it a day. As far as the story goes - if you want to write a hard hitting, gritty book, about something as ... let's say delicate as human trafficking, you must go all in. You can't make it fluff, you can't gloss over it. Caleb was abducted, kidnapped, held captive for something like a year and 1/2. However, did he really suffer? I mean like a real person would have ? No, not even close - which again, fluff. In fact, the whole time he was abducted ended up coming off as training to become part of the Phoenix unit, since the second he was rescued, he joined it, and was basically as good as the ones who'd been in it and have more training than he does. Come. On. Could have been grittier, could have been more compelling, what a missed opportunity. Wolf - meh. Honestly I didn't get anything special about him, sure he was kinda cute when he was with Caleb, but that's it. I just ... as a veteran I get annoyed when authors don't bother to take being in the military seriously in their books. I get it, they need to make it so it fits their story, but then you end up with something that comes off as such BS for people like me. Anyways, as I have said in previous reviews, the thread of conflict that goes through the series does not come together at all. It's almost like she threw all these things in, but then didn't really know how to work it out in the long run. Why was Caleb kidnapped ? Because they wanted to get at Rossi, the head of Phoenix. Why ? Because they wanted money to fund their bad people empire. And how long did they try to extort said money from Rossi? A year and 1/2. Suffice it to say, that I simply can't bring myself to read any more books by this author. If you're not as picky as I am, I'm sure these will probably be great for you, so enjoy. But me? Nah, I'm officially breaking up with this author.

Howls and smoke screens I think this may be my favorite book of Reese’s so far. It’s a high intensity, thrilling, gripping, action-packed military romance that I wish I could experience on the big screen. I love these guys and the family they’ve found with each other. They warm my heart and make me smile. I wouldn’t mind being bitten by Wolf or anything really with him. He is one sexy bundle of skilled and lethal. I am blown away by Caleb though; his bravery and his fierce strength amaze me. I al Howls and smoke screens I think this may be my favorite book of Reese’s so far. Wolf definitely has his hands full and I wish I could be a fly on their wall. “I’m going to keep you for the rest of my life.” These two together, make me swoon and sigh and it doesn’t hurt one bit that they’re also burn up your pages hot. Suddenly I’m craving cinnamon and butterscotch. Another winner in this phenomenal series and I can’t wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed this book, but it does have violence and some horrible things happens. Our main characters Wolf and Caleb does have an age gap and if they would have gotten together when they first met it might not have worked out. But after everything and all of Calebs new experiences they are more compatible and I love that Caleb doesn't take any shit and can stand up for himself. Will definitely check out the Code of Honor series

We've been waiting for this book. We loved Caleb from Alex and Micah's story and wanted to see him get his book and most especially happy ending. But Reese made sure that the poor guys didn't get it right away. She made them work for it. And it was fantastic. I loved the action sequences as Caleb fought back and where Wolf just kept following. it made their reunion so much the better. There was so much heat between the two but angst as well as Wolf tried to deal with a few things. I loved this book We've been waiting for this book. I had a very rocky start with this series, I gave the first book a 2* review because of the narration, I persevered because the series was well rated and overall I’m glad I did. Whilst there were flaws with repetition, and some of the characters decisions seemed purely to create angst, there’s also still far too many random characters I did actually quite enjoy the continuity throughout the series. I looked forward to this book most of all, I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to see more of the two MC’s, like with all the books I’d have much preferred more character building and relationship building but the romance was good and there’s definitely something that kept drawing me back in! Worth a binge read for sure!

I can t decide if I liked this book or not. The series is among my favorite but this book was just too unreal even for a fictional book. Caleb gets kidnapped for more than a year and at the end of it he comes out perfectly fine, no PTS, no fear, nothing. He gets recruited 2 days after his rescue and jumps into the mission like his kidnapping was just a vacation. Caleb constantly thinking of Wolf as his warrior annoyed me to no end. The pet name, nickname or whatever was used too much and it made I can t decide if I liked this book or not. That said, let s be real, they met for 5 minuntes and that was enough for Wolf to drop everything and look for Caleb for more than a year.

The much anticipated story of Caleb and Wolf is here. Most remember Caleb is Micah’s younger brother, and this is his story. There is a significant age gap between the two main characters which happens to be a trope I enjoy. The reader gets the full story that was first written in book 4 but from a different perspective. Keep in mind this book is not a standalone. I highly recommend reading the entire series in order but at the very least book four needs to be read first for optimal enjoyment. I just love this series. So glad we got to see Wolf do his thing. Kind of wanted more Wolf and Caleb time though. This story was definitely a parallel timeline to Lash & Fear's book. Wolf and Caleb. Great Read. Recommend the book and the series. A Story and a Story plot weaves through the book. This story plot has continued from previous books in the series. Story for Wolf and Caleb relationship is HEA and is concluded to a satisfactory level. Previous bks in the series are about other characters that we have meet in the teams. Recommend. Best read in order to understand storyline.

Outstanding I'm loving what the writer did with this series, you really started the first book almost like the final chapter? And the final book as the beginning of the story but they all combined and compliment the story so wonderfully it was explosive. It literally took me about three days to read five books. I couldn't put it down it was so awesome! I'm going to try cobalt securities now, I hope it's as awesome as this series . Great My most favorite book in the series. Action from beginning to end, so many close calls when Caleb was almost saved! But he was rescued in the end and reunited with his friends and loved ones, yeah! Loved Wolf and how he never gave up, loved how Caleb never stopped fighting to be free. Great book.

Wolf finds his mate Caleb and Wolf are great together! Thank you for giving us the run down of Caleb's abduction and his rescue. I loved that he laid down the law of what he wanted. Not exactly the reunion that was expected and we never do see his reunion with Nona/ Maria, Alex's mother. That was a little disappointing. Wolf finds his mate Caleb and Wolf are great together!
