Based on a true story... The year was 1991 and it was Angela's sweet sixteenth. Not very sweet exactly though, considering the fact that she wasn't getting any presents, or a party. Angela was determined to make a birthday party for herself! And she was convinced alcohol was the best way to do that. So she sought out an older "friend" who was over the age of twenty-one. WAY over aged. The woman was in her thirties and she was a sad sack. As lame as they come, Mary was. But if Angela could get her to buy some vodka, then she didn't care about being in Mary's presence for just a little while, that night. Until it started turning into the worst night of her life... EVER!

This was an unusual story line and characters but in a funny way it worked. It was Angela's 16th birthday and her mum was too busy to give her a party so she decided to make her own entertainment however being under the age for alcohol she had to get someone to get it for her and she went along for the ride. It was however the worst decision she had made as the journey got out of hand and she found herself scared for her life. The person she had asked to get the alcohol was Mary a known drug add This was an unusual story line and characters but in a funny way it worked. The person she had asked to get the alcohol was Mary a known drug addict but as she was 'clean' at the time what could it hurt ?. This was a disaster waiting to happen and it was interesting although I didn't really like the characters myself I did like the book.

Shocking and not in a good way!! The plot of this book was so simple, the characters were under developed. Typical stereotypes. Not real feeling so therefore no empathy towards either of the main characters. Too many grammar or spelling mistakes too. Did not enjoy this book and would not recommend.

I have to be honest I'm really disappointed in this book. The storyline was okay but unfortunately, the rest didn't back it up. This is nothing like the author has written before. The characters spoke very weirdly and the dialogue was very strained and not fitting in line with the characters personalities. I have to be honest I'm really disappointed in this book. I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Reviewers Request - Thank you I usually adore Suz's books but this one just fell wide of the mark, I found it really hard to engage with the characters it just didn't feel 'right' I will try to re read the book in a few weeks and see if it works through on a second read I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Reviewers Request - Thank you I usually adore Suz's books but this one just fell wide of the mark, I found it really hard to engage with the characters it just didn't feel 'right' I will try to re read the book in a few weeks and see if it works through on a second read

What a cracking little YA book this is. Angela's 16th birthday should have been full of fun, but the reality turns out completely differently. It's fast paced, enjoyable and a little bit scary! I read it in 10 minutes flat and really enjoyed it. I'm passing my copy on to my 16 year old niece! What a cracking little YA book this is.
